WATCHING WAY TOO MUCH 10/18/11

The answer to Monday’s Trivia Question:  The Regal Beagle was the hangout for all of the folks from Three’s Company!
FIRST FIVES: Heather Doyle, Daniel Donovan, Ed Ziskind, Kristin Wnuk & Bobby Aguilera

I have decided to bag the Song of the Day…when you think about it, it just doesn’t make sense with the topic really and I didn’t get a lot of great feedback on it, so I am taking it out…hope nobody minds.

-Have to start out the morning on a happy note as my NY JETS won 24-6 over the Miami Dolphins last night on MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL.  I know, I know…it’s the Dolphins, but as a Jet fan, I am happy for any win we can get regardless of who we play, so let’s all revel in the win “glow” for a day and then we can get back to our plans of having low expectations for this Sunday’s match up against the Chargers.  Special thank you to Darrell Revis…I enjoyed his 100 yard return last night…so thanks Darrell!

-Also last night, I checked out WATCH WHAT HAPPENS LIVE from Sunday because Jay Mohr was on with Andy Cohen after the reunion and he was hilarious.   I think the surprise for me was Jay’s ability to cover NJ Housewife, Melissa Gorga’s I Tunes smash “On Display”…check it out below:

-Over on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, a pretty cute episode of how the gang always conducts internet research on every one of Ted’s dates which ruin everything for him.  The entire “Sweet Mother of God” reference was pretty funny and SPOILER ALERT, we do find out that Marshall and Lily are having a boy, but for some reason, I feel like maybe the writers have another twist or surprise with regard to the baby.  I can’t believe they would reveal the sex of the baby this early…I mean Lily isn’t even really showing yet.

-While last night’s 2 ½  MEN was HILARIOUS, it was a bit over the top with Ashton and Jon Cryer watching a porno, getting high and having a party with bikini clad chicks.   Ashton did wear a shirt for the entire episode and his character, Walden, was also high on pot brownies for most of the episode which Ashton seems to do just as well as not wearing a shirt…Of course Ashton can do high easily, his character Kelso from THAT 70’S SHOW was high a lot too.  I think the funniest line though came from Courtney Thorne Smith who was explaining the reason she had done the porno (Master Bakers) was because the producer told her he could get her a job on MELROSE PLACE…clever Chuck Lorre…clever

-The only other show I got to see in between JETS/MIAMI plays was REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS.  I seriously have no idea what is wrong with me that I continue to watch…these women are just cruel, mean, immature bullies.  If I were Brandi Glanville, I would have taken one of those crutches and smashed someone with them…unless she knew what she was getting into, not sure why she signed on to the show.  The other “desperate housewife,  Dana will do anything for attention too, where did this one come from?  Oh and remember Franc, the Martin Short wedding planner from FATHER OF THE BRIDE?  Well he must be based on a real person, because he lives via Kevin the Vanderpumps wedding planner who sounds and acts just like Franc.  Seriously he is worth tuning into the show for and I am betting Andy Cohen gives this guy his own show any minute.

-While the Nielsen numbers are not in yet for Sunday night, we do know that THE WALKING DEAD premiere had a record breaking audience.  Over 7.3 million people tuned in on Sunday night and 4.8 million of them were our favorite demographic…A18-49.  Another genre I don’t and won’t watch, but for all of you that enjoy the Zombie genre, you can breathe easy for a while as with these kind of numbers the show is sure to be around for a while.

-You guys know that I don’t watch this one either (but I probably should), but for all of you that do, you can relax…SONS OF ANARCHY has been renewed for a 5th season.

-Some pretty great SNL’s are coming our way for November…check these out:
11/5 Charlie Day is hosting (ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA) & Maroon 5 is performing
11/12 Emma Stone & Coldplay
11/19 Jason Segel and Florence & the Machine
Seems like a good line up!

-Part 2 on the Social TV Report…This chart shows the “buzziest” days of the week for TV.
