-Sunday kinda stunk if you are a Yankee/Jet fan like me. While the Yankee game did
have an exciting ending, it still ended with a loss. So now we have to go to Detroit
and win 2...not the way we would have wanted it but that's baseball right? I don't
even want to talk about the Jet game...what a mess. The one sports highlight of my
weekend...MONEYBALL, the Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill movie about Billy Beane and the
Oakland A's. Have to admit, I didn't know anything about this story, but found the
movie amazing and all I kept thinking about when watching my Yankees was the
MONEYBALL theory of players worth etc. Really eye opening and interesting...I
strongly recommend it for anyone, not just if you are a baseball fan...I mean Brad is
still nice to look at.
-Caught up as usual on some viewing this weekend...Loved Rob Lowe in this week's
PARKS & REC, but what's with the "I just made out in the closet with someone and
didn't have time to fix my hair" look? I decided to give up SECRET CIRCLE. Not
because it isn't good, but it isn't good enough...Oh and WHITNEY...is awesome...this
week's show was hilarious. Very well written, great cast, and I really love her,
especially because I know she is a great guest and huge fan of Howard Stern who I also
love. (Did any of you hear Howards interviews with Jonah Hill, Seth Rogan and Tom
Sizemore last week...all phenomenal...so much so that I was willing to forgive the 3
day work week and all the commercial breaks that I was promised I wouldn't have to
endure on Sirius...until this morning...when I got in my car and NO
HOWARD...c'mon...really? )
-GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS is back tomorrow and I guess we already know how
Shannon answered his proposal...with a big fat YES, as the wedding was Saturday
night at the Beverly Hills Hotel. 400 guests all witnessed Gene taking the plunge. At
62, I think it's fine for him to hang up his crazy shoes and only take out his crazy
tongue when he is alone with his new wife! Congrats Gene and Shannon!
-Finally got to see the movie HORRIBLE BOSSES with one of my Jason boyfriends
(Bateman) and I did laugh out loud...it was really good...way better than that mess,
BRIDESMAIDS. Speaking of Jason Bateman...I just read that ARRESTED
DEVELOPMENT may be kind of uncancelled...apparently Mitch Hurwitz, the
writer/creator of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT has a mini 10 episode season planned for
next year in addition to a movie. Hopefully I will be done catching up on the series
before all of this happens...still in the middle of season 2.
-Facebook and Hollywood got tighter via a new partnership between Warner Bros.
Digital Distribution and the world's biggest social site to debut a so-called "social
series" starting October 18. The show, called AIM HIGH, lets users put their own face in
the show. A user's photo might appear in an election poster in the fictional school in
the series, as an example, Warner said. The show's viewing app also lets Facebook
users integrate their profile information, such as photos, text and friends into the
series. AIM HIGH is an action comedy starring Jackson Rathbone, the actor who plays
struggling vegetarian vampire Jasper in Twilight. The show is slated to run for six
episodes. Have to admit this concept does intrigue me, plus, I love Jasper, so I will
probably check this thing out when it starts in a few weeks.
-I sat in on a Facebook meeting on Friday and learned that a few days ago, Facebook
had 500 million users in ONE DAY, that there have been 50 million new Facebook pages
since July and that there are on average 8 billion message per day. WOW those are
HUGE HUGE numbers.
- Twitter is on pace to nab $139.5 million in global ad revenues this year, up three
times its $45 million haul last year. The prediction is that Twitter will earn nearly $400
million in ad dollars by 2013.
-Shocking moment of the weekend for me...Sting turned 60...OMG that totally freaked
me out!
-SNL didn't include this NETFLIX skit this week, due to time constraints, but since you
all know how I feel about NETFLIX, you have to check this out...it was funny.
