-I need to personally say thank you to Curtis Granderson of the NY Yankees for his two AMAZING catches last night. While our bats finally woke up (even ARod had 2 hits) and we won and are still in this thing, it all could have changed without those two balls being caught…so…THANK YOU CURTIS!
-I am sure the PTC will be happy and even claim victory over the official news that THE PLAYBOY CLUB is the first show of the season to be cancelled…I totally called this one…maybe I will do much better this year than last year with my primetime predictions. I am happy to report that WHITNEY got a full season order and shocked to report that so did UP ALL NIGHT. PRIME SUSPECT repeats will take THE PLAYBOY CLUB’s time slot until the new Brian Williams news mag, ROCK CENTER is ready to go. My prediction is that FREE AGENTS is one of the next to go…let’s see what happens.
-In addition to the awesome Yankee game last night, RINGER was equally amazing, with some very juicy twists and SPOILER ALERT Bridget “coming out” to Jemma…the show seriously gets better and better each week. Still some cheesy special effects, but once they get renewed (betting they will) maybe they will get a tiny bit more money for some location shoots. GLEE is seriously annoying me…who is so obsessed with all of these Broadway tunes? I do remember Fame (and my name…LOL) and in theory I did like the song OUT HERE ON MY OWN, but these show tunes are not what we all signed up for…really feel some serious bait and switch going on. I did like the Mike Chang storyline though and his singing wasn’t that bad really. Biggest smile on my face last night when I realized that GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS was back! Have to again admit that the Simmons/Tweeds really do reality TV the right way…it’s real…wrinkles, tears, therapy, truth all of it…I was of course hoping that Shannon would say yes to Gene’s proposal, but SO glad she called him an A-Hole as she accepted and also so happy that we are really feeling how bittersweet the proposal really was…the best part was seeing how each of them told their Mom’s and each mother’s different reactions…again…so real and SO glad it’s back.
-In my opinion the Apple anticipation and hype was way more exciting than what we were left with…the not SO new and different Iphone 4S…okay it has super cool voice recognition and it’s faster, but I wanted more. I tried to stream the event to see how Tim Cook’s first big conference was but had a lot of trouble even with the live blogs, as so many of them kept crashing…when all was said and done…wasn’t worth all the effort I put in at all...a bit disappointing, but I am sure it won’t matter to the diehards out there…they will all be in line on 10/14 to get the newest and grooviest.
-When I first read that FOX is asking the cast of the SIMPSONS to take a 45% pay cut, I seriously thought for just a second…wait…Homer and Marge? (and I don’t even watch THE SIMPSONS) but obviously we are talking about the voices behind this iconic family. Those guys seem to have a pretty easy gig right? I mean nobody really remembers what they look like, they don’t have to work out or have their makeup done or anything…ride it out as long as you can guys I am sure you’ll be fine on 45% less.
- You know how I love Top 5’s…so here is a good one: Top 5 most time-shifted new fall broadcast series for the first week of the new season (September 19-25, 2011) RINGER at 83.9%; NEW GIRL at 77.4%; CBS PERSON OF INTEREST at 73.8%; UP ALL NIGHT at 73.5%; and UNFORGETTABLE at 73.1%. I Tivo all shows so it is 100% at my house.
-Did I forget to mention the news of Madonna playing the SUPERBOWL? I think I did…I happen to love Madonna and think that it could be enjoyable to see her perform, but most likely by half time I will be a few cocktails and a whole bunch of chips and dip in, that anyone will look good to me, however, the censors should be ready, because if there is anyone who could have a wardrobe malfunction…it’s Madonna!
-Shocker on the Forbes highest earning women list this go around…Bethenny Frankel is ranked 3rd with 55 million due to her beverage deal. I love the Skinny Girl Sangria…good for her! (For the record, Oprah was 1st and Lady Gaga was 2nd)
-Again, I don’t watch DANCING WITH THE STARS, but so far SPOILER ALERT…my 3 peeps are still in it, as last night the LAGUNA BEACH chick was kicked off…never watched THE HILLS or LAGUNA BEACH but I read about Kristen and all her escapades…buh buh Kristen!
-Mobile ad spending in the U.S. is expected to grow 65% in 2011 to $1.23 billion, surpassing the billion dollar mark for the first time. In fact, by 2015, U.S. mobile advertising market will reach almost $4.4 billion. This estimate is a revision from a similar forecast in September 2010, when eMarketer predicted that ad spending would hit $1.1 billion in 2011 and would reach $2.5 billion in 2014.

Wednesday's Wacky Best Friend/Neighbor Trivia: I had a question all set but after last night’s episode of GLEE I had to change it to: Which one of Richie Cunnigham’s best friends appeared last night on GLEE as Emma’s Dad?
