-With the news of Steve Jobs passing away last night, I was obsessed with finding
anything I could to read or watch about him...I still am...I know I have mentioned him
a lot here in WWTM. Most of us are all admirers of his genius, and his innovative
vision...he was truly a man that changed the world...you know that when a 10 year old
is upset about the loss of a man he doesn't even know it proves just how much of an
affect he had on us all. The world is truly a better place because of Steve Jobs... and
the world will miss him...and the world will have an extremely tough time filling his
shoes...in fact they won't be able to. I loved this Steve quote that my friend Joe Stella
posted on my Facebook page last night. For me, these words truly truly resonate...from
the bottom of my heart...Thank you Steve...
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by
dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise
of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the
courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly
want to become. Everything else is secondary." — Steve Jobs
-Other than anything Steve, I did watch a few shows last night. MODERN FAMILY was
brilliant last night...one of my all time favorite episodes so far. The Mitchell and
Cameron story was by far my favorite (and I have to admit...sometimes I pull the same
exact thing on my husband!). The entire episode was so well written...some classic
lines, and of course the basketball montage at the end was HILARIOUS, was hoping it
was on YouTube, but I can't find it. Also, now that I watch ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT,
it was great to see David Cross make an awesome cameo. Of course I watched
SURVIVOR last night...seriously this Brandon Hantz, Russell's nephew is just out of his
mind...I think there is something really off with him. He is going to have a nervous
breakdown...I don't know why they aren't even talking about getting rid of him yet.
Also caught up on PARENTHOOD, which I have to say is just one of the most
underrated shows on TV...kind of like FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS was and want to know
why...because Jason Katims, who was the creator and writer of FNL is also involved
with this show. There was a scene this week when Crosby is trying to explain to his
son that his cousin has Aspbergers and I have to tell you...I have had a similar
conversation with my son...I got the chills watching it last night...very powerful
show...sometimes a bit too close to home...but in a good way if you know what I
mean.
-Last night's X FACTOR was the first part of the "boot camp" part of the
process...again...I still like the show, I like the judges and there are some great voices
in the mix...but the show needs more viewers...so tell your friends that X FACTOR is
worth checking out! Seriously...
-I completely forgot to set my DVR for the new Ryan Murphy/FX show AMERICAN
HORROR STORY...did any of you watch it? I am so NOT a big horror fan, especially
with any sort of shenanigans in a person's house...it just freaks me out, but I was
willing to take the bullet to provide a review and I just forgot...Steve Jobs died...I had
a lot on my mind...
-2 BROKE GIRLS has been given a full season order, but I kind of expected that one.
It's funny and it has a great spot in the lineup between HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and
2 1/2 MEN...so congrats girls, you won't be that broke for much longer.
-The 2011 Ranking of the Top 100 Global Brands is out, and the news isn't great for
Yahoo! as it dropped from 66 to 76 place. On the flipside, Apple leaped into the top 10
for the first time, jumping from 17 to 8, as its brand rose 58% over last year. As for
the top 5, nothing changed from 2010 as Coca-Cola, IBM, Microsoft, Google and GE
held on to their spots, in that order. It should be noted that six of the top 10 brands
for 2011 are tech companies.

- An eMarketer report forecasts that social network ad revenues will hit $10 billion
worldwide in 2013, a sharp increase from the $5.54 billion it predicts ad revenues to
reach this year. In 2011, 6.9% of global online ad spending will go to social networks,
a number that is also expected to rise to an estimated 9.4% in 2013.
