-I really don’t even have words for my NY Yankees…what a debacle and an embarrassment last night. I really never was a big A Rod fan, but last night put the nails in his coffin for me and I am pretty sure we are stuck with him until 2017…My entire family stayed up until 1AM just to be mortified and disappointed…It wasn’t ALL A Rod’s fault…but I am officially blaming him anyway, because he got paid 31 million bucks this year and batted 118 in the post season…I just don’t understand the thought process on this…you get paid 31 MILLION DOLLARS even when you suck! I could go on and on…but I have to just let it all go and move on…I still have my JETS…oh yeah…now I am really depressed! (As I am typing this I just realized that I can’t even drown my sorrow in bad food all weekend as it’s Yom Kippur and I will be fasting…OY VEY)
-I was able to get up early this AM and try to watch some shows that I blew off for last night’s game. SUBURGATORY was cute and WHITNEY was funny. I feel like all of these sitcoms are trying to be FRIENDS or MODERN FAMILY and while they aren’t they’ll do…they get the job done I guess…I think I am just in a mood and exhausted at the moment…can you tell?
-2nd Show to get the boot…FREE AGENTS…which I did predict…totally on a roll…get me to Vegas!
-3rd Show to get the ax…H8R…which I also did predict…better bag the flight and just go to AC while I am hot
-I don’t know if my love for Scrabble and Plants vs. Zombies makes me a casual gamer or a hardcore gamer because this article really didn’t explain the difference between the two, but after reading some info on gaming, thought you guys may be interested to know that:
*4 in 10 internet users play social games
*hardcore social gamers are more likely to be men under 40
*casual social gamers tend to be women-40% of which are over 50
*most social gaming is played on a laptop or desktop
*smartphones and tablets account for only 5% of social gamers share but 24% of hardcore gamers
-Top 5 programs with the most lift (live ratings vs. C3) against RA18-49 for the first 12 days of the season:
MODERN FAMILY went from 5.8 to 7.5
TWO AND A HALF MEN went from 9.0 to 10.3
GREY’S ANATOMY went from 3.9/5.2
NEW GIRL went from 4.6 to 5.8
THE OFFICE went from 4.6 to 5.8
-I knew I should have Tivo’ed AMERICAN HORROR STORY…I gotta check it out even though it will probably freak me out and give me nightmares for a month…I will then of course think that every noise in my house is some murderer coming to get me and my dogs…Wednesday night, over 5 million viewers tuned in…3.2 million A18-49. Pretty impressive…the cast is amazing, so I had a feeling between names like Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton and writer/producer Ryan Murphy, it would do well. I was right.
-ESPN permanently cancelled the Hank Williams “Are You Ready for Some Football” open…I hope they just redo it with someone else like…hmmm…let me think…how about Jon Bon Jovi?
-If you haven’t seen the web series “LIVE FROM DARYL’S HOUSE” you really should check it out. Daryl Hall was has all sorts of great guests who come and play with him. But anyway…Daryl was just guest jamming on JIMMY FALLON the other night and Jimmy just started pulling out songs and singing them…you have to check out the first segment…incredible.
