-I HAD to watch PRETTY LITTLE LIARS last night as a research project for work…no really…I am not kidding, so that took up two hours of my nighttime viewing since I had never seen it before.  I really wasn’t sure exactly what was going on, but I did recognize 3 of the “adults” in the show…first there was Holly Marie Combs, then there was Laura Leighton and to my surprise…my boyfriend Rob Lowe’s brother…Chad.  All of them have aged pretty well since I last saw them and the show was pretty good, so I will have to give my niece another phone call later today to get the answers to all of my questions. I have a fun job, don’t I?

-Checked in on Kelly Ripa also last night…Reggie Bush, the Miami Dolphins running back was her co-host and he was actually pretty good, but I am pretty sure he isn’t giving up his Football career to be on the show, so maybe it was just for fun on his part.

-Last thing from last night…REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS…I was literally screaming at my TV.  I am so glad Kim Richards is in rehab as she obviously has no clue whatsoever as to what is going on around her but I found it hilarious that the only person who suspected a substance abuse problem from Kim’s behavior was Brandi.  Everyone else just couldn’t figure out how someone could miss 2 planes, and a boat and be 36 hours late for a party…huh?  Also…does anyone else think that Ken (Kim’s Ken not Lisa’s) is SUPER creepy and gives off a serial killer kind of vibe?  Just when you think it can’t get any more ridiculous…it does…at least I am never disappointed.  Good job Andy Cohen!

I don’t have the official Sunday night cable ratings in yet, but HOUSE OF LIES delivered 1.03 million viewers at 10p along with another 384,000 for the 12a encore and 146,000 for the repeat episode at 1a, tallying nearly 1.6 million total viewers for the night.  The 2nd season premiere of SHAMELESS drew in 1.58 million viewers, up +61% versus the first season premiere.   Add in another 475,000 for the 11p episode, totaling 2.06 million for the night.  Showtime additionally debuted the fifth season of CALIFORNICATION at 1030p with 758,000 total viewers and another 267,000 total viewers for the repeat episode at 1230a.   All in all…Showtime had a pretty good Sunday night…not as good as Tim Tebow’s but good none the less.

-In my house, when my men are not watching sports or SPORTSCENTER, they watch PAWN STARS and now, I am told that the new show, CAJUN PAWN STARS is also “really good”.  The Carruba men weren’t the only ones watching on Sunday…the premiere attracted 3.6 million viewers exceeding (by far) its AX MEN lead in which had 2.9 million viewers.  Pretty impressive stats…
Some facts about Gaming in the US:
·         75% of  heads of households play computer and video games (I play Plants vs. Zombies and Scrabble)
·         28% of all gamers are women over the age of 18 (that would be me…but not by much)
·         Children only make up 21% of the gaming community
·         42% of online gamers are girls and women
·         The most popular game genre is the card/puzzle/arcade/word games as 44% of all online games played fall into this category
·         The average gamer has been playing video games for 9 ½ years (I don’t want to even tell you how many years I have been playing video games…many…that’s all you’re getting out of me)
·         XBOX owners play on average 7.1 hours per week, PS3 6.1 hours per week and PC/Mac play 5.8 hours per week…what about the Wii???
·         62% of gamers play games online and 42% play online games at least on hour per week
·         34% of heads of households play games on a wireless device of some kind…this is up 20% vs. 2010

- In 2011, U.S. mobile commerce sales increased 91.4% over 2010 to reach $6.7 billion.   By 2015, sales are expected to hit the $31 billion mark at a compound annual growth rate of 55% from 2010 to 2015. Growth is attributed mainly to smartphone users (in 2011, the percentage of mobile shoppers who were also smartphone owners was 93%, up from 75% in 2010), as well as consumers getting more comfortable to mobile shopping and an ever-increasing number of retailers launching mobile sites and applications.  I can tell you that I have begun doing quite a bit of mobile shopping, especially when I am a passenger in my car…so now, my husband doesn’t have to take me TO the mall…I can just shop while we drive around schlepping my kid around or running errands etc.  It has gotten so much easier to do.

-Now that I am watching so much ABC Family…for those of you who do too…SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER and MAKE IT OR BREAK IT are both back on 3/26.

-I have been trying to read up on Tim Tebow to understand why he is so controversial…okay…so he is into God…hey…whatever works for you, Tim.  Anyway apparently he puts the bible reference on his eye things…here are some interesting stats from Sunday’s games
·         John 3:16 is his bible reference
·         He threw for 316 passing yards in Sunday’s game
·         An average of 31.6 yards per pass in Sunday’s game
·         The rating for the final quarter hour of the game…31.6 (HH) Super weird right???
·         Tebow earned 250K for Sunday’s win (60 minute of play…not a bad payday)
·         9420 tweets per second after the game winning TD pass which is a new sports record for Twitter

-MAD MEN will be back (finally) on March 25th   I have missed those guys…I think I missed last season though, so I may have to do some catching up.

-Are any of you guys watching the PBS show DOWNTOWN ABBEY?  It is getting a ton of positive press and Entertainment Weekly featured it this past week…I am thinking of checking it out, but if I have nobody to discuss with, it might keep me from watching…let me know.

-I am not a big LinkedIn person.  I am on there, but I never check it or anything.  It’s not like Facebook for me or Twitter or even now Pinterest…but these facts are pretty interesting so I thought I would share them:
·         LinkedIn users are more likely to have tablets, smartphones and even Bluetooth in their cars, than the general online population in the U.S.
·          41% of LinkedIn members plan on spending $1,000 or more on consumer electronics in 2012, compared to 29% of the general online U.S. population.
·         LinkedIn users are 51% more likely to own or use a smartphone and 85% more likely to own or use a tablet (most likely the iPad) than the average online U.S. adult.

-Personal shout out to Alex Nagler, for providing me something my parents did not…the story of Rumplestilskin (and a great condensed version).  Have to admit…I had never read that fairytale and I think it is completely reasonable to get it mixed up with Rapunzel since both have odd names starting with the letter R and both have something to do with hair…so for anyone else who had negligent parents and is interested in the story of Rumplestilskin, let me know I can send you the scoop…courtesy of Alex.

Tuesday’s Trivia Question: It was all over Yahoo yesterday that Kristy McNichol (the first Kristy I ever came across who spelled her name like me) who is turning 50 this year (which makes me feel super old) has come out as a lesbian…and why that is news I have no idea…but it definitely provides me with trivia questions!  So here is today’s:  Kristy McNichol really became famous in the 1976 show FAMILY.  Name her character.  Bonus question…what was her character’s name in the movie LITTLE DARLINGS?

WWTM-Kristy
