-I’m not one of those Jet fans that is only happy when my JETS win a game, I mean come on, I’m a Jet fan…I have to get pleasure out of other teams wins too or I would hate the football season altogether…so like most of you, I watched football all day and night yesterday and I did root for the Ravens and the Giants and obviously I am happy that one of the teams I was rooting for is going to SUPERBOWL XLVI (it’s that time of the year people…ROMAN NUMERAL USAGE TIME).  I would have to think that it’s not a good morning for Billy Cundiff, the Ravens All-Star kicker…I mean what the heck happened dude?  I was all set to do my “Take that Tom Brady and you freaking Patriots” dance and then the next thing I know I am angry and screaming at the TV and had the WTF look on my face…I just really hate those Patriots…so hopefully on February 5ththe outcome of SUPERBOWL XLVI will be the exact same outcome as it was 4 years ago when I went to my very first SUPERBOWL and the Giants will beat those Patriots and I can do my dance then. I don’t mind waiting…just get it done BIG BLUE! The question now is…what are we planning to eat that day?  Yes…I woke up planning it in my head already.

-Other than football, I did watch the first episode of PBS’s DOWNTON ABBEY (Not DOWNTOWN ABBEY as I have been calling it all this time) and I really liked it.  It’s pretty much a soap format that takes place in 1912 Great Britain…I had no issues with the accents, I understood what everyone was saying, there are a lot of characters that you need to remember, but I am sticking with it…who knew that PBS would get me back as a viewer after all these years without Elmo and a need learn my spelling and counting…

-I also saw the movie THE DECENDENTS with George Clooney.  It was fine…I don’t see why it’s getting all the rave reviews and Best Picture accolades, but maybe there isn’t much else out there.  The movie is set in Hawaii and even Hawaii’s beauty isn’t in the movie enough for me, especially since the subject matter is sooooo depressing.  In a nutshell, Clooney apparently didn’t have the greatest marriage, isn’t that close with his 2 daughters, and works a lot.  Wife gets in a boating accident and is in a coma.  George finds out from his daughter that his wife has been cheating on him with a real estate broker and was planning to leave him.  He hunts down the guy with the help of his daughter and her weirdo burnout boyfriend and then pulls the plug on the wife and hangs out more with his kids.  The end…seriously??? Not that amazing…but to George’s credit…he did cry pretty well, but the daughter cried underwater which was impressive acting.

-I have a bit of a dilemma today…I pretty much declared myself to be Kardashian free, but Kim is Kelly Ripa’s co-host today.  I think it’s only fair that I continue my co-host analysis and try my best to be as unbiased and impartial as possible, but…I am already dreading it!

-Over the weekend when searching for information and facts that could be of interest to some of you I came across these:
·         People using tablets spent $123 on average per purchase in 2011
·         This is 54% more than visitors using Smartphones
·         Tablets accounted for a small but fast growing segment of retail website visitors
·         It went from 1% in January 2011 to 4% in December 2011
·         Tablet visitors may be more valuable than those using smartphones, laptops or desktops as they are more affluent, spend more and the tablet seems to be more conducive to shopping

- Google makes $7 per year in mobile advertising revenue from EVERY smartphone and tablet:
·         This includes both Android and iOS devices;
·         it includes revenues generated from search and display ads on mobile apps across both platforms.
·          mobile accounted for 7% of Google's total revenues in 2011, increasing from 3% in 2010, and is expected to grow to 13% in 2012.
·          By 2016, mobile will be a $20 billion business for Google and will carve up a 26% slice of total revenues.
·          Currently there were an estimated 509 million smartphone/tablet devices worldwide in 2011 which will grow to 914 million in 2012

Monday’s Trivia Question: In 2008, the Patriots played the Giants in SUPERBOWL XLII (That’s 42 in Roman Numerals…I told you it’s the only time we get to practice our Roman Numerals in life so I need to maximize it for the next 2 weeks) Who was the MVP of that game?
