-I had a feeling Kate and her 8 were getting the boot.  Remember??? First they weren't
included in TLC's lineup when I posted it, and then they started airing episodes a week
or so ago and now...done.  TLC officially cancelled the show. I think it was time really.
I never watched the show (a show with all of those little kids isn't enjoyable to me at
all), but it was really quite popular and propelled Kate and her husband Jon to reality
stardom which then lead to a reality meltdown.  Bye Bye Kate!

-With the exception of REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NJ, I caught up on everything from
Sunday and even checked out some of the Pre-Season JET game (they lost), Yankee
game (they won) and the new Bravo reality show MOST ELIGIBLE DALLAS.  I could
definitely watch more MOST ELIGIBLE DALLAS, but it didn't get the coveted Season
Pass Award from me.  The characters are tough to tell apart, the women all seem to
look alike to me with the exception of the one brunette.  This cast is pretty impressed
with themselves and felt they were famous before the camera's ever started rolling.
Drew the gay guy on the show (not that there is anything wrong with that), can't seem
to say the word "button" as he kept pronouncing it "buddon" which literally made me
change the channel.  Then you had Matt, the guy who really thought he was super slick.
The whole time I was watching I thought, "Is he wearing a Yarmulka?" Finally we get a
glimpse of him from the back and I realized he was losing his hair in the shape of a
perfect Yarmulka...that had me laughing actually.  Let's move
on...ENTOURAGE...horrible...CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, was really funny actually.  I
am so glad I stuck with it.  I thought the best line of the show was "I am trying to
elevate small talk to medium talk"...loved that one.  I also had to go to the
dictionary...Larry used the word prevaricator (a person who speaks falsely, a liar) and I
had no idea what that meant. I wonder how many people actually did. I don't think
that word even made my SAT prep class word list. THE GLEE PROJECT that I watch in
5 minutes or less, scammed us all this week as they didn't cut anyone at all so now we
continue to be left with the final 4 contestants, none of which I care about.

-Of course I caught up on BIG BROTHER.  I am thrilled with the nominations (SPOILER
ALERT) Shelly and Adam and if they back door Brendon or Rachel that's fine by me too.
Porsche is the ULTIMATE under the radar, floater, so I wouldn't mind at all if she ended
up on the block.  I just love BIG BROTHER.

-A shake up on the CBS chat fest THE TALK.  Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete
seem to be out, although that could possibly change.  At press time CBS hasn't picked
up their contracts and time is running out as the season starts on 9/6.  If that wasn't
enough of an issue for creator Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, whose contract has been
renewed, has asked for a little time off to spend with Ozzy.  I'll fill in Sara...let me
know when you need me!

-I find that it's so much better to experience something when you share it.  So, not
sure of the age base of my WWTM readers, but if any of you even remember Studio 54,
you may enjoy the SIRIUS/XM channel that launched yesterday devoted to the music of
that time. I am listening now as I type (Howard was boring me with his photography
stuff again) and thoroughly enjoying it. It is channel 15 on Sirius (not 54 which is
stupid right?)

-This story broke minutes after I hit send yesterday, so I am sure you all know about it
already, but it's too big to not mention: Google is buying Motorola for about $12.5
billion in cash.  This will allow the creator of the Android mobile operating system to
build its own smartphones and tablets. The deal, by far Google's largest ever, puts the
company in direct competition with Apple and steps up the pressure on other
smartphone and tablet makers such as Research In Motion Ltd. (makers of the
Blackberry) and Nokia Corp., which recently forged an alliance with Microsoft Corp. for
smartphone software. I think the deal makes complete sense, especially knowing that
Google tried once before in the handset space with the Nexus One.  With deals like this
that are so large, I focus on the CASH part of this paragraph.  12.5 BILLION dollars in
CASH!  That is a lot of dough re mi! I am sure it is a paper transfer of funds, but I
would love to see the delivery of all that cash...how many silver suitcases would it fill?

- A recent concert featuring the dance duo,  LMFAO seemed like a typical summer
concert. But the fans who attended were actually taking part in an experiment in mobile
ticketing. The Billboard Summer Blowout party was billed as the first event for which
every ticket distributed was done via mobile phones. Joshua Dziabiak, founder of
ShowClix, the company behind the service, said the new MMS ticketing system was the
first of its kind to be used in the United States and hopes the system will revolutionize
the way ticketing works.
"It's the ability to have your event tickets delivered to your mobile device without
having to print anything out," he said before Thursday's free concert. "It's a lot easier
for patrons to remember their tickets. The ecological benefits of the system are a big
draw for brands looking to be more eco-friendly. In addition, without having to print
paper tickets, the cost to the promoter is less. For someone that seems to forget
everything these days, I am a big fan of the mobile ticket and hope it becomes the
norm soon!  Of course what happens if you forget your phone too!

-Quick Response or QR codes are becoming a more mainstream marketing method, with
14 million or 6.2% of the total U.S. mobile audience trying out the technology in June,
according to ComScore. The most popular source of scanned QR codes was a printed
magazine or newspaper, with nearly half scanning QR codes from this source. Product
packaging was the source of QR code scanning for 35.3%, followed by codes from a
website on a PC (27.4%) and codes from a poster/flyer/kiosk (23.5%). QR users are
more likely to be male, young to middle-age and upper income.  Have you ever snapped
a QR code on anything?  I did for the movie INCEPTION, but I was working on the
partnership, so I don't think that counts.

-WWTM Readers Poll Results:  15% of the WWTM readers (currently at 126 registered
readers and counting) own tablets and ALL of them have IPAD's.
Tuesday's Trivia Question:  Kate and the 8 Gosselin kids have lost their jobs, but there
was another family of 8 back in the 70's that we all loved, what was their name and
what was the name of the show?
WWTM-Kristy
