-I will reiterate my comment from yesterday with regard to ratings...you can't base
everything on week 1 as there is a lot of sampling etc going on...but still, I was really
surprised that the broadcast ratings for the night were won by NEW GIRL on FOX.
NEW GIRL beat GLEE? Let's see what happens when things settle down.
-At this time of the morning, none of the numbers are in for last night's premiere of the
X Factor, but based on Twitter feeds and my own Facebook page, it seems everyone did
tune in to see Simon and Paula. I haven't watched IDOL in years, so I don't know just
how different X FACTOR and IDOL are from each other, but I have to admit, I had tears
in my eyes twice last night during X FACTOR...the first was when the single Mom
whose boyfriend told her she wasn't good enough and she was too old, Stacy Francis,
performed and then heard from the judges just how good she really was. The second
time was when Chris, the hip hop guy who was 70 days clean heard the 4
yes's...Bizarro moment of the evening had to be when that whacko pulled out his you
know what and made Paula so upset that she ran to the bathroom and puked...I found
both the guy and Paula's reaction both to be so odd...I loved the "X" over the guys' you
know what...I really did laughed out loud at that one..."X" truly did marked the spot in
this case. So I officially Season Passed the show and can't wait until the ratings and
Trendrr numbers come out to see what America thought...I am going with a 10.5 and
30MM viewers...that would beat the 2 1/2 MEN numbers from Monday.
-Last night did not go as I planned at all...my son's birthday week continued, I had his
new phone set up when he got home, I had the Cookie cake with his name on it and I
figured we would be ready to watch X FACTOR and SURVIVOR right on time...what I
didn't account for was his decision to run for Student Council and the need for a speech
to be written before we really settled down for the night...I also didn't account for the
meltdown he would have when I didn't really understand that he really didn't want my
help as requested, he just wanted to read me his speech and be done...so there was
about an hour of good TV time that went to family drama instead...hey, sometimes real
life does get in the way of this passion of mine...right? I couldn't help thinking that this
could be a great storyline for PARENTHOOD...I could have used Adam's advice...my
husband handled everything brilliantly though...Adam would have been proud of him.
We did obviously get through it and still watched all of SURVIVOR, all of X FACTOR, 1
episode of MODERN FAMILY and Monday's episode of REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY
HILLS...again pretty impressive right?
-A few comments on each...I think the SURVIVOR contestants are overplaying this
season. We are in week 2 and there are already too many alliances, and sub-alliances,
nobody seems to need the clue for the immunity idol because they all look for it
automatically, and everyone knows how to handle tribal council...I am not complaining
at all, I love the show, but it has come out of the gate very differently in my opinion
this season.
-I didn't love the first episode of MODERN FAMILY where they went to the dude ranch.
The new Lily, was okay, she does look like an older version of the old Lily but now she
speaks. I kind of liked her better when she was mute, but I think we all say that about
our kids...we can't wait for them to speak, and then they finally do and we have days
where we yearn for the quiet again.
- REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS focused on the nervous breakdown of Taylor
Armstrong this week. I have to admit, I found it very disturbing. There must have
been so much going on in the Armstrong house for Taylor to have come this unglued
and for her husband to kill himself. If they left all of that IN the show, I can only
imagine what was cut out.
-Who says Charlie Sheen is crazy? Not me anymore...he settled with Warner Brothers
and Chuck Lorre to the tune of 100 million bucks. He will get 25 million immediately
and continue to earn the other 75 million in syndication profits. Now it all makes sense
why he was so nice to his former show and castmates on the Emmy's Sunday
night...good for you Charlie. Just be careful how you spend it, you already know how
expensive all those hookers and drug dealers can be!
-The new REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NY cast has been revealed...Carole Radiziwill, (Jackie
O's niece), Heather Thompson a fashion designer and Aviva Drescher (no relation to
Fran) will be joining the cast. Anytime you add anyone who has anything to do with
the Kennedy family...I am in. Obviously we will have to wait until next Summer to see
how these new women deal with the remaining cast, but it could be just what the show
needed.
-Speaking of REAL HOUSEWIVES...I forgot to discuss this...did you all read that
BETHENNY and her husband were lost at sea over the weekend? A real life Gilligan's
island type thing? Bethenny and Jason were supposed to be on an eight hour sail that
turned into a 20 hour ordeal ending that required help from the Coast Guard to get
them home safe and sound. Luckily baby Bryn wasn't on the boat with them
-Tonight's viewing is just insane...I will need all TiVo's ready to go: VAMPIRE DIARIES,
SECRET CIRCLE, PERSON OF INTEREST, CHARLIES ANGELS, X FACTOR, PARKS & REC,
THE OFFICE & WHITNEY...not to mention everything I am already behind on...I need
the weekend to catch up and then I need so start making some big decisions. What to
Season Pass and what to DELETE!
Thursday's Trivia Question: Tonight Michael Emerson stars in the premiere of PERSON
OF INTEREST. We all know that Michael starred in LOST as Ben Linus, but how many
of you remember what Ben's original name was? He claimed he was a balloonist from
Minnesota...I can't believe I remember this one...let's see how many of you do. You
guys were asking for a hard one...I think this one is pretty tough.
