THE SHOWS

I had every intention of watching Jack Bauer last night, but here's how things work these days. I was checking my Facebook feed and saw that David Letterman was interviewing Jerry Seinfeld about Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee at the Paley Center for Media (I really need to become a member. Note to self…look into this) and ended up watching the live stream until 8:30pm. Still some time to start episode 10 of Orange is the New Black AND watch 24 right? Wrong! OitNB is way too addictive so…episode 11 too. I'm giving you all a month and then we really need to discuss how unbelievably amazing this show is. The story, the acting, the ensemble, the character development plus…prison! It's so good! PLEASE START WATCHING!

A few things about Jerry and Dave.
1) I loved Jerry's description of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee: "It's an anti show of a non event"
2) There's no script, no writers and no director. Just Jerry, a producer and an editor
3) Jerry usually films about 3-3 1/2 hours and edits down to 10-20 minute episodes
4) Each show has a production budget of about 100K & Jerry paid for this first 10 out of his own pocket
5) According to show analytics…most people watch while they're at work!
6) Dave has quite the vocabulary. I learned the word ignominy which means disgrace or dishonor and I learned the word recidivism, the chronic tendency toward repetition. Thanks Dave.

It was a great interview. Jerry's awesome. Dave's awesome. Thanks Facebook!
