THE SHOWS

Out late last night, then stuck in NYC because of demonstrations going on all over the city, then a little teenage angst this AM.

The Goldbergs
It was 1987 when George Michael had this week's song on the charts. He was the coolest until he wasn't any more. Adam was trying to recreate the George Michael video but ended up with a broken arm instead of some slick dance moves. This set in motion a web of lies that got so out of control it cost him his friendship with Muscles Mirsky. His best friend desperately in need of a hot oil treatment. There's no such thing as a hoverboard people. Sure I walked out of Back to the Future 2 thinking they were real but they aren't. Let's just get it straight. After attending the Erica Goldberg University of Lying, Adam decided to come clean and do anything to get his BFF back. This meant showing the mortifying video to his entire class. The embarrassment and his "you are one of us" speech to Emmy won her back. Okay now for my problem with this episode. Is it really possible that a family with the last name of Goldberg never had any Chinese food until 1987? That just can't be!  I'm pretty sure I've been eating Chinese food since birth. The Goldbergs, like most of us, got hooked on Mu Shu, duck pancakes and Big Tasty Pork until Bev got so jealous she had the guys banned from the place and stole Dave Kim from Dave Kim's Mom. After the family freaked out and Bev gave them her sob story a new Goldberg tradition was born:  Friday Night Chinese food.
You know the drill what was this weeks song? You already know who sang it.
Bonus question what was George Michael's partner's name when he was in Wham!

Modern Family
This weeks episode of Modern Family WAS funny but I had four issues. 1) No way the Dunphy's subscribe and read National Geographic magazine. NO WAY! 2) What parents, regardless of their sexual affinity would purchase an all white sofa with a young child in the house? 3) What happened to Kristen Johnston's green face mask? It was on and then it was gone. 4) Luke
I did love the Bark Mitzvah and really hope that my dogs and I get invited to one some day. The first thing I thought about when everyone thought Alex was faking her boyfriend Alec, was when Jan Brady had a fake boyfriend. Can you remember his name for bonus points? Best part of the episode: Mitchell and Cam in the bathroom at the end of the show.

Black-ish
Black-ish just gets better and better every week. I still have trouble with Traci Ross-Ellis, but I'm learning to get passed it. I was doing okay last night even though her hair, eye and acting were all way too much, but then she attempted "Solid as a Rock" during the end credits and I had to hit the delete button. I guess she didn't get her Mom's vocal genes, that's a bummer. This week it was all about Team Johnson, loyalty and having people's backs. Bow and the kids got the concept but Dre just couldn't get it straight even though his heart was in the right place. Diane gave up her brothers and sister for a bowl of Chunky Monkey and extra whipped cream. Junior really reminds me of Lionel Richie. Do I write that every week?
