Bogus episodes of Big Brother and Lip Sync Battle…at least the Yankees won

NOTE: I'm still figuring this all out. If you did subscribe, you might have received the email last night. I'm new to all of this stuff so just bare with me. My main concern is that all of your emails are housed at work and if anything happens I lose them all. I post the blog to Facebook and Twitter and I'm trying this subscription thing too, so just make sure you have a secondary way to get the blog. Thanks for your patience/help.

THE SHOWS

Let me just say this. I hate when I have high hopes for a night of TV and then I'm completely crushed. In general Big Brother was supposed to be this awesome double eviction night. SUCKED. Then Lip Sync Battle. Should have been great, Iggy Azalea and Swaggy P. SUCKED. The Jets…SUCKED. At least the Yankees won. See how I find that silver lining…that's what I do.

Big Brother
  • Julie's hair parted in the middle was TERRIBLE. Her top wasn't bad, the grey leather pants weren't great but she never fails to have great shoes. GET IT TOGETHER STYLISTS. Les…come on, she's YOUR WIFE!
  • You can really tell that Becky's face hit a train when she wears her hair pulled all the way back to a ponytail.
  • Vanessa's water works began 7 minutes in.
  • Steve's tongue looks like it doesn't fit in his mouth, did you see that?
  • James scared the crap out of Liz or did he scare the crap out of Julia? If one's scared does the other jump?
  • OMG, Vanessa looked SO much better without the eyeshadow.
  • DOUBLE EVICTION…DOUBLE EVICTION
  • Wow, that was quite the soliloquy Vanessa. I don't know poetry…did she write that herself? Or was that someone famous like Ralph Waldo Emerson or something. Either way...Impressive.
  • Diary Room Dance Moves: Activated for only the first round of voting.
  • WOW…Shelli's out? Not Vanessa?
  • Funny Dr. John the Dentist Detective aka Johnny Mac eviction moments. Do any of us know the real man? I'm thinking no…no we don't.
  • Sad Clown stays and Shelli goes…I honestly think I missed something. I'll have to go back and watch again.
  • Julie brought up the Puma thing with Shelli as soon as she got comfy. Isn't Julie 20 years younger than Les? Double standard, Julie? Great topic for The Talk.
  • Steve won the HOH and he TOTALLY wasted it on Meg & Jackie? We have twins and a showmance and he chooses Meg and Jackie? I thought he was a super fan.
  • Dr. John the Dentist Detective aka Johnny Mac won the Veto and didn't use it. WTF?
  • Jackie went home what a complete waste of a double eviction night.
  • Seriously, did I miss something? Why did the house get rid of Shelli and keep Vanessa?

Lip Sync Battle
Iggy Azalea and her fiance Swaggy P aka Nick Young were last nights performers. You'd think since Iggy is a professional lip sync-er she'd be awesome at this but not really, she basically did a lot of humping and gyrating and performed 2 songs I didn't even know. Swaggy P aka Nick Young, who, to be honest, I didn't know at all, talked a good game but he stunk too. Here are the links, but honestly, I wouldn't even bother.

THE OTHER STUFF

-Sesame Street and HBO have partnered up for very interesting 5 year partnership. The next 5 new seasons of Sesame Street will air on HBO and all of the HBO channels. As part of the deal, the Sesame Workshop will be able to provide the show free of charge to PBS and all of its stations after 9 months. They'll produce double the amount of content than ever before. Also part of the deal, the Sesame Workshop will produce a Muppet spinoff series and new educational series for kids. The new episodes will begin airing late this Fall in both Spanish and English. So if I read it right, Sesame will still air on Channel 13 here in NYC but the new eps won't show up for awhile. Weird to think of Elmo, Grover & Big Bird on the same channel as Tony Soprano, the Khaleesi and the gang from Girls but I'm guessing a tax write off is worth it?

-Jimmy Fallon's contract has been extended through 2021. No shocker there. 6 more years of "we love you's, you're the bests, and you're the greatests" but also 6 more years of egg roulette, lip sync battles, and charades too. Congrats PAL!

-NBC also gave the good news to American Ninja Warrior. The show was renewed for a 5th season,

-More casting announcements for The Wiz Live! Common will be play the gatekeeper to Emerald City, Ne-Yo will play the Tin Man and Elijah Kelley the Scarecrow. This thing's gonna be good I just know it.

-Celebrity Apprentice won't be back this year but it will be back for the 16/17 season but one "celebrity" will be missing. The Donald will NOT be back to his beloved board room if he doesn't become president. He's FIRED!  No word yet on just who will be firing the stars each week but if NBC is reading…have some secret meetings with Mark Cuban, he'd be awesome.

-Tina Fey and Robert Carlock the geniuses behind 30 Rock and Kimmy Schmidt will be bringing another show to NBC. Not sure when it will air but if these two are behind it, you can pretty much bet it will be awesome.
