The answer to Thursday’s Trivia Question: The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Who and The Grateful Dead have a lot in common and many of you called them out, but remember this was a GRAMMY trivia question…so…what they all have in common is that NONE of them have ever won a Grammy.

-Kelly update: yucky necklace back, HORRIBLE blue dress, Jerry O’Connell was back too… he was fine…I just like him because I know he LOVES Howard Stern and because somehow, he managed to marry John Stamos’s ex-wife which means something, I just don’t know what.

-Esther, the original witch and all of her vampire kids threw an awesome magical ball in Mystic Falls last night on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES…It seems that every single citizen of Mystic Falls has no problem finding a tux or a gorgeous ball gown in less than 24 hours and is willing to show up to a families party whom they have never even met…ahhh who are we kidding, I would probably go too if I was invited to the biggest house on the blocks party and I knew that Damon would be there.  Here is where we netted out though…Stefan still loves Elena even though he says he doesn’t.  Damon still loves Elena and now has no problem saying it. Esther says she is going to link all of her kids together and kill them but we really know that can’t happen or the show would suck.  Klaus seems to suddenly have a thing for Caroline.  Caroline seems to still be holding out for Tyler her werewolf BF and Rebecca was SO into Matt that she went on the rebound with Damon and ripped his shirt off (YEAH) at the end of this week’s episode.  Even though it wasn’t Elena, Damon with anyone is HOT.  I think I got it all…SO GOOD as always.

-The one hour 30 ROCK special was actually pretty funny.  I loved the Ikea storyline and I have actually walked out of there with my husband in a worse mood than when I entered the building just like Liz did.  I have to give “props” (which we now officially know- thanks to our readers-means proper respect) to Ikea for allowing its product integration to be a bit negative and self deprecating.  James Mardsen is getting funnier each week, and in this particular case the addition of Mary Steenburgen as Avery’s Mom…brilliant.  What are they going to do about Avery?  You know that North Korea will release her someday…I am guessing that the day she gets back Jack will be in bed with either her Mom, or Liz?  Who knows, but this episode was one of the best ones so far this season.

-With the exception of Nathan missing and Evil Dan back to his shenanigans (love using that word) ONE TREE HILL is really sucking…when is Lucas coming back already?  Also…I think I missed an episode…did Julian leave the kids in a hot car or something?  How did that happen?

- Only 4.5% of TV households  have broadband internet, but also only free, broadcast TV,
·         This is still an increase of 22.8% vs. year ago
·         the same percentage of consumers in these broadband/broadcast homes watch traditional TV, stream video on the web or use the internet in general as consumers living in "cross-platform" homes.
·          In broadband/broadcast-only homes, consumers spend an average of 122.6 minutes per day watching traditional TV, and 11.2 minutes streaming video.
·         In cross-platform homes, consumers spend on average 256.5 minutes every day watching TV, while only 5 minutes streaming video content.
·         the percentage of consumers who pay for both TV (90.4%) and broadband (75.3%) has increased 5.5% over the previous year. The report covered the third quarter of 2011.

-One more SUPERBOWL record I wanted to report on was the Hispanic viewership…SUPERBOWL XLVI (one last chance to use my roman numerals) was viewed by 10.4 million Hispanics…highest numbers to date.  This is the 2nd year with over 10 million Hispanic viewers and an increase of 68% from SUPERBOWL XLI five years ago.
-You may want to set your DVRs for LETTERMAN on Monday night…the top 10 list is going to be delivered by ten of the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models, followed by the reveal of this year’s Cover Model.  This is the 5th year that the cover model has been revealed on LETTERMAN.  On Tuesday’s show, the Cover Model will be sitting next to Dave…

- The use of game consoles as a connected TV platform is rising
·         Watching television live, recorded via a DVR, through a cable provider's on-demand offering, via a free online video service or on a show's website are still the five predominant methods for watching television content.
·         However, accessing TV shows from a web-connected service on a gaming console has seen a spike over the last two years, from 3% of survey respondents who have utilized this method in 2009 to 9% in 2011.
·         This growth is being driven by the 14 to 22 age demographic ("trailing millennials") and the 23 to 28 age demographic ( "leading millennials"), with 18% of both types of millennials responding they have used game consoles to watch television content.
·         Only 8% of Generation X and 3% of Baby boomers indicated the same, no one above 65 watched TV on a game console. When the survey asked users what their preferred method of watching TV was, only 3% chose game consoles. However, on this end, the "trailing millennials" led the way at 8%.
- Trends in social media, search, online video, digital advertising, mobile and e-commerce:
  • Social networking accounted for 16.6% of all online minutes at the end of 2011, with Facebook grabbing the largest share of online minutes across the web.
  • Google is still the king of search; However, Bing made some impressive gains, leaping past Yahoo! to become the number two core search engine.
  • More than 100 million Americans watched online video content on an average day at the end of 2011, a 43% increase over 2010.
  • 4.8 trillion display ad impressions were delivered across the web in the U.S. in 2011.
  • By the end of 2011, more than 8% of all "digital traffic" was consumed via devices such as tablets and smartphones.
  • Total U.S. retail and travel-related e-commerce reached $256 billion, up 12% from 2010.
-Now that Oprah doesn’t have her BIG ratings, her Oscar special isn’t the next day, in the Kodak Theatre, as it has been for some time now…it is airing on OWN next Thursday (2 weeks before the big day) and will feature “intimate” interviews with Oscar hopefuls like Jonah Hill (not A lister Brad Pitt though) . But guess who is doing her show the morning after the Oscars…KELLY RIPA…pretty interesting change of events…ahhh what a difference a year makes huh Gayle?
-WWTM Weekend Movie Rental Suggestion: Cruel Intentions starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and his now ex-wife, Reese Witherspoon.
