-I finally got to watch the awesome season finale of DOWNTON ABBEY this morning (I don’t sleep much). It was worth the wait…so here is where we stand at this point: Mr. Bates (I didn’t even laugh while typing it) was found guilty of killing his wife and sentenced to death by hanging, but then was reprieved so now at this point it is life in prison, but I am guessing that at some point in Season 3, he will get out of prison and back to work at Downton.  Lady Grantham finally told her husband why her daughter had to marry the horrible Sir Richard and Lady Mary also told Matthew why she had to do it as well.  But both men told her that her happiness was more important than anything else, so in the end, what we have all been waiting for…no, not the servants ball, a marriage proposal…so I am hoping that next season, in addition to Mr. Bates release…from prison (ha ha ha…just had to do it) a beautiful Downton wedding…I came to the party late on this show…but seriously guys…now is your chance to catch up.  The first two seasons are short really…so try to catch up before Season 3…it’s worth it. I am not the only one who thinks so either… the finale delivered a record breaking  5.4 million viewers and a 3.5 HH rating, NOT including those viewing through station replays, DVRs or online streaming .  The finale’s overnight rating was the highest for a PBS program since the premiere of Ken Burns’s NATIONAL PARKS in September 2009.  For all of you that are fans already and begged me to watch this show…I found some cute facts about it online:
·         Elizabeth McGovern (Cora, Countess of Grantham) is in the band “Sadie and the Hotheads”
·         Jim Carter(Mr. Carson) does charity bike rides all over the world
·         Andrew Lloyd Webber tried to purchase Highclere Castle (Downton) to hold his art collection
·         The first season of DOWNTON ABBEY won 6 Emmy’s including outstanding miniseries or movie (not sure how that qualifies, since I would say it’s a show, not a miniseries)
·         DOWNTON ABBEY is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the show with the “Highest Critical review ratings for a TV Show” (no idea how they measure that one but interesting)
·         DOWNTON ABBEY was the second most popular show on TV the night of the SUPERBOWL
·         Google returns for DOWNTON ABBEY: 17,900,000
·         Google returns for DOWNTOWN ABBEY: 395,000  (I should know…I made this mistake for months)

-Have to give a shout out to COUGAR TOWN for the Howard Stern mention Wednesday night.  Most of the cast are big Howard fans, but Ellie was angry with Andy for forgetting to renew the satellite bill and being unable to listen to Howard…nice.  Also, good job in finding a way for Bobby to be shirtless for the second half of the episode.  Who knew he would look so good.

-Speaking of looking good…Kelly had her gorgeous husband Mark as her co-host on LIVE WITH KELLY yesterday.  The show still blows in Hawaii, and even though Kelly’s dress was terrible and they were both wearing flip flops, he was still very enjoyable to watch.  (Kristy’s rule…no flip flops for guys...nope…not ever…hope nobody is offended…we all have our things…that is one of mine)

-I really need to just delete the ONE TREE HILL season pass…you have to be kidding me…Lucas Scott aka Chad Michael Murray finally comes back…he has horrible hair, doesn’t do or say much, hugs Hailey, takes the kids and leaves…WHAT?  That’s it?  All of that for nothing?  So done…I can’t imagine that CMM was ultra busy with filming something else…why couldn’t he stay…get a haircut, find Nathan and hang back in the Hill…how many more episodes do I have to put up with before it’s over?

-Steve Buscemi directed a really great LEAP DAY episode of 30 ROCK last night.  Special guest appearances by Jim Carrey and Andie McDowell, and again the writers perform a slam dunk (well the Knicks weren’t) with the way they built Benihana into the storyline.  They are really awesome with their product integrations on that show.  This one was brilliant.

-Do we need to discuss the Knick game?  Hadn’t seen LeBron lately…not digging the Abraham Lincoln beard.  The Knicks got crushed…oh well…I watched in between a lot of good TV, it made the game way less painful.

-SMASH isn’t getting the buzz it should be.  It is really a good show that has a lot of layers, good music and isn’t just about a show on Broadway.  I think it takes time to build the foundation for this one, but it is building nicely and I am really enjoying it, especially Debra Messing who is doing a good job at making me forget that she was Grace from WILL & GRACE.

-PARKS & REC…what can I say…so good.  Rob Lowe’s hair and smile where just hmmm…yummy I guess.  Best line and honestly some just plain good advice came from the best character on the show…Ron Swanson, who said “Never half-ass 2 things…whole ass one thing”  Words of Wisdom…thanks Ron.

-Barring any major surprise with last night’s broadcast of AMERICAN IDOL, this week THE VOICE will most likely rate higher against A18-49 than AMERICAN IDOL. On Monday, THE VOICE delivered a 6.0 RA18-49 with 16 million viewers and on Wednesday night, AMERICAN IDOL delivered a 5.1 RA18-49 with 15.8 million viewers…even with adjustments…THE VOICE wins…not sure about last night…but THE VOICE seems to be THE SHOW…I don’t want to say anything but…I called this one, and I am loving the battle.

-I read about these crazy job titles that actually exist at Google…fun to share on a Friday:
·         Dance Program Manager-they teach dance & yoga to employees ( We sort of have this here at Verizon)
·         Nutritionist-insures that Google’s FREE food is healthy or that healthy options are provided (We have this too)
·         Food Scientist-These guys conduct experiments related to free food—example: the effect of putting M&M’s in clear vs. opaque containers (just a theory here…and I am not a scientist…PEOPLE WOULD EAT MORE OF THEM)
·         Childcare Center Preschool Teacher-that one made me say “WOW” out loud
·         Massage Therapist
·         Ergonomics Specialist-they make sure your workstation is adjusted right so you don’t get carpal tunnel or a bad back-I NEED THIS PERSON
·         Fitness Program Manager-(We have this here at Verizon)
·         Transportation Program Manager-coordinates commuter shuttles, on campus bikes and anything to help employees get around
·         Jolly Good Fellow-really…he teaches MINDFULNESS as part of a program called Search Inside Yourself
·         Green Team Lead
·         Intergalactic Federation King Almighty and Commander of the Universe.  This woman handles Google’s space projects.

- Another local television station, getting on board and embracing the social media space…KABC-TV in Los Angeles and Trendrr.TV are teaming up to spotlight the top 20 most talked about topics during the station's live coverage of the Oscars' red carpet this Sunday night. In a series of live segments, titled "Red Hot Right Now," on-air correspondents will tap Trendrr's real-time social media processing and conversation curation capabilities in order to cover the buzz surrounding the Academy Awards. If you're going to be away from the television set, you can access a live-stream of the "pregame show" at OnTheRedCarpet.com, as well as keep track of the Trendrr leaderboard while you watch.  Again…I spent 20 years on the local side of things, so special place in my heard for local TV stations that know what they are doing.
-I am not sure how I will be experiencing the OSCARS on Sunday…I know I want to use the official App, but I also want to Viggle, as there are 10,000 points up for grabs…that’s another free movie ticket!  Also, MTV is covering the Red Carpet in addition to all the usual coverage, so, I have a feeling it will look like NASA in my family room on Sunday night…plus…I always order Peking Duck for dinner…just thought you’d all want the visual…
WWTM’s Weekend Movie Rental Suggestion: SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE which was the best picture winner from 2008
