WATCHING WAY TOO MUCH 3/19/11

-MARCH MADNESS is here and surprisingly enough, so far I am doing pretty well in the
CFF Bracket Challenge (our own family competition).  On Thursday night, CBS Sports
and Turner Sports exclusive second round coverage across TBS, CBS, TNT & TNT
COMBINED to deliver its highest numbers in 20 years with a 5.7.  (Right now I only
have Household numbers, not demos but it's still interesting) This is up 24% from a 4.6
for the same time periods combined last year.


-Of course IDOL regardless of MARCH MADNESS, Japanese Tsunami's, new hosts, etc.
wins the night  and the 8-9p time period with a 5.6 rating and 19.6 million viewers.  
From 9-10p, BONES with 11.9 million viewers and a 3.4.  At 10p 30 ROCK (CFF) with
4.2 million viewers and a 1.7. 


-JERSEY SHORE fell for the 2nd week in a row but the madness continues people...it
still resulted in 6.5 million viewers and 3.4 rating for the night, tying for 3rd place. 
With the bulk of the NCAA games running on TBS, TNT and TRU-TV (used to be Court
TV) these numbers are aggregated into the above total MARCH MADNESS number. 
There was nothing else on cable that generated a number worth reporting.


-For all of you FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (CFF) fans.  I know you all already know that it
returns on April 15th (aka Tax day) but did you also know that TYRA (Adrianne Palicki)
has been cast as the new WONDER WOMAN slated for the fall?  It might make me
actually watch.


Can any of you (WITHOUT CHEATING) tell me who played the original Wonder
Woman?


-One last Charlie Sheen update for your weekend pleasure:  Charlie Sheen may have
figured out how to turn his flameout into a decent gig. His deal for the Violent Torpedo
of Truth show has him booked for 21-dates and taking home 85 percent of the profits,
with Live Nation getting the remaining 15 percent. Sheen's share is projected to
average between $250,000 and $275,000 per show, and with merchandising he's
expected to make $7 million a month. And since the show is basically just Sheen sitting
in a chair and talking, there's no overhead
