-Quick Monday Kelly update…I honestly didn’t care about Kelly, the dress, the
necklace, the shoes, or co-host D.L. Hughley at all yesterday, because one of
my new favorite guys…ICE-T was on the show.
He was as cool as always even with his bright red sneakers…Ice can pull
that off that’s how cool he is, plus I’m sure that Coco approved his outfit.
-On HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, Marshall explained that it was normal to
have sex dreams when you are pregnant when telling Ted and Barney about Lily…ladies,
did you have that side effect? Cause I
sure didn’t…a ton of other things…but definitely not that, and quite frankly I
would have much rather had the sex dreams than all the swollen feet, crazy
weight gain and a million other more disgusting things I experienced during pregnancy
with my ONE child…anyway…I digress.
Turns out, Lily’s sex dream was about Rajeet, Barney’s driver, which was
a funny twist…I thought it would be about Becki Newton, cause that one would
make sense. I hate that Barney and Robin
aren’t talking…I know that eventually they will, but they need to work it out
next week…it’s just too much for me to bare on a Monday night.
-Also upsetting is the amount of
crying going on over at Bethenny’s
apartment these days…I don’t know, but ever since she got 80 million bucks, the
cutest and best husband ever, a somewhat okay looking baby daughter and a
hugely successful career, she seems more miserable than ever and to be honest,
I am glad this is her last season…she was funny and interesting before…seeing
her and Jason this way just isn’t good for me, or her ratings. C’mon Bethenny…you have it all…enjoy it!
-I think all of the judges on THE VOICE are in morning for the loss
of Adam’s girlfriend Anna as they are all still wearing black and is it me or
has Adam STILL not changed his shirt? It’s sooo cute to see the bromance
between Adam and Blake…Adam and Maroon 5 performed last night and Xtina was
awesome, especially when she came out in her way to tight and way to revealing body
suit to sing Blake’s “Hillbilly Bomb” and then her own song “Stronger”. The director pulled the camera’s faaaaaaaaar
back and there were only close ups of Xtina from the boobs up, cause honestly…she
really shouldn’t have worn that spanksuit yet…they are miraculous but not THAT
miraculous…anyway, SPOILER ALERT: Jesse Campbell and Jordice Unga were both voted off. Jesse handled it well, but Jordice kept
cursing so they had to bleep her and turn her mic off. My favorite song of the night was Jermaine
Paul’s “Take a Look at me Now” anyone remember what movie that was from? (I
will make that today’s bonus trivia question)
-I still don’t watch DANCING WITH THE STARS, even with all
the hype over the now famous Cuban guy who is on the cover of People Magazine
this week, but I had been hearing all the rumors about Derek Hough and Maria
Menonous for awhile and apparently they kissed last night, so they are
officially a couple. Let’s see how that now affects the ratings…cynical…yes
-For any of you guys that watched SELLING SPELLING MANOR and were as
intrigued as I was, you may be sort of excited to know that HGTV has ordered
more episodes of the show, but will now follow Candy Spelling as she renovates
and furnishes her gazillion dollar penthouse condo in the sky. I will definitely be watching.
-So NBC pays Matt Lauer
25 million bucks a year to stay at THE
TODAY SHOW and today I read that For
the first time in 16+ years (since the week of 12/4/95), ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA topped the morning show ratings in weekly
Total Viewership for the week of April 9, 2012. The Nielsen ratings show GMA
(5.147) edging out NBC's Today
(5.134) show in weekly Total Viewers. GMA was up versus the same week last year
by +7% in Total Viewers, with Today down -9% for the same week…great timing
Matt!
-Next year will be 30 ROCK’s last and Alec Baldwin has
officially agreed to come back for the final season. No idea what HE is getting paid, but guessing
Matt Lauer will be paying for drinks when they bump into each other in the
Hamptons at Nick and Tony’s or whatever the groovy place in the Hamptons is (I’m
a Jersey shore girl…don’t know my Hamptons that well)
-Prior to coming to Verizon, I spent
20 years on the local broadcast side of the media business, so there is, and
will always be a soft side of my heart for local…I was reading this very
interesting article about local news…
- · ¾ of all adults consistently check local news outlets on a regular basis
- · 32% of participants in this research said that the loss of local news outlets would majorly impact their lives
- · The reliance of local news is consistent in all age groups but strongest for those women 40+
- · The younger population, 18-39 year olds use the greatest number of local news sources (4.38 weekly)
- · Older folks use 2-3 sources per week
- · 80% of adults over 40 get their local news from television broadcasts
- · ½ of the adults surveyed said they used “word of mouth” , radio and newspapers
- · Under 40 year olds use local station websites, local newspaper websites and social networks
By
2016, over 110 million Americans will watch video content on a mobile phone
at least once a month.
- · This would equate to about a third of the total U.S. population.
- · 19.3% of the population, or 25.2% of U.S. mobile phone users, watch video content on a mobile phone at least once a month
- By 2014, a third of U.S. consumers (42.4% of mobile phone users) will access social networking sites via mobile devices at least once per month.
- Looking at Facebook specifically: The number of mobile users who tap into the mobile version of Facebook to jump to 93.9 million by 2014.
- The number of mobile music listeners will almost triple between 2011 and 2016, jumping from 30.9 million to 81.3 million. (This includes music that is directly downloaded or streamed to phones at least once a month).
-I was at a “summit” yesterday and one of the
facts that I heard just blew me away…guess how
many websites there are right now…no
seriously guess…nope…nope…ahhhh forget it, you will never guess, so let me just
tell you…drumroll…
346,004,403 yep..and growing every day! Crazy right!
-Another good one…there were 19 billion search
queries in the month of March and 43 billion clicks to play a video of some
kind…
The rest of this week will be
devoted to TV Pets & Animals…
