6th Grade Homework is killing me! The Voice, Smash and The Real Housewives Reunion's all I Got In Last Night

April starts completely fresh, so remember to get all of your correct Trivia answers in regardless of what time it is.  They all count toward the monthly prize!

The answer to Tuesday's Trivia Question: Wow! What a response rate to yesterdays question! I think it was a record breaker.  Couple of firsts: One loyal reader was in email jail and called personally to get her answer in! Then, another loyal reader was the only person to
FIRST FIVES: Karen Hadley, James Schiro, Ed Ziskind Neil Strahl, & Katie McCartney

Honorable Mention:Heather Doyle

Super Honorable Mention goes to Melissa Mattiace for knowing that there was really 2 possible answers to Tuesday's question.  I was looking for Steve Carrell, but Mindy Kalling would have been acceptable as well! Congrats Melissa!

The Voice
Usher's left leg was propped up, everyone was still in the same clothes and I've been meaning to discuss the tiny holes in Adam's white T-Shirt.  These look like moth holes or something. I can't imagine he paid for those holes, but, who knows?  As always, lots of great performances. My personal fave was Patrick Dodd who made it to Team Adam, but the best part of the show was really the first audition when Audrey Karrasch sang "Price Tag" and Blake turned around first. Adam didn't turn around at all and when he went to talk to her, she give him crap about not turning around. I loved her for it even though she dissed my boy.  I think everyone was shocked that she chose Usher over Blake.  This girl's got somethin...balls I think you'd call them.

Splash
I can't even describe the oddness of Joey Lawrence's hair on Splash. Joey was sooo cute back in the day.  What happened to him?  Last night they even showed a photo of his super cool hair from back in the Blossom days.  Now, the color is odd, the cut is odd, and he looks a bit overbotoxed in the forehead region.  Let's get back to diving. This week, the "celeb" divers were paired up for team diving.  Oddest pairing? Kareem Abdul Jabar and Louis Anderson hilarious.  Nicole Eggert and Brandi Chastain were all psyched to be paired up together deeming themselves the "Mom divers".  Then, Greg Louganis and Dave ripped off their shirts, donned their Speedos and showed the "celebs" how it's done. Man, Greg Louganis looks amazing...he's freaking 53 years old!  Melissa Joan Hart, Joey's co-star, on Melissa and Joey (so original) was in the audience to chat with Joey and conveniently promote their show that returns in May. Drake and Katherine Webb, who's like a foot taller than him, did a really cool dive and I think  Katherine had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction after hitting the water. Kendra's annoying fear of heights forced her to screw over her partner and get eliminated. So all that suspense for NOTHING! No voting necessary, Kendra's just sent packing. Kendra's a killbuzz.

Real Housewives Reunion Part 2
Pretty much a continuation of Real Housewives Reunion of Part 1.  Lots of tears, lots of fighting, and Andy trying to keep everyone calm.  I don't know if it was my imagination, but Andy really seemed to be irritated more than normal

Cougar Town

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-Bravo announced a ton of new shows for the 13/14 season. 17 to be exact. That's a LOT! I'll read about thme all and check out the videos and get back to you on which ones I'll be watching. They also renewed a ton of our faves: Shahs of Sunset, Flipping Out, Housewives of NJ, NY, BH, Miami and Atlanta, Top Chef, Million Dollar Listing, Vanderpump Rules, and of course Watch What Happens Live (What's Andy going to do, fire himself?). I didn't see Million Dollar Decorators on the list of renewals or Orange County Housewives. Waiting for some confirmations.

-I didn't think it needed to even be announced, but HBO formerly announced that Game of Thrones season 4 is guaranteed. Duh guys!

Wednesday's Trivia Question: Continuing the TV/Movie connecton theme,  I name a TV show and a movie that share a common actor or actress. So here goes: General Hospital and St. Elmo's Fire.  Name the actress.

VIKINGS
Super hot Ragnar, not quite as hot Rollo and all the Viking guys came home from their big trip west with a whole bunch of treasures feeling pretty proud of themselves.  Of course it didn't last long because they all got screwed over by the Earl when he took everything and buried it along with a kid his man took as collateral from some woman on Ragnar's farm.  (I didn't really get that part) The Earl did let Ragnar keep the priest for himself.  I gotta admit, the priest is kinda cute and I think Ragnar's wife agrees with me since she and Ragnar invited him into their bed for a little action.  The priest, being a man of god, declined the offer explaining that it would be a sin, but I think he was regretting it.  Ragnar had many questions for the priest and is really interested in learning from him.  He went back to the Earl and asked permission to set sail again and permission was granted. This time, Ragnar brought  his kick ass wife and left the priest on the farm to take care of the family.  The crew landed on the shores of North Umbria and Ragnar did his best for a friendly meeting, but Rollo didn't trust the strangers and of course a bloody battle broke out.  I can pretty much predict that Rollo and Ragnar are going to go up against each other soon and I can also predict that the Earl is going to use the rift between the bro's to his advantage.

SPLASH
What a crazy ass show this one is.  I thought the last diving show on FOX was ridiculous but Splash is better.  You have some girl I never heard of and Joey Lawrence hosting.  Joey has officially jumped the shark. He was soooo cute and now he has a very big head with very little hair and the hair he does have left is a very strange color and a very strange shape. He sort of looks like an alien or something.  Then you have Greg Louganis as the coach for everyone.  Greg is in amazing shape but he is ultra ultra tan and I guess I never heard him speak before because his voice is odd.  There are 2 judges both of whom are diving experts. If I told you their names it would mean nothing to you, so not going to even try to remember.  All I can say is that the scoring of the divers dives made absolutely no sense at all.

Only 5 of the "celebrities" dove last night.
First up, Keshia Knight Pulliam, aka Rudy from The Cosby Show...nice rack, crazy bathing suit and not the greatest dive in the world.
After Rudy, Louis Anderson, the 400 lb comedian, in a very disturbing bathing outfit gave it a shot. In addition to the weight, he had some pretty crazy teeth.  Louis couldn't even get out of the pool by himself. It was really embarrassing and awkward, but he was able to get to the high board and dive so I have to give him a bit of credit for trying.
Miss Alabama, Katherine Webb's bathing suit was HIDEOUS, but she is very pretty.  I can see what Brent Musberger was talking about. She did okay diving wise.
Skier, Rory Bushfield was very cute and since he's an extreme skier he had little fear of the high board and he had the ability to spin around like crazy in the air.  He did an amazing job.
Kareem Abdul Jabar is 65 years old and is extremely large. He was  sporting a crazy Laker swimsuit.  Unfortunately he landed on his belly pretty hard.

After everyone dove, the bottom two, Rudy and Miss Alabama had a dive off.  Rudy got the boot.  Sorry to see her go.  I couldn't end this review without mentioning the synchronized swimmers who did their thing coming in and out of breaks. It totally reminded me of the Brady Bunch Variety Show. Remember that one?   This show is a bit ridiculous, and I'm not giving it a season pass, but if there is nothing better to watch...I'd watch again.

COUGAR TOWN
There was so much packed in to one 22 minute episode of Cougar Town last night.  Who writes this stuff? You had the town infested with seagulls, Andy always saying "as mayor", Ellie only wearing sweatpants, Grayson not believing in God, Grayson and the gang joining a Dodge Ball team where his belief in personal prayer (not God) helped them win, the young girl in the tight jeans, Bobby and his new "friend Riggs," and Riggs's makeover. With all that going on, I couldn't get past Laurie's see through nurses outfit dress that she seemed to wear for the entire episode even though it took place over multiple days.  It was really something to see. I guess that's why they kept her in it so long.

LITTLE PEOPLE,BIG WORLD: CONQUERING MT. ST. HELENS
When we last left the Roloff's they were bored and decided to get into the wedding business.   Since that's pretty much a seasonal deal, Amy's back to being bored again.  She's 50, all of her kids are pretty much out of the house and instead of cleaning the place up, she decided that what will get her out of her funk is to climb Mt. St. Helens.  She and her son Zach decide to do it together along with her trainer David and his wife.  Amy and Zach are both really little so it's quite a challenge and I'm pretty sure they didn't have any training other than what we saw on the show.  It was really rough terrain, and as much as Amy bugs the crap out of me, it was inspiring to see her push herself to achieve this goal. Of course it's TV and she made it.  8365 feet.  Congrats Amy.  While Amy and Zach were climbing, Matt was building a little red schoolhouse for her since she used to be a preschool teacher.  Of course there was a completely staged "accident" when they were moving the structure out of the barn, but it  still got done in time as planned.  It's TV. Of course it was.  What was really the best part of the show was Amy's reactions to both the school house and reaching the summit.  For once some real emotion out of her.  I liked seeing her nice to Matt for a change. Okay Amy...now...please clean your house. I'm begging you.  Before the next "very special episode" clean it up.

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-Finally got some numbers on Downton Abbey's third season and just as I suspected they are pretty amazing.  The show averaged a 7.7 Household rating with an average season audience of 11.5 million viewers. This is up 64% vs season 2.  Downton's season finale averaged an 8.1 Household rating with an average audience of 12.3 million viewers and was the number #2 show of the night.  24 million viewers tuned in to the 7 episode season which was up by 7 million viewers from season 2.
  • Downton Abbey” video content has been viewed on the PBS Video Portal and the PBS Mobile app 13.9 million times to date.
  • Full episodes of Season 3 were viewed 9.7 million times, an increase of 2.1 million views over Season 2.
  • On the day after the Season 3 finale, there were 900,000 video streams and 600,000 unique visitors to the Masterpiece website — the most of any day in site history.
-It's pretty much a fact that people LOVE scary stuff. I am SO not one of those people but man there are a lot of you twisted people out there who love to be scared. Supporting my statement...Bates Motel's premiere Monday night delivered 4.6 million viewers.  This is the  networks most-watched original drama series debut among the key 18-49 and 25-54 demos
to date. See what I mean?

-Do you guys know about TED? I've been a fan for a while and keep forgetting to bring it up in this blog.  TED is a website and and app where you can see some amazing "talks" from all over the world. It started out as a conference that centered on technology (that's the "T" part) entertainment ("E") and Design ("D"). The TED conference takes 50 of the worlds best ideas to a very eclectic audience,  who, I learned in a Jack Myers article, pay 7500 bucks to attend.  I've seen some amazing speakers who have opened my brain up to things I would normally never think about.  If you have nothing better to do and are looking for something interesting to watch...give it a shot. RIght off the bat, 3 talks that I'd recommend are: Amanda Palmer's, Elizabeth Gilbert's and Lauren Zalaznick's.  If you want to learn more about TED, check out the Jack Myers article here: http://www.jackmyers.com/jackmyers-think-tank/TED-Ads-Worth-Spreading-Advertising-Can-Change-the-World.html.

-HBO cancelled Enlightened.  Sorry guys, I know there's a ton of you that love this one.

There really wasn't much on to write about, and I since I have my first head cold in 10 years,  I wasn't able to live up to the title of this blog at all last night. So today will be a mini edition.

Real Husbands of Hollywood
If you recall, my friend Brett urged me to check this one out.  I owe him for pushing me into the world of Walter White and Breaking Bad, and since there wasn't much of anything on last night, I figured I'd use the opportunity.  Sorry Brett...I tried.  Now granted, I was doped up on cold medicine but I'm pretty sure that with or without the Benedryl,  I'd hate RHOH.  I like everyone in the show, I just didn't like the show.  If I got it right, it's a fake/spoof of the somewhat fake Real Housewives franchise.  I get it...at least I think I do, but it just wasn't that funny at all.  I also felt the need to defend my housewives...the real/fake ones, over on Bravo. So...no season pass award for this one.

Cougar Town
This weeks episode of Cougar Town was really pretty good.  Jules, played by the queen of Must See TV, Courtney Cox, had never heard of Seinfeld or Must See TV and throughout the entire episode, Seinfeld references were woven into the script and Jules had no clue.  It was really pretty clever, especially when she Yada Yada Yada'ed during therapy.  Why did Jules need therapy?  C'mon you really shouldn't have to ask if you've been watching for a while now.  This weeks topic, "the vault".  If you're not sure what I'm talking about, it's when you tell your husband or BFF a secret...they put it in the vault and it's NEVER supposed to come out, but when Jules showed the crew Grayson in an Alannis Morrisette video she allowed them all into their fault which pissed Grayson off.  Jules wanted a vaultless world, but when the cul d sac crew explained that it would be impossible, she fake friended her therapist hoping to have her confirm that the Jules way was the healthy way.  The head shrinker didn't agree at all took Jules to her therapist after she found out that Jules fake friended her. Also of note, Andy apparently ran for Mayor and forgot that he  won.  Other than Laurie, none of  his pals showed up to see him conduct his first ribbon cutting ceremony and the giant scissors needed to cut said ribbon.  Laurie couldn't keep his disappointment in the vault so they made it up to him and celebrated later.  Oh...INTEGRATION alert...this part of the blog is brought to you by the entire part of Cougar Town that took place at Bobby and Travis's local Target store.  Apparently when you just need to get away on a staycation, your local Target is THE perfect destination. Not sure who wrote last nights episode, but when an integration is done right, it's works and this one would have made the 30 Rock crew proud. In my opinion Tina Fey and team are the best at product placements and integrations.  Well, Bill Lawrence did a great job with this one. Totally reminded me I need to get over to Target this weekend for Easter stuff.

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-Now that  Bachelor, Sean Lowe (no relation to Rob or Chad that I know of)  got the girl, he's off to get some first dance prep over on Dancing with the Stars.  I guess nobody works anymore huh? This guy is just going to make the reality show rounds and collect a paycheck.  While he's learning the tango, Desiree Hartsock will be trying to find love herself when the next cycle of The Bachelorette premieres.

We didn't have any drama today in the Carruba house, and traffic was light, so when I got home I decided to check out the Sunday premiere of The Bible on History Channel.  As you can see from the ratings above, the show delivered 13.1 million viewers.  Significantly more than cable powerhouse, The Walking Dead. I have to caveat this by saying, I know nothing about The Bible, I've never read it and really had no interest in it at all.  I feel really weird about reviewing the show. Religion is a very controversial subject and I don't really want to get myself into any hot water with all of you awesome readers,  so here's what I will say.  The show is not for me. It's well produced and the acting is strong, but it's just not my thing.  I'd rather not go into why, I feel this way.  For the first time since I've been posting this blog, I feel uncomfortable, but rather than avoid it, I figured, I'd let you know and just move on.  I am curious what you guys have to say though.  If you watched and you liked it...I get it.  If you watched and you didn't like it...I get that too.  If you didn't watch at all, I'd say you should check it out and let me know your thoughts.  If there's enough feedback, perhaps I'll come back to this topic, but for now...I'm movin on.

I used to comment on Ali Wentworth's Yahoo mini-show, The Daily Shot. I liked the show and thought Ali and I should be friends. (Not like me and Jimmy at all...totally different)  Then the show disappeared for a while and I had some inside scoop that it was being revamped and that Ali was getting some "work done".  Well, yesterday, The Daily Shot returned to Yahoo and I'm pretty sure I was right on both counts.  Ali looks better than ever and the show is completely different. She's calling the new show "the earliest late night talk show you can get"  I like the concept.  Ali's sidekick is gone and she's alone with one guest for the entire 5 minutes of her broadcast.  So far the shows off to a good start. I'm interested to see where it goes and how it evolves.  I love Ali and I'm glad she's back on my laptop and cell phone again!

On Hart of Dixie, Zoe and the entire town of Bluebell are dealing with Wade's cheating in various ways.  Zoe started out depressed and then moved on to angry.  The town is treating Wade like a leper and baking Zoe a million pies. LeVon and George are both really pissed at Wade and so am I, but I also feel bad for Wade too.  Of course the town can't focus on Wade and Zoey forever. This is Bluebell and they have a church casino night fundraiser to put together in less than a week.  No trouble at all though.  This tiny Alabama town in the middle of nowhere has everything. Gaming tables, neon signs, costumes...the works.  I guess when you throw some sort of themed event every few days you keep your closets and garages stocked forever. Dr Noah Breeland is still in town helping out with the sick folks in town and trying desperately to sleep with Zoe.  I think she should just do it, but so far, she's not taking the bait.  Brick wants Shelby to move in with him but needs the girls to be okay with it. Of course they aren't and I hate this storyline. Now we have to wait until 4/9 when Hart of Dixie returns to find out about Zoe and Wade.  Damn you CW!

The Bible took a lot out of me, so I never got to Cougar Town or Smash...I'll get to both tonight, I'm sure.

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-Justin Timberlake is hosting SNL this week and then heads over to my FBFF's for an entire week.  I love Justin and will actually try to stay awake and watch the show live.  Here's the promo they're running for the show...it's so Justin and SO good.  http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/snl-promo-justin-timberlake/n33549/

-Jon Stewart is going to be taking a 12 week break from The Daily Show this Summer.  Well, it's not a real break where he's sitting on his butt eating chips and dip and playing games on his Ipad.  He's actually going to be directing a film that he wrote called Rosewater.  While he's gone, John Oliver is going to take the news desk.  John's a regular on the show, but it could be interesting to see how he "covers" for Jon in his absence and what that does to the numbers.  You know I'll be watching the numbers (I don't do news)

-Man what I wouldn't give to sit at the breakfast table with Julie Chen and Les Moonves every morning.  I'm betting that Julie knows so much inside info and I'm hear Julie if you feel the need to share.  I wonder when she found out that Dexter's 8th season would be its last? Dexter's one of those shows on my binge watch list...I've never watched it but I've always wanted to, so I guess now that there's officially a final season coming, I can get started.

-Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grade...baker? I know, I'm getting my shows confused...It's the Jeff Foxworthy factor.  He's going from rednecks to 5th graders to bakers.  Jeff's going to host the new CBS Summer American Baking Competition show starting at the end of May.  Supposedly this show was a huge hit in England which means it has to be a hit here too.  I don't know about this one though. I actually love to bake, and used to love Cupcake Wars, but not sure how this show will do and now with the announcement that Foxworthy's the host, I'm really not sure...I'm not even making an prediction.
-I don't really do sports in this blog, and everyone really knew about the new Fox Sports 1 network that will launch in August, but I'm really happy that Regis Philbin's getting a gig out of it.  I'm guessing he'll talk about his beloved Notre Dame, but he's a big time sports fan and TV misses having him around.  I'm glad he's gonna be back!  Yeah Reeeege!

The MTV Movie Award Nominations came out last night.  I'm not sure I'll do as well predicting the winners of these, but I'm sure going to give it a shot, I mean you know how much I love an awards show!  Here's the list, my picks are in red:

-I took the opportunity Tuesday night to catch up on as much as I could. (And I'm still not done)  I didn't watch the President (Please...no judging) I did watch my FBFF's spoof on the State of the Union though and of course it was hilarious...you guys HAVE to check it out...seriously:
http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/blogs/2013/02/boehner-gets-emotional-during-state-of-the-union/

-I wish you guys could see the stupid grin I have on my face when I watch shows that I love.  I had that look for every second of Sunday's 2 hour Downton Abbey.  So much happened this week, that I'm not even sure the best way to go about recapping it all.

Let's talk about Thomas first.  Okay he's gay, we got that. O'Brian and her evil tendrills, totally screwed him over by convincing him to make a move on James. I'm surprised Thomas trusted her, and I'm equally surprised that a blonde's was Thomas's type. Slim pickins I guess.  So, he made a move, James freaked out, Alfred saw the whole thing and O'Brian seized the opportunity and convinced James to insist that Thomas not only resign but that he leave without a reference.  What a BEEEATCH!  I could go on and on, but net/net, Lord Grantham, Mrs. Hughes and even Mr. Bates helped Thomas out.  I loved Lord Grantham's handling of the entire situation. Bottomline is that not only does Thomas stay, he got promoted to a job nobody's ever hear of before...underbutler.  I would have missed Thomas if he had gotten the boot,  even though I hated him.  Plus, who would O'Brian torture if Thomas was gone?

How funny was Mr. Mosley?  OMG I was hysterical when he was talking about cricket and  "cherishing the ball".  Loved how we were lead to believe he was a kick ass cricket player and ended up sucking.  Even his  Dad knew his plight.  Poor guy.  Speaking of the cricket match...where did everyone get their cricket apparel?  Did they have Ye Olde Sports Authority in Downton? Everyone matched so well, even the staff.  If everyone's wearing the same outfit, how do you tell the teams apart? Isn't it hard to play cricket in a sweater vest?

Cousin Rose came to Downton and the second she arrived she made a few calls, headed to London and partied like a rock star with a married man.  Of course The Dowager Countess tricked her daughter and found out the scoop about Rose right away and is sending her away from Downton asap. Same goes for Ethel she's leaving Mrs. Crawley and Downton too.  Lady Violet is the master.

Seems like everyone is over Lady Cybils death pretty quickly, no?  They had the christening, the cricket match and got right back to their regular routine of  getting dressed, eating, taking a walk and getting undressed. Exhausting life right?

Branson has decided to stay on at Downton. Help with the new farming plans and raise baby Cybil with her family.  And finally, after both sneaking trips to London to see the same fertility doctor, (back then, I'm sure there was only one) Matthew and Mary can now officially start baby making.  I can't believe next week is the finale.  It went so fast didn't it?

-On Monday nights Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,  Kyle and Lisa hashed out all their differences before Lisa threw the typical, over the top, tea party at her over the top new house that looks like a hotel and has been named and prominently labeled "Villa Rosa".  Taylor arrived with a vibrator as a hostess gift which just seemed weird to me and then, leave it to Brandi to make things weirder when adding butt beads and a threesome to the conversation.  I'm sure it's all for shock value, especially with this bunch of women.  Lisa hired the young hot waiters from Sur, her restaurant and her spin-off, to look hot and work the party.  Camille showed up late and brought a house warming gift and Pandora's wedding gift which according to my calculations is a year late. Couldn't Camille have sent Pandora the gift directly? Hasn't she heard of UPS or Fed Ex? Of course the Adrienne/Brandi lawsuit came up at the party which lead to yet another screaming match and this time it was Brandi who stormed out of the house.   Kim called at the last minute to apologize for not making it as her dog hit her in her new nose...allegedly.  Oh and Yolanda couldn't make it either...she was off feeling bad about not being able to afford a stable of horses for her daughter.  A) I don't believe she can't afford a stable of horses and if she can't...sell some lemons and B) Why does 1 girl need more than 1 horse? Next week...another party and another huge blowout...and that's just a guess.

Ever since Cougar Town moved to TBS, Courtney Cox's outfits have become skimpier and skimpier  Sure she has a nice rack, but there were 3 different times during last nights episode where I thought for sure there'd be a wardrobe malfunction, and fines issued from the FCC.  Anyway, in this "very special" Valentines episode, Grayson got hit in the mouth with a hockey puck which caused Jules to suffer from insomnia and do crazy things in the middle of the night keeping everyone else up.  For Valentines Day, Bobby gave Grayson his "Jules Rules" notebook which came in handy for Grayson until he started feeling guilty about it and returned the book.  I'm sort of getting annoyed with how mean Ellie is to Andy.  I know he gets her, but to run and hide from your man so that you don't have to sleep with him is just plain mean. I know it's "the joke" but I need to see her soft spot every once in a while.  I don't even want to go into the reason Travis and his new girlfriend were hanging from harnesses because it's just creepy.

Wade and Zoe and Hart of Dixie were back from their holiday break last night. When we last left these two, they had decided to actually give the boyfriend/girlfriend thing a shot.  Now they are a month in and waiting for their first fight just as the town of Blue Belle was preparing for Pioneer Day.  Blue Belle seems to always have a festival, a party,
a celebration, a wedding or something in the town square where massive amounts of costumes and props are needed, sort of like The Vampire Diaries if ya think about it (maybe it's a CW thing). The Pioneer theme sounds hokey but everyone actually looked pretty good in their costumes. The good news is that Wade was shirtless before and after Pioneer Day which of course made the episode extra delightful.  I wonder if Rachel Bilson is getting any of that in her trailer?  Hmmmm.  Oh well, I digress...Zoey was following old world advice she was given and wouldn't let herself get angry at Wade with the goal being to not have that first fight . Of course this drove Wade nuts, so he pulled out all the stops  to get her to explode, which she finally did... at the big Pioneer festival after Wade let a raccoon into her apartment to snack on one of her million dollar Louboutin shoes. Of course they agreed to fight in the future and went back to getting naked.  In addition to Zoey and Wade's issues, Brick was sleeping with Shelby and asking George Tucker for advice.  Then there was the "I don't really care" storyline where Lemon and Annabeth catered Pioneer Day. Hart of Dixie's too cute.  It really is, but they need to figure out what to do with Lemon and Lavon...soon.

Whoever does the wardrobe on Cougar Town does a really good job. I feel like every week there is something that somebody is wearing that I want to hunt down. Usually it's Courtney Cox's blouse or necklace, but this week it was Ellie's top that I now need to search for.  Other than the wardrobe, the guys all decided to grow (or glue on) thick Tom Sellecky mustaches which I found funny since Monica on Friends, used to date Tom Selleck. Maybe Courtney has had a mustache thing ever since? The gang didn't drink as much wine as usual, and they almost killed their neighbors cat this week. I was sort of confused with the Grayson storyline in this episode.  He claimed to be homophobic but exhibited signs of someone who was VERY comfortable with his feminine side and gave this whole "lets not judge" speech when his bar become a gay bar. Not sure I got it, but I thoroughly enjoy the show and now I have to hunt down that top. Is there an app that does that yet?

Only 2 episodes of Parenthood left so I was glad that this one wasn't a sad one.  Of course there was drama but, shockingly enough, I did not shed one tear from last nights episode at all. I'm becoming more and more of a Crosby fan this season. I'm sure that knowing that Dax Shepherd is a Howard Stern fan and BFF's with Bradley Cooper, that I'm becoming more of a fan, but this season Crosby is really maturing and isn't so much of a screw up anymore. When Julia broke down about adopting Victor, it was Crosby who reminded Julia that he basically inherited a kid as well when Jabar showed up on his doorstep (well actually on his bow, because he lived on a boat at the time).  Crosby also stuck up to Jasmine's mom, and Jasmine and was right on all counts which was refreshing. The best part of the episode was Max's big vending machine win, thanks to his Mom. So glad that there was no mention of cancer (other than the bald head and scarf) this week.  I think we all need to know the name of the actor that plays Max Braverman. He's brilliant and deserves some sort or recognition.  Max Burkholder...don't forget it. Also pretty touching was the fight for Sarah between Hank and Mark. I guess we will find out her choice next week...or next season.  Can't believe the finale is next week.  It's been a great season, thanks to Jason Katims and the entire Parenthood cast.  You guys all rock!

Rob Lowe was on Jimmy Kimmel last night plugging his Casey Anthony movie and of course Parks and Recreation and damn he looks good.  No, he's not 50 yet, only 48 but the guy is just aging perfectly. I don't believe it was in his book, but he brought up that he had auditioned for Footloose but tore his ACL on the audition and couldn't do the movie.  Of course we can't imagine anyone BUT Kevin Bacon in that role, but it got me thinking about Rob as Ren McCormick...it actually could have worked if you think about it during your commute like I did this AM.

One of Rob's childhood friends, Charlie Sheen, was on Jimmy Fallon's show last night. He was sweaty and hyper but seemed okay and announced that his 28 year old, married, daughter is pregnant, which means that Charlie is going to be a grandfather.  Lets think about THAT for a minute. Even with that news, the best part of the interview was when my FBFF imitated Charlie to Charlie's face. He loved it and of course Jimmy was spot on.  Man I love that guy...Jimmy, not Charlie, just to be clear there.

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-It's cancelled, it's not cancelled, Netflix is saving the show, now it's not.  Looks like AMC has finally decided to uncancel (is that a word?) The Killing  which will be coming back for a 3rd season for all of you that were waiting for some news on this show.

-First Emblem 3 and now Tate Stevens, who won X Factor last season, has signed with Simon Cowell and Syco. Not a huge surprise, but thought you'd be interested.

-Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva is officially cancelled after 4 seasons. Never seen it.

-Here's an amazing factoid:
  • 182 million Americans watched 38.7 billion videos online and 11.3 billion ads all in the month of December. WOW!
  • 84.9% of the US web audience watched online video
  • Average duration of an online video was 5.4 minutes
  • Video ads accounted for 22.6% of all videos viewed and 1.9% of all minutes spent watching online video
-I'm sure you heard that Facebook unveiled its new Graph Search product, yesterday.  I don't admit to being an expert AT ALL on any of this, so bare with me.  This product is basically an internal search engine that provides personal answers about your Facebook friends. If it works the way they are saying it should it, could play a big role in how users search for and discover new content to watch online. Graph Search's interest-based technology would be able to pull up personalized lists of videos, movies, and TV shows, based on what a user's Facebook friends "like" and recommend.  I'm interested but concerned yet again about the privacy piece...I guess we will wait and see.
