We all waited patiently, and finally...NEWSROOM...what did you think?  I thought it was good...was it great?  Not yet, but it could be...look, I am truly an Aaron Sorkin disciple.  I'm probably not intelligent enough to get every reference, but I like being challenged and I like my mind to be provoked and made useful, and that's what Sorkin has the ability to do.  Ya gotta keep up, you gotta pay attention and you have to care.  I did...I am definitely in on this one...at least for now.  The writing is tight, the acting strong and it did feel a bit West Wingy to me...so I'm giving NEWSROOM the season pass on my Tivo.  I would love to hear from you guys.  Let me know if you watched and what you thought.  I think most of you will agree with me...but I am open to debate as always.

-Prior to NEWSROOM was the FOX 25th ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL, hosted by...who else...Ryan Seacrest, because Ryan is the only host out there...it would have been cool since they were doing reunions to bring back Brian Dunkelman but they didn't go that far...I hate to say it, but  I remember when the FOX network first launched and I remember all of the shows they highlighted last night.  It was great to see so many cast reunions, funny how Ashton and Mila are now a couple when they started out together on THAT 70's SHOW...they don't look much different now then they did then.

-THE DAYTIME EMMY'S aired Saturday night on HLN, the Headline News Network, odd since apparently the Daytime Emmy's are not exciting enough to be on any one of the BIG 4 networks and actually make headlines...but as far as I'm concerned there was some big news that came out of the show...first and foremost, REGIS & KELLY won for Outstanding Talk Show Hosts and also for best Talk Show... Pretty sure this is the first time the show has won...ironic since it finally wins when Regis finally leaves.   THE TODAY SHOW beat out GOOD MORNING AMERICA for best Morning Program (CBS's Morning show was not even nominated) and GENERAL HOSPITAL won for best Drama Series. I love a good awards show, but when it isn't broadcast in HD, and it's hard to find, even I ended up following it all online.

-Lifetime picked up DEVIOUS MAIDS for the Fall.  This is the new Marc Cherry/Eva Longoria show that will star, Susan Lucci.  Look at Lifetime getting in on the action...first THE CLIENT LIST and now DEVIOUS MAIDS.  Let's hope DEVIOUS MAIDS isn't a tease like THE CLIENT LIST is...these maids better be devious or people will start to get wise and rename Lifetime the tease network...oh...maybe that's what they are actually going for...now I get it.

-Another former AMERICAN IDOL loser, Jennifer Hudson will be joining Katherine McPhee on SMASH for a story arc in the Fall.  Doesn't it seem like, with the exception of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, most of the IDOL losers are doing better than the winners?  Think about it...Adam Lambert, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken & Katherine McPhee.  Even Jessica Sanchez, who came in second this season, will be joining GLEE for a story arc in the Fall...maybe it's better NOT to win IDOL?

-Marilyn Manson is heading over to CALIFORNICATION for a story arc in the next season.  I would have posted a photo, but it is just too scary for this early in the AM.

Just when I am starting to get sick of Justin Bieber and disheartened over my unacknowledged sleepover invitation to Jimmy Fallon, they come together and I fall hard again for both of them.  I think the hand hug  in this video will take over for the fist bump soon...only for non-germophobes though...if you didn't see this...check it out:

  • Nielsen finds that over 276 million Americans have internet access.

  • Americans on average spent 1 hour and 22 minutes on news sites in May 2012.
  • Out of 276 million people with internet access, Nielsen says 212 million were active online last month
  • They spent more than 29 hours each on average browsing the web.

The answer is: What game show host had a mild heart attack over the weekend?  Who is Alex Trebek?  The JEOPARDY host says he will be back in time to start shooting the new season in July. I was shocked when I read that Alex Trebek has been hosting JEOPARDY for 28 years!  I wonder how many questions he has asked over the years.

Monday's Trivia Question: Jeff Daniels plays Will McEvoy on NEWSROOM, but he was also in one of my favorite Jim Carrey Movies...anyone remember his charcter's name...first name is fine.
