Dear Steve Levitan, how could you ruin the Modern Family Halloween episode with WAY TOO MUCH LILY? What is wrong with all of you over there on that show? Lily sucks. Sorry for my blatant honesty, but she ruins the show. With so many amazing actors at your disposal, why in the world do you need to focus on Lily??? The only thing that WAS funny was when Lily gave up her princess costume and became Tattoo from Fantasy Island. "The plane, The plane" would have been way funnier if they were the ONLY lines spoken by TV's most annoying child EVER. Other than that the show was great. Sincerely yours, Kristy Carruba.
Finally saw Jenny's wedding on Flipping Out. Tommy Shaw from Styx sang, Mark Bouwer designed her dress and Chaz from the Wenn infomercials did her hair. It seemed like she had 600 people at her wedding but no idea just how many people were really in attendance. I'm sure Andy Cohen and the Bravo peeps picked up some of the bill which would make the happy couple even happier. Jenny looked really good and Jeff only mildly embarrassed himself and her. Loved Zoila in the wedding party and still can't stand Gage. Next week they all go back to therapy, this time Gage too! I think he could use some.

Quite the insane reward challenge on Survivor. The teams were playing for food and a dry shelter. They had to battle in mud and push an enormous wicker ball into a goal but all in a huge mud pit. Everyone pretty much came to a standstill. In an unprecedented move, Kalabaw gave up all of the rice they had back at their camp to Tandang in return for a great lunch, a shower and a temporary dry shelter. That has NEVER happened in the history of the game. While everyone was drying off and chowing down, they also received letters from home which made the realization that they currently have no rice back at camp a bit easier to deal with. Kalabaw's strategy didn't really work out very well since Jonathan couldn't catch any of the fish he promised and everyone was starving. The immunity challenge, was a pretty close game of slingshot catch. While secret MLB player, Jeff Kent did a great job catching for Kalabaw, Malcolm, who was filled with rice, won the challenge for Tandang sending the starving Kalabaws to Tribal. This week it was between Katie and Penner, but in an anticlimactic vote...Katie went home. I'm actually surprised since everyone was really pissed off about Jonathan's rice debacle.

I fell asleep before I got to see Suburgatory and Nashville, so I'll have to catch up tonight or tomorrow. I did get up early this morning and caught Axl Rose on Jimmy Kimmel which was really weird. Axl looks really different and seemed WAY too normal. Jimmy commented that he was surprised at how punctual Axl was and that they really weren't sure he'd show up. Axl didn't sing on the show, but he was chatty and seemed sort of calm.
I love anything that has to do with the White House and how it operates. I love the shows that describe behind the scenes in the White House kitchen, how they prep for the holidays and all that kind of stuff. So, I'm really psyched to check out Flipping the White House on Discovery this Sunday at 10pm. I set the DVR for it, since I'll be watching Homeland at that exact time, but I will not miss this one.
My FBFF Jimmy Fallon posted part 3 of his his debate coverage...again, I don't really do politics (still no judging please), but these are funny...check it out:
I heard this morning that the NBC owned and operated stations are going to launch something called Cozi TV. If I understand it correctly, the stations can take programmed blocks of time from Cozi TV, and preempt their regularly scheduled programming and replace it with the Cozi content. I think I have that right. The content being offered comes from NBC's movie and TV library and includes some of my OLD faves like The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman and Charlies Angels. Not sure when this all starts up, but I'd be happy to see Steve Austin and Jaime Somers again! Bring um on!
Also read that Android is supposedly going to overtake Windows and become the dominant operating system/software by the end of 2016. By the end of 2016, 2.3 billion computers, smartphones, and tablets will be powered by Android, versus 2.27 billion devices running on Windows. Predictions for 2012 include 1.5 billion devices running on Windows and 608 Android-powered devices by the end of this year. A lot of this shift over the next four years can then be attributed to the decline of the PC and the rise of smartphones and tablets as the premier computing devices. I can't imagine it will all change that fast, but then again, look at how much has changed in the past 5 years alone.
I work here at Verizon and had no idea we have something called "The Verizon FiOS Innovation Index." This apparently is a survey of US consumers that examined trends in connectivity, device adoption, and user experiences, and how advances in technology are leading consumers to live more connected and "borderless" lives. Here is what I've learned:
- Borderless consumers are those who own a laptop or desktop, a smartphone or tablet, usually have a device with Internet access on hand, are motivated to make technology and connectivity upgrades, and are interested in the benefits of a connected home.
- Borderless consumers currently constitute 39% of US adults, and that number is growing.
- 53% of these consumers are female
- 48% make over $75,000
- 51% are college graduates
- 46% are millennials
- 47% belong to Gen-X
- 40% are baby boomers
- 82% want to access their files and content on any device, at any time, from any place (versus 64% of non-borderless consumers)
- 61% want to control their TV/DVR using a tablet or smartphone (versus 23%).
- 89% still love watching live shows on TV (versus 90%).
