THE SHOWS
Survivor
I can't stand when people get angry at being outplayed. That's how everyone treated Kass when they got back from tribal. Morgan couldn't have been any more conceited and mean when describing her. What a b*tch. I hope she's happy when she sees herself on the show with her huge boobs bouncing all over the place. Apparently Outback Steakhouse opened a franchise on Survivor island and was giving away a free feast to the winners of the reward challenge. I wonder if I go to an Outback Steakhouse if there will be a secret clue in my napkin like the one Spencer got. So glad Woo knows his game and followed Spencer using his "Ninja Stealth Mode" and stole Spencer's clue. AWESOME game play. Each one of the alliances went on a mad tear to find the new immunity idol. After all the insanity, Spencer still found the idol RIGHT when as he was talking to Kass. Spencer didn't need to use it this week because he also won the immunity challenge. How crazy was it that Spencer started out furious with Kass for flipping but then went to her with a deal to re-flip and help him and his alliance?  Best quote of the night goes to Tony when describing the super lazy Morgan: "You can't tell if she's a pillow or a person." Hilarious and pretty accurate and it got her voted OUT! Yeah!

Flipping Out
Gramercy, the house Jeff and Gage were supposed to live in forever, was put on the market for 3.2 million bucks. It's a gorgeous house and Gage doesn't want to move and FINALLY he opened his mouth and told Jeff the truth. Gage is b*ll-less. He bugs me so much and I'm not alone, Zoila annihilates him on a regular basis and I love every minute of it. Jeff's clients, Jeanne and Tommy Shaw are leaving L.A. for Nashville and this week Jeff, Andrew and Jeanne were house hunting in Nashville together. Tommy is from the band Styx. Remember them? "Lights," "Best of Times," "Rockin the Paradise," ahhhh the 80's. We rarely see Tommy, but I'm guessing he's out there on tour as much as possible because Jeanne is out of her mind. If she talks to Tommy the way she talks to Jeff, I'm betting Tommy never comes home. Zoila's still wearing her B*tch bling, Andrew is still super inappropriate, and Jenny's still out on maternity leave. We need Jenny back asap. It's a human resources nightmare at Jeff Lewis Design.

The Americans
So I guess before Al Gore came up with the name "Internet" the Russians had already named it the "Arpanet." I think Internet's more catchy don't you? Must be…it stuck. 3 wigs this week and a lot of studying for the big lie detector test for Nina. She did well, and passed but  ended up naked in bed with Oleg the Russian dude not Beeman the FBI guy. I'm really not sure at all what the truth is at this point. Henry's sneaking into the neighbors house to play video games and Paige is sneaking out to go to a church youth group and Elizabeth and Phillip are sneaking out to kill people and steal secrets. Great family/bad wigs.

THE OTHER STUFF

-I'm actually pretty excited that Drake's hosting the ESPY's. He did a surprisingly awesome job hosting SNL. I'm betting he does a great job in this arena as well. ESPY's are on July 16th. Something to look forward to.

-I don't know what my record is for most episodes of a show watched in a row. Maybe the first season of 24? I think I watched like 12 one day and 12 the next. Not sure. I'm definitely a binger and I'm in to marathons but the FXX Simpsons event coming this Summer is nuts. The Simpsons is launching on the network with the longest continuous marathon EVER. 12 days, 552 episodes in a row. The marathon starts August 21st and will continue through Labor Day. Not a great way to spend the last days of Summer. I'll be on vacation in LBI, so that's not something I'll be doing, but I'm betting some crazy lunatic watches um all.

-I'm sure most of you don't know the name Charlotte Koh, but she WAS the head of original series development at Hulu. I'm sure she's a really nice person, but it wasn't much of a surprise to me when I read that she was "leaving her post" 2 days after Craig Erwich joined Hulu as head of content. Hulu's original content isn't that great. Definitely not as good as Amazon or Netflix. With SO many other competitors throwing their hats in the original content arena, you gotta be good. Hulu isn't. Maybe they will be now. Good Luck guys.

-I did work yesterday, I did, (ask my boss) but I also watched Rob Lowe on GMA, listened to Rob Lowe on Howard Stern (twice) watched Rob Lowe on Ellen and listened to 3 chapters of his new book "Love Life" and remember, I also watched him on Oprah the other day.  I'm not sick of him at all. I'm just obsessed. This happens to me from time to time. For any of you that want to see him in all his glory, check out Ellen's tribute: http://www.ellentv.com/videos/0-sq1ix4k2/

Sure Rob's awesome but that doesn't mean that I'm chucking Jimmy aside. It's two different types of obsessions really. Last night, the guy I want to share chips and salsa with, did a pretty cool duet with Stevie Nicks. Check it out: http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/segments/4176

Survivor
WTF was that? Were you as confused by tribal council as I was? Forget Sarah's dirty pink bra, Trish's super annoying beachfront yoga class and Woo's skeletoes.  Were LJ and Tony ever even in play? Not that I saw. Why on earth would they not only play the idols, but play them for each other when they weren't even on the chopping block? I'm fine with Sarah being voted out don't get me wrong.  She let the power go to her head super fast which is bad game play, she should have known better. I just didn't get the entire tribal council thing and I watched it all twice!

Suburgatory
Well, now we know about Dallas's southern huge-haired family and that very strange sound she makes when she's stressing. To help her out, Tessa got permission from George to miss school and jumped into a 78 Trans-Am we never knew Dallas owned and headed down somewhere very southern for her Mom's funeral. That family was a crazy piece of work and while we didn't actually meet Mom, we did find out she was a total b*tch. Dallas gave Tessa a southern makeover which was hilarious. Note to Jeremy Sisto: You don't need the botox. Please stop. You have great hair, a great face, a great body, who cares if you have some lines in the forehead? George, Fred and Noah went on a group date but only Fred was somewhat successful and of course he was just in wingman mode. Glad Noah's back though. Note to ABC, the cookie chick simulating what she was simulating was a little awkward for a Mom and her 12 year old during the 8:30pm hour, but we got through it. Could have used some of Tessa's Mallomars, but we got through it all snack free.

Modern Family
I wish last nights episode of Modern Family ran on Tuesday night instead of Wednesday, it would have been better for April Fools Day. Cam got me, I'm assuming he got all of you guys too right? I was completely convinced that he really loved and was touched by the soap carving cake topper that his Dad created with old, arthritic hands proving that he truly loves his son. Of course Mitch hated the cake topper and did everything possible to get rid of it. Mitch had already used his 3 wedding vetoes (I need to keep that veto thing in mind for future compromises and negotiations) so there was no way the cake topper was leaving. What we didn't know was that Cam intentionally served up the cake topper just to get Mitch to agree to another veto and then vetoed the wedding band who wasn't being cooperative. Damn that was a good plan. I really couldn't believe that after 5 years Gloria's ex-employer would let her just come in and cut hair AND let Phil help shampoo strangers, but that IS what happened and it was all sort of stupid as was the entire Manny/Luke storyline from the episode.

Flipping Out
If I were Jenni, I would have never allowed myself to be filmed anywhere near Mark Paul Gossalear's wife Cat. Both women were pregnant but Jenni must have gained 50 pounds and Cat gained 8. Hate women like that. Thank god Jenni had a girl and went with Aliana and not Tassos Nassos. That would have just been cruel but I think they were serious. They sure had way too many people in that delivery room if you ask me. In addition to the doctors and nurses, I counted 4 other people. Jenni's Mom, Sister, BFF and husband. Really? Whether Zoila's "B*tch" bling was real or not didn't matter it was hilarious because everything Zoila does or says is hilarious and again, not enough Zoila this week. Lisa G and her husband were back complaining about money. If they are going to torture Jeff, why did they hire him back? TV?

Nashville
Of course Maddie's video leaked out and now has 1,000,000 views. Now everyone knows that Deacon's her Dad. Good for Rayna, Deacon and Teddy for going on GMA and setting the record straight with the truth. Wish more celebrities and politicians would take that route. What I didn't realize was that it was Luke who leaked the video. I knew he was too good to be true. They always are. Is it me or is Hayden Panatierre's hair looking ultra artificial lately? If it only takes Gunnar a few minutes to write a song and he gets a royalty check for 400K wouldn't he just write more songs? That's all I do. Sit and write and ka-chiiiiing! I like Juliette and Avery a lot, but I sort of like that Charlie Wentworth guy. Scarlett's evil, horrible Mom's in town and that was enough to throw Scarlett over the edge. Too bad she lost it on Juliette's stage. More trouble for Rayna and that label of hers now.

THE OTHER STUFF

-All we need, another set top box. There are so many now that it would make my head explode if I actually wanted or needed one, but Amazon released their Amazon Fire version. With it you can watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Watch ESPN, Showtime Anytime, Crackle, Bloomberg TV, Pandora, Vevo and I Heart Radio. I'm sure more content distributors will join soon. Anyway, the tiny box is only $99 bucks. So if you don't have a smart TV or a Chromocast or any of the other options, this one might be for you.

-The Peabody Awards are the oldest honors in broadcasting. They recognize and celebrate excellence in storytelling. Winners were announced yesterday. The ones I care about are:
Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, Scandal, The Returned, House of Cards, Orphan Black, The Bridge, Broadchurch, A Chefs Life & Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. Obviously my recommendations can be trusted since the first 6 programs are currently on my binge list.  Ahhhh validation, it's a great feeling.

-Not sure what's going on with ABC's Astronaut Wives Club but it's been pulled from it's July launch and pushed back to midseason 14-15. Not good news for that cast.

Thursday's Trivia Question: I had to look it up…I confess. See if you can answer this one without looking it up though. Will Wheaton is getting his own Talk Soup for Geeks show over on Syfy. He plays himself on The Big Bang Theory, but what was his characters name on Star Trek the Next Generation?

It was food auction night on Survivor. Ya knew it was coming.  You can always count on food night and family members night.  Crabby Abi saved all her dough in the food auction to buy an advantage in the immunity challenge but ended up getting to eat some meat anyway thanks to Carter who used his money for 60 seconds of Veal Shank eating for the entire tribe. I couldn't believe that Abi won immunity, couldn't believe it.  I wanted her out SO badly.  Lisa "Blair Warner" really really struggled with which one of her alliances to screw over, but ended up staying true to Malcolm and Denise and screwing over Penner. A bit of a lighthearted moment when Penner said Denise's name out loud during the voting, but not so lighthearted at all when Skupin's swing vote sent him strolling out.  I was really truly rooting for Penner.  He played a great game and made a great exit.

Gotta admit, Gloria completely fooled me when she faked going into labor at Costco on Modern Family last night. I also have to admit that while I have never been caught shoplifting, I have been so cold in Costco that I have worn and almost left the store wearing a sweatshirt they were selling without paying for it. Luckily, I (unlike Claire) remembered to take it off at the register.  So, needless to say I found that entire storyline hilarious. Cam in the Cats costume up in the tree classic, but every scene with Lily was a major buzzkill. (Is buzzkill one word or two?).  Only Hailey could make the orange chain gang uniform sexy and only Alex trying to capture Hailey on that chain gang could fall in mud, lose her phone down a sewage grate and then have HER photo taken looking like she was on a chain gang.  It was funny.  Really funny.

On Suburgatoary, Tessa got the new Windows Surface Tablet and couldn't stop fondling it. I guess Microsoft couldn't get Phil Dunphy to bag his Ipad so they went with the next best thing, the show following Phil. The entire episode Tessa was freaking out because Lisa was keeping her from her tablet now that she had no boyfriend to occupy her time. They even made watermelon helmets as a fun post breakup project. On the flip side, George's NYC friends stopped by to make fun of how suburban he's become and how much he's been Dallasized and this is why this show is so good. I really thought it would be one of those shows where George would be embarrassed and try to hide Dallas etc. But George being George, he stuck up for all that he's become and tried to kick his friends butt during a bid for business.  This show is under the radar, but it's a good one.  Not what you'd expect, plus this week, it even had a creepy talking fish.  How could that be bad?

I Hated Diamond White's version of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody". On X Factor. I also hated how Khloe kept following Mario Lopez around the set.  She looked ridiculous, like a lost puppy or something. Vino's performance of "You've Lost that Lovin Feeling" was really really unexpected and while 3 out of 4 judges didn't like it, LA and I did.  Paige Thomas sang Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up".  Very interesting version, I liked it. I'm pretty impressed with Simon's ability to put groups together. First One Direction and now, Fifth Harmony.  One of the girls grandfather died during the week so they all looked a bit stressed out but did a great job nonetheless.  I agreed with the judges, that Carly's songs are a bit predictable, but she's SO good that you don't care...she's THAT good.  I'm SO sick of Adele and really sick of "Rolling in the Deep" but Carly made me not mind listening to it one more time. Tate the country guy was really great too.  He sang "I Wanna Love Somebody Like You".  Great performance, he has a shot, but Carly's tough to beat. Cece traded her leopard spots for sequins and a very Moulin Rougey performance of Lady Marmalade.  It was pretty decent but it won't beat Carly or Tate. Britney and Will I Am's video premiere also premiered Britney's new BRITish accent.  Very Madonnaish. Emblem 3's performance of "I'm a Believer" by The Monkees, made the girls scream and brought down the house. They also could win, I mean look who votes, little girls, and just to be sure they'd get all votes possible one of the guys ripped his shirt off at the end...hey that got my vote!
Last night I checked out the season finale of Flipping Out which I honestly thought was going to be the end of the show and the end of Jeff and Jenny's friendship.  Gotta give Bravo credit for setting us all up for a finale filled with drama but not the drama we all expected. I really thought Jeff and Jenny were done, but they made up and everything was fine...odd actually.  All the tears and drama in the clips and scenes were not around the death of J&J's friendship, but around the death of Monkey, Jeff's cat.  Sure it was sad, but totally not the drama I wanted at all.  Who wants to see someone put their beloved pet down? WTF Bravo??? In addition to that major manipulation, now, I really need to know what's going on with Jeff and Jenny and the lawsuit.  Not the best way to end a season people.

NEWS & INFORMATION:
*I know a few of you (including my Mom) are fans of The Mob Doctor on FOX.  While all 13 episodes are going to air, it doesn't look there will be any more after that.  Sorry guys, while it's not officially cancelled it's pretty much a goner.
*MTV cancelled The Inbetweeners.  You guys bummed? Didn't think so.
*The CW cancelled Meryl Streep's daughter's show, Emily Owens MD.  That's gotta suck for Mamie....Hmmm let me call my Mom who's been nominated for 17 Oscars and who's won 3 of them and tell her my show was cancelled...yeah that sounds like fun.
*ABC ordered 5 more episodes of Last Man Standing and Malibu Country.

Not the greatest episode of Hart of Dixie and just like we learned with last weeks Parks & Rec and lately, most episodes of How I Met Your Mother, not ALL episodes can be winners.  Other than seeing Mayor Lavon Hayes with HIS shirt off (way too many tattoos for me) and Wade's cute attempt to do something sweet for Zoey, not much happened that anyone who watches regularly, cared about.  I'm assuming most of us can't stand Ruby and Lavon, and can't wait for them to be over. I found it very hard to believe that the people of Bluebell would even know what a flash mob was let alone be able to participate in one, but they did.  Max, the kicker for Bluebell High School became obsessed with Dr. Hart and sent her the flash mob and a million roses which was a bummer for Rose who really liked Max and a bummer for me who has seen this sort of storyline a million times before.  The entire Lemon/Annabeth catering thing...could care less. Bring back shirtless Wade next week please!

I watched most of The Voice in Fast Forward mode, but I always stop to check out what the judges are wearing.  Adam looked so cute in his Mr. Rogers sweater. Droopy actually moved around on stage (a bit, nothing crazy) and while it looked like she took mascara to her bangs, her outfit was decent. I was again a bit nervous about a nip slip or something, but pretty sure everything stayed where it was supposed to during her performance.  I have to come clean, I didn't watch any of the performances all the way through. Totally bummed that two of my favorites, SPOILER ALERT: Bryan Keith and Sylvia Yacoub were sent packing.  Oh well, Nick and Cassadee are still around.

The show Happy Endings is an issue for me.  I get suckered in every time...this week was their "very special" Thanksgiving episode where Brad and Max were on The Real World Sacramento (it never aired-long story).  I thought to myself...okay I am going to give it ONE MORE TRY, I mean, I used to love The Real World.  13 minutes in, I couldn't take it anymore and changed channels.  I don't like anyone on the show, I don't think the show is funny and while there have been a gagillion "sort of Friends", "almost Friends", "we wanna be Friends" attempts, this show, is trying WAY too hard and will never be "Friends".  I know so many of you love Happy Endings and I just DO NOT get it.  I'm never ever ever watching it again...ever. Well...maybe if John Mayer makes a very special guest appearance...maybe then. (Let's see if anyone gets that one)

Since I now had a little spare time, I switched over to Flipping Out and I'm sort of bummed that I did.  After reading the other day about Jeff suing Jenny I figured something big had to happen and now I know what it was.  They had a huge fight that actually upset me.  Jenny was completely wrong and lied to Jeff and I really didn't believe her story which bummed me out.  Dr. Donna had to get involved.  Next week is the finale and it looks bad. I'll be so sad if Jeff and Jenny break up. Game over...honestly.  Jeff broke up with Ryan and so many others that I liked along the way.  He's been mean to Zoila this season and he's now living with THE most boring human ever...Gage.  So I'm guessing that I have one episode of Flipping Out left and I'm done for good.

Okay, I knew it had to happen...the very special ULTRA MORE STRESSFUL THAN USUAL episode of Parenthood.  This one, was just too hard, and yes it was all very real but this time, it was a bit too much. For a minute, I actually considered changing channels, but thankfully, just as I thought I couldn't take it one minute more, things lightened up.
These are the things that occurred in a one hour episode:
1) Joel & Julia haven't figured out how to divide and conquer so Sydney had a meltdown and threw a drink at her adopted brother at a restaurant in front of everyone.
2) Jasmine and Crosby got into a fight over their dinner party
3) Mark caught Drew sleeping with his girlfriend in the apartment, had the condom convo, promised not to tell Sarah, told Sarah, whole family fought.
4) Kristina who is really sick from the chemo and puking her guts up everywhere, offered to babysit a friend of Max's for the weekend. Max and the kid aren't getting along, the new dog is peeing everywhere and the baby can't stop crying. Adam had to pick up the slack...OY
5) Amber's boyfriend had to go to a funeral, she went with him, turns out the guy committed suicide, everyones on edge and Ryan ended up beating the crap out of a friend.
When Adam finally thought of going to Crosby to get some weed to make Kristina feel better, I thought...great Adam, you and Kristina can go smoke some dope and take the edge off, but your show has ME needing the same thing to do the same thing, no way I was getting some sleep now.  I love you Jason Katims, but I really don't need another episode this stressful for a while.

2nd to last week of our amazing Dancing with the Stars correspondent, Ed Ziskind's report...take it away Ed:
If you recall my predictions from yesterday, then there’s no need to read further – they were correct.  Clearly the fans – including this super-fan – are getting it right this season.

In tonight’s semi-finals results show, we went from five couples to three.  Shawn Johnson and Derek were announced first and no surprise, they were safe.  Up next, Melissa Rycroft and Tony stood next to Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina.  Apolo who Karina who got the boot, despite their perfect 30 and their suspect choice to perform tonight’s encore (it should have been Shawn and Derek).  Melissa and Tony, the only couple left never to have won the mirror ball trophy, have their chance to win it now.

Later, Emmit Smith and Cheryl stood next to Kelly Monaco and Val in the second half of the double elimination.  Last night, Emmit said his kids would join him at the finals from Dallas if he made it.  Well, the kids won’t have to make that flight as lovebirds Kelly and Val are heading to the finals in their place.

My prediction is that Shawn Johnson will win it all in the finals next week.  Usually, a team you don’t expect comes on strong in the finals.  The team that I don’t expect to win is Kelly and Val, but that’s just not going to happen.  Good enough to make it to the finals but not good enough to win.  Shawn Johnson (the Olympian) and Melissa Rycroft (the Bachelorette!) are evenly matched, so let’s look at their coaches.  Tony has had his best season by far but Derek is always pulling things out of his hat in the finals.  Derek will help Shawn win her second mirror ball trophy next week.

See you for the finals next week!

Thanks Ed!

*Starz cancelled Kelsey Grammar's show Boss.  I watched the first season and found the show confusing but there were two story lines I liked.  The daughter who was a drug addict and Claire from 90210 and the cute young guy, but even with those two, I bagged it.  Too confusing.

*For all of you guys who either are iCarly fans or are the parents of iCarly fans, just a reminder that the series finale is this Friday, 11/23.

*It's official, News Corp. purchased 49% of the YES Network, home of the New York Yankees and the NY Nets for approximately 1.5 billion dollars.

*If you are sick of Adam Sandler's annoying Thanksgiving Song, here is my new favorite.  Don't get me wrong, it's awful, but that's why you'll like it.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Quite the insane reward challenge on Survivor.  The teams were playing for food and a dry shelter.  They had to battle in mud and push an enormous wicker ball into a goal but all in a huge mud pit. Everyone pretty much came to a standstill.  In an unprecedented move, Kalabaw gave up all of the rice they had back at their camp to Tandang in return for a great lunch, a shower and a temporary dry shelter.  That has NEVER happened in the history of the game. While everyone was drying off and chowing down, they also received letters from home which made the realization that they currently have no rice back at camp a bit easier to deal with.  Kalabaw's strategy didn't really work out very well since Jonathan couldn't catch any of the fish he promised and everyone was starving.  The immunity challenge, was a pretty close game of slingshot catch.  While secret MLB player, Jeff Kent did a great job catching for Kalabaw, Malcolm, who was filled with rice, won the challenge for Tandang sending the starving Kalabaws to Tribal.  This week it was between Katie and Penner, but in an anticlimactic vote...Katie went home.  I'm actually surprised since everyone was really pissed off about Jonathan's rice debacle.

Dear Steve Levitan, how could you ruin the Modern Family Halloween episode with WAY TOO MUCH LILY?  What is wrong with all of you over there on that show?  Lily sucks. Sorry for my blatant honesty, but she ruins the show.  With so many amazing actors at your disposal, why in the world do you need to focus on Lily???  The only thing that WAS funny was when Lily gave up her princess costume and became Tattoo from Fantasy Island.  "The plane, The plane" would  have been way funnier if they were the ONLY lines spoken by TV's most annoying child EVER.  Other than that the show was great.  Sincerely yours, Kristy Carruba.

Finally saw Jenny's wedding on Flipping Out.  Tommy Shaw from Styx sang, Mark Bouwer designed her dress and Chaz from the Wenn infomercials did her hair.  It seemed like she had 600 people at her wedding but no idea just how many people were really in attendance.  I'm sure Andy Cohen and the Bravo peeps picked up some of the bill which would make the happy couple even happier.  Jenny looked really good and Jeff only mildly embarrassed himself and her.  Loved Zoila in the wedding party and still can't stand Gage.  Next week they all go back to therapy, this time Gage too!  I think he could use some.

I fell asleep before I got to see Suburgatory and Nashville, so I'll have to catch up tonight or tomorrow.  I did get up early this morning and caught Axl Rose on Jimmy Kimmel which was really weird.  Axl looks really different and seemed WAY too normal.  Jimmy commented that he was surprised at how punctual Axl was and that they really weren't sure he'd show up.  Axl didn't sing on the show, but he was chatty and seemed sort of calm.

I love anything that has to do with the White House and how it operates.  I love the shows that describe behind the scenes in the White House kitchen, how they prep for the holidays and all that kind of stuff.  So, I'm really psyched to check out Flipping the White House on Discovery this Sunday at 10pm.  I set the DVR for it, since I'll be watching Homeland at that exact time, but I will not miss this one.

My FBFF Jimmy Fallon posted part 3 of his his debate coverage...again, I don't really do politics (still no judging please), but these are funny...check it out:

I heard this morning that the NBC owned and operated stations are going to launch something called Cozi TV.  If I understand it correctly, the stations can take programmed blocks of time from Cozi TV, and preempt their regularly scheduled programming and replace it with the Cozi content.  I think I have that right.  The content being offered comes from NBC's movie and TV library and includes some of my OLD faves like The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman and Charlies Angels.  Not sure when this all starts up, but I'd be happy to see Steve Austin and Jaime Somers again!  Bring um on!

Also read that Android is supposedly going to overtake Windows and become the dominant operating system/software by the end of 2016.  By the end of 2016, 2.3 billion computers, smartphones, and tablets will be powered by Android, versus 2.27 billion devices running on Windows. Predictions for 2012 include 1.5 billion devices running on Windows and 608 Android-powered devices by the end of this year. A lot of this shift over the next four years can then be attributed to the decline of the PC and the rise of smartphones and tablets as the premier computing devices.  I can't imagine it will all change that fast, but then again, look at how much has changed in the past 5 years alone.

I work here at Verizon and had no idea we have something called  "The Verizon FiOS Innovation Index."  This apparently  is a survey of US consumers that examined trends in connectivity, device adoption, and user experiences, and how advances in technology are leading consumers to live more connected and "borderless" lives. Here is what I've learned:
  • Borderless consumers are those who own a laptop or desktop, a smartphone or tablet, usually have a device with Internet access on hand, are motivated to make technology and connectivity upgrades, and are interested in the benefits of a connected home.
  • Borderless consumers currently constitute 39% of US adults, and that number is growing.
  • 53% of these consumers are female
  • 48% make over $75,000
  • 51% are college graduates
  • 46% are millennials
  • 47% belong to Gen-X
  • 40% are baby boomers
  • 82% want to access their files and content on any device, at any time, from any place (versus 64% of non-borderless consumers)
  • 61% want to control their TV/DVR using a tablet or smartphone (versus 23%).
  • 89% still love watching live shows on TV (versus 90%).
