Another awesome Vampire Diaries episode with so much packed in that its hard to recap it all. I was really happy to see the writers start off with Damon and Elena naked and in bed...they should have stayed there but there was a lot to get done in 45 minutes.  Elena had to leave their bed to go to school which really is pointless now, but it's a good diversion.  Of course as she's leaving, Stefan is coming to tell Damon about the sire bond. Damon doesn't believe it but goes to school and tells Elena to drink blood from the bag and she does and doesn't vomit...sire bond. Damn, Stefan was right.  So now, Stefan and Damon have to go to New Orleans to find a witch who knows how to break the spell.  Apparently this had happened to Damon once before with some lunatic named Charlotte who he left counting every brick in the Big Easy 70 years ago.  Between Nandi the Witch and Tyler the Hybrid, we learned that the sire bond affects how you act not how you feel but they only way for Damon to break it is for him to leave Elena...but can he do this? We're not sure...episode ended before we could find out if they were going to get busy or get going.  While Damon and Stefan were away gathering intel, Bonnie, Caroline and Elena had a girls night in where they drank Dom and stoner tea causing them to dance and laugh.  Of course Caroline had to let it slip that Elena was sired to Damon after everyone agreed not to tell her.  Apparently in Mystic Falls, a town full of secrets...NOBODY CAN KEEP A SECRET.  Still not sure what Professor wants with 12 unsired hybrids, but they are ready to go and currently Tyler is the leader of the pack.  (You just heard the song in your head didn't you?  I did too when I typed this).

X Factor started with a 6 minute recap of last nights show, then a Melanie Amaro recap and then Melanie performed her new song "Long Distance" which was pretty good, but Melanie looked afraid to move on stage. Something was weird I just can't put my finger on it.  I hated Khloe's outfit and while I love Mario and his sparkly eyes and super white teeth, I hated his 3 pocket jacket.  Finally we find out that Cece and her leopard spots are finally going home.  Bummer for Demi as she had obviously spent some time getting spotty for the show too.  As I expected, the other person going home was Diamond White, so now we are down to the final four.  In this order: Fifth Harmony, Emblem 3, Carly Rose and Tate Stevens.  I'm betting Carly wins, but I had a bit of an epiphany about Tate Stevens name...anyone think of a 70's show when they see that name?  Let's see who's paying attention today.

While I barely knew any of the songs performed on Glee this week, it happened to be a really good episode with a lot less insanity than usual.  Since New Directions left the stage to help Marly during finals, they lost sectionals. Glee club season...over.  Sue took the practice room and everyone bailed and found other things to do.  I had no idea that Sam, aka trout lips, had a thing for Britney and chapsticks, but we found out he did as he apparently has an amazing ability to make dominoes out of circular cereal that lead girls right to him without any kids in school stepping on them.  What he also seemed to know was that Brittney would find these Cheerios, eat them off the dirty floor, find him, sing a song I didn't know, and then kiss his big Chapstick lips with her dirty mouth. Okay...Kate Hudson and Rachel had an All That Jazz dance battle (Rachel won in my opinion) and then Rachel was invited by Whoopi Goldberg to perform at the NYADA Winter Showcase and honestly, I am not a huge Barbra Streisand fan or anything and I'm not even positive that's whose song Rachel sang as I had never heard it before, but whatever song that was...WOW.  Standing ovation and superpower over Whoopi as she asked Kurt to sing at the Showcase too which was a shocker since he doesn't go to NYADA and she had rejected him again about 5 minutes before she invited him to perform.  Of course he sang a song I didn't know, it was great and now he goes to NYADA too!  Back at home, the Glee club gathered together to sing in a snowstorm. Dreams do come true in NYC and in Lima.  The end.

My friend Ed watched his first episode of Parks & Rec a few weeks ago mainly at my suggestion, unfortunately the one he watched wasn't a good one, hey they can't all be right? I hope Ed watched last nights because it was just perfect.  First  there was Ron's nomination for the "Best Chair" award from the Woodworkers Association which was truly hilarious, especially with all of the woodworker jokes at the ceremony and the return of Tammy, Ron's ex,ex-wife (they were married twice) who kept flashing her vajayjay during Ron's acceptance speech.  (Oh...Ron won BTW).  Then you had Jerry's holiday party where we found out some BIG news...Jerry is married to Christie Brinkley and has 3 hot daughters.  So didn't see that coming...good one Amy Poehler.  Andy, April, Donna and Tom had apparently been throwing dollars in a box every time Jerry did anything stupid and were heading out to their Jerry Dinner with 517 bucks when they saw all the cars in front of his house for the party.  Of course they were invited but because they set up an email filter where all of Jerry's really nice emails go, they never got the invite.  There was a ton in this episode, Rob Lowe, Lucy Lawless, and more...Ed, if you didn't watch this one, I hope it's in your DVR, its definitely a classic.

I'm not sure how many episodes of 30 Rock are left, but I know the end is near and last nights episode was really good.  Of course Jack's Mom, played by the amazing Elaine Stritch was back in town for the holidays, and unfortunately after a fun carriage ride where she told Jack that all she wants is for him to be happy...she died.  She'd been threatening her own death since Jack was born so I guess it was bound to happen, god was Elaine Stritch funny.  Liz came back from her bizarro wedding to Chriss Cross and found out she had won the 80 under 80 award for women in broadcasting which made Jenna insane with jealousy.  Liz went to the ceremony and told her troubles to Gayle King, Oprah's BFF, who completely understood Liz's plight as her best friend always steals the spotlight too.  There were a few other very cute cameos at Liz's luncheon, Sue Simmons, Wendy Williams and Judy Gold.  Jack's eulogy included Kermit the Frog.  Muppets seem to show up in weird places on NBC lately...remember CeeLo on the Voice just the other night? Mrs. Brady, I mean Florence Henderson (sorry Flo) made an appearance as Kenneth told Tracy that he wanted to live like they do on TV, but everything in that experiment didn't work out the way Kenneth had hoped...nothing ever does Kenneth...nothing ever does. I'm so going to miss 30 Rock when it's gone.
