We didn't have any drama today in the Carruba house, and traffic was light, so when I got home I decided to check out the Sunday premiere of The Bible on History Channel.  As you can see from the ratings above, the show delivered 13.1 million viewers.  Significantly more than cable powerhouse, The Walking Dead. I have to caveat this by saying, I know nothing about The Bible, I've never read it and really had no interest in it at all.  I feel really weird about reviewing the show. Religion is a very controversial subject and I don't really want to get myself into any hot water with all of you awesome readers,  so here's what I will say.  The show is not for me. It's well produced and the acting is strong, but it's just not my thing.  I'd rather not go into why, I feel this way.  For the first time since I've been posting this blog, I feel uncomfortable, but rather than avoid it, I figured, I'd let you know and just move on.  I am curious what you guys have to say though.  If you watched and you liked it...I get it.  If you watched and you didn't like it...I get that too.  If you didn't watch at all, I'd say you should check it out and let me know your thoughts.  If there's enough feedback, perhaps I'll come back to this topic, but for now...I'm movin on.

I used to comment on Ali Wentworth's Yahoo mini-show, The Daily Shot. I liked the show and thought Ali and I should be friends. (Not like me and Jimmy at all...totally different)  Then the show disappeared for a while and I had some inside scoop that it was being revamped and that Ali was getting some "work done".  Well, yesterday, The Daily Shot returned to Yahoo and I'm pretty sure I was right on both counts.  Ali looks better than ever and the show is completely different. She's calling the new show "the earliest late night talk show you can get"  I like the concept.  Ali's sidekick is gone and she's alone with one guest for the entire 5 minutes of her broadcast.  So far the shows off to a good start. I'm interested to see where it goes and how it evolves.  I love Ali and I'm glad she's back on my laptop and cell phone again!

On Hart of Dixie, Zoe and the entire town of Bluebell are dealing with Wade's cheating in various ways.  Zoe started out depressed and then moved on to angry.  The town is treating Wade like a leper and baking Zoe a million pies. LeVon and George are both really pissed at Wade and so am I, but I also feel bad for Wade too.  Of course the town can't focus on Wade and Zoey forever. This is Bluebell and they have a church casino night fundraiser to put together in less than a week.  No trouble at all though.  This tiny Alabama town in the middle of nowhere has everything. Gaming tables, neon signs, costumes...the works.  I guess when you throw some sort of themed event every few days you keep your closets and garages stocked forever. Dr Noah Breeland is still in town helping out with the sick folks in town and trying desperately to sleep with Zoe.  I think she should just do it, but so far, she's not taking the bait.  Brick wants Shelby to move in with him but needs the girls to be okay with it. Of course they aren't and I hate this storyline. Now we have to wait until 4/9 when Hart of Dixie returns to find out about Zoe and Wade.  Damn you CW!

The Bible took a lot out of me, so I never got to Cougar Town or Smash...I'll get to both tonight, I'm sure.

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-Justin Timberlake is hosting SNL this week and then heads over to my FBFF's for an entire week.  I love Justin and will actually try to stay awake and watch the show live.  Here's the promo they're running for the show...it's so Justin and SO good.  http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/snl-promo-justin-timberlake/n33549/

-Jon Stewart is going to be taking a 12 week break from The Daily Show this Summer.  Well, it's not a real break where he's sitting on his butt eating chips and dip and playing games on his Ipad.  He's actually going to be directing a film that he wrote called Rosewater.  While he's gone, John Oliver is going to take the news desk.  John's a regular on the show, but it could be interesting to see how he "covers" for Jon in his absence and what that does to the numbers.  You know I'll be watching the numbers (I don't do news)

-Man what I wouldn't give to sit at the breakfast table with Julie Chen and Les Moonves every morning.  I'm betting that Julie knows so much inside info and I'm hear Julie if you feel the need to share.  I wonder when she found out that Dexter's 8th season would be its last? Dexter's one of those shows on my binge watch list...I've never watched it but I've always wanted to, so I guess now that there's officially a final season coming, I can get started.

-Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grade...baker? I know, I'm getting my shows confused...It's the Jeff Foxworthy factor.  He's going from rednecks to 5th graders to bakers.  Jeff's going to host the new CBS Summer American Baking Competition show starting at the end of May.  Supposedly this show was a huge hit in England which means it has to be a hit here too.  I don't know about this one though. I actually love to bake, and used to love Cupcake Wars, but not sure how this show will do and now with the announcement that Foxworthy's the host, I'm really not sure...I'm not even making an prediction.
-I don't really do sports in this blog, and everyone really knew about the new Fox Sports 1 network that will launch in August, but I'm really happy that Regis Philbin's getting a gig out of it.  I'm guessing he'll talk about his beloved Notre Dame, but he's a big time sports fan and TV misses having him around.  I'm glad he's gonna be back!  Yeah Reeeege!

The MTV Movie Award Nominations came out last night.  I'm not sure I'll do as well predicting the winners of these, but I'm sure going to give it a shot, I mean you know how much I love an awards show!  Here's the list, my picks are in red:
