Good News/Bad News for President Obama. The Good News: The State of the Union Address WAS seen by 33.3 million people. The Bad News: That's the lowest viewership in 14 years. Could have been everyone was busy trying to sign up for Obamacare? Buh dum bum. (joke telling's not my strength)

THE SHOWS
American Idol
There wasn't much on at 8pm last night so I figured I'd check out American Idol for 30 minutes and then flip over to Suburgatory. I don't remember the last time I watched Idol, but I know it's been a LONG time. I've been hearing that Harry Connick Jr.'s the best thing ever, so I figured...why not. I admit it, I did like the judges. I mean sure Keith Urban's hair bugged me as did J-Lo's headband, but the judges aren't crazy nice, they seem to be just honest whether they're delivering good or bad news to the contestants. The thing is, I'm just done in general with these shows. It's all the same old, same old. We get it, there are a lot of talented people out there, but it's tough to be a star and keep the momentum going. In looking at the list of Idol winners,Voice winners and X Factor winners, there are only a handful that are still around. I mean how many can you actually name?  I'm still not willing to make the commitment to any of these shows anymore, but it wasn't painful tuning in for a while.
Suburgatory
This post break-up George/Jeremy Sisto wasn't something I was enjoying. The hair, the sweatpants and worst of all: socks with sandals. (Men...this is never acceptable) were killing me. George seemed to be falling apart and even started using a stadium buddy. Tessa was doing too well after her break-up with Ryan and was concerned about George so she told his Daddy on him and he came running. I'm having trouble placing the actor who played George's dad, but I know I know him. Anyway, George's Dad got George off the couch and ready to tap the dog walker, so at least sad George is gone for now. Unfortunately now it's Tessa's turn to eat a tub of Forefatter Glace (that was the name of the ice cream she was chowing do on) now that Ryan came home for a visit and brought along a very Tessa-like girlfriend. Luckily, Georges lie that the stadium buddy leaked all over the couch, got Tessa off IT and into the shower and hopefully by next episode into someone else. With Enlisted tanking over on FOX, she could be back into Ryan at some point soon.
THE OTHER STUFF

Last night on my FBFF's show, a hilarious Full House reunion. Check out Jimmy's PJ's, Dave Coulier's impressions, Michelle's bedroom bear, how much John Stamos looks EXACTLY the same as he did in 1989.  Plus...one more great surprise. http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/blogs/2014/01/full-house-guys-reunite-on-jimmy-fallon/

The late night wars are totally heating up and I gotta admit the viewers are the lucky ones. So many great options. I'm currently TiVOing Kimmel, Fallon and Andy Cohen but there's so much going on between 10p and 1a that I might need to give up sleeping. On Feb 6th, Matt Damon is returning to Jimmy Kimmel for the first time since he BRILLIANTLY hijacked the show in January 2013. The entire cast of Monuments Men will be joining him including everyone's fave, George Clooney. Set your DVR people it's gonna be good, I know it.  Also, if you haven't see the Damon hijacking episode, you really should.

I can't take all the credit but I feel like I need to take some. Jerry Seinfeld's web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee just hit the 25 MILLION streams milestone. 25 million streams! Amazing right? The shows already been renewed for at least 2 more seasons and Jerry says he'll keep doing it until he doesn't want to do it anymore. Must be nice. I for one am thrilled as you know. This weeks edition with Tina Fey hasn't been posted yet, so I'll throw the link up tomorrow.

I know quite a few David Boreanaz lovers who will be happy as clams that Bones has been renewed for a 10th season. I had no idea Bones has been on that long.  I guess Boreanz is doing pretty well then huh?

Superbowl commercials are here! Here's my fave so far. Anything with a puppy pretty much wins in my opinion. What'd you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQB7QRyF4p4

Isn't it funny that no matter how serious Mark Wahlberg wants us to take him we still refer to him as Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch? I find it funny. Anyway, Marky Mark will be hosting the Kids Choice Awards on March 29th in LA withOUT the Funky Bunch.

I was reading an article about how binge viewing is bad for our health. Duh, we all know that sitting on our couches or in our beds and watching an entire season or the entire series of Breaking Bad or Friday Night Lights can't possibly be good for our bodies, thanks for the big news guys. I did love this video though. Probably one of the only things I've ever understood on  Portlandia. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njr3aFpTMyQ

Due to IOC regulations, this Olympic spot could be pulled down by the time you click on it. As of 6:37am it was working. It's worth seeing. Pretty powerful and I'm guessing the story will play out throughout the games.

Thursday's Trivia Question: Prior to this Superbowl, what city held the COLDEST outdoor Superbowl? Bonus if you know (without Googling) the temperature.

After having all of you guys vote and learning that most of you won't be watching American Idol this season, I'm relieved that there's really no pressure on me to watch it either. Of course, I had to check the premiere episode out last night just to see the Mariah/Minaj thing for myself.  I'm not sure what's going on between the two of them.  They started out bickery then got down to business. I'm really not a Nicki Minaj fan at all and there's no way I could listen to that voice for an entire season, (which is probably what Keith Urban is thinking right about now too), but I will say that the judges, in general were pretty decent with the advice they gave to Idol hopefuls.  Mariah and Keith were actually good, I liked them both, but all that aside, I really won't be tuning in unless there's nothing else on. I just can't do it.

Speaking of annoying voices, I think the writers and producers of Modern Family finally figured out how to use Lily and not iritate viewers...Abuse her...not that way, but the way that makes me and probably most viewers laugh. Accidently poke her in the eye, give her whiplash from a toy car accident, accidently throw her in the pool...now that is what you do with annoying kids that you can't kill off the show! Jay and Gloria had a fun time together stealing cakes and plowing through parking gates in preparation for Manny's surprise birthday party, but we loved the real surprises of catching Manny kissing a girl and Gloria going into labor at the party.  Also have to give the writers/producers credit for not holding the birth for sweeps or a season finale or anything.  Sort of refreshing if you ask me. Oh...one final note on last nights episode...Did you notice that Kevin Arnold from the Wonder Years, Fred Savage, directed last nights episode? Nice to know he's working.

Gotta be honest...it was my intention to watch Suburgatory and Nashville but I must have fallen asleep right after Tessa got her wisdom teeth pulled, so I've got nothing on either one of these shows to write about.  My apologies...it happens.

NEWS & INFORMATION

-Conrad Bains, aka Mr. Drummond passed away yesterday at the age of 89.  He is survived by only 1 of his 3 TV kids, Willis/Todd Bridges.  I'm thinking that Arnold, Kimberly and Mr. D. are all together again in a penthouse apartment in the sky somewhere.  RIP Mr. D.

-Syfy cancelled the show Alphas after 2 seasons for anyone that needs to know.

-Good news for all of us Downton Abbey fans, Maggie Smith will be sticking around through season 4 which is great, because she has all the best lines in the entire show.  She rocks.

-Just a reminder that tonight on OWN is part 1 of the Oprah/Lance Armstrong interview. I wonder if Lance is relieved or bummed that this crazy Manti T'eo thing is taking over the public airwaves. Maybe Lance was the imaginary girlfriend?  JUST KIDDING!

Thursday's Trivia Question:  Mr. D as he was lovingly known Diff'rent Strokes also played Dr. Arthur Harmon on what show?

-I have no idea how to describe Kelly's dress from Tuesday's show and of course, LA Reid, her co-host looked great but honestly who cares...JIMMY FALLON was on as a guest!!! I can't believe I didn't know about this.  Sure it was a great surprise, but I have some connections...I could have figured out a way to get to LIVE WITH KELLY, pick up Jimmy and drive him directly to my house for our sleepover!  It would have been a perfect night for it...IDOL, AGT and GLEE...sure I would have had to stop off at Shop Rite for some snacks, but I could've pulled it off, I know I could have. Jimmy was on the show to promote his new CD called "Blow Your Pants Off" (see above...that's the real cover!) as well as the second book of Thank You notes. He's a busy guy...another reason to stop, smell the roses and SLEEP OVER!!!

-First time in a while that I've tuned in to IDOL, but there wasn't much on at 8pm last night, and we finished packing the camp trunks, so I had some time on my hands to check out the 2 finalists, Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips. No question that both of them are pretty talented, but  Phil Phil got my vote. Jessica's definitely got some skills and it was pretty cool to hear her big voice come out of her super small body but she's not that original really. J-Lo bugs the you know what out of me, but I love Joan, I mean Steven and Randy is...Randy dawg.

-Ben Stern, Howard's Dad took the AGT stage last night and spouted his signature "Don't be stupid ya moron" catch phrase to a talentless contestant. They should have kept him up there for the whole show...quite a few talentless people that could have also used Ben's great advice. I've been listening to Ben say these words for 24 years and it never gets old.

-GLEE was a goodbye fest...pretty emotional actually.  SPOILER ALERT:

Here is what we think we know about McKinley's graduating class:

Rachel's going to NYADA without Finn (he went the- if you love someone set them free route)

Finn's going to the Army (he broke up with Rachel)

Mike Chang is going to the Joffrey Ballet

Santana's going to NY to follow her dreams but she could possibly stay around since
Britney will be repeating 12th grade (are you surprised?  It's a wonder any of these people graduated...they never went to any class other than Glee club)
Puck...not sure
Quinn is Yale bound
Mercedes got a record deal (on an indie label) in L.A.
Kurt didn't get into NYADA so...status unknown
BEST TV DAD award goes to Burt Hummel for performing Beyonce's "All The Single Ladies" as a graduation gift for his son.

WORST TV DAD award goes to both of Rachel's Dads for NOT attending her High School Graduation.
Gloria Estevez showed up for dinner at breadsticks with Santana but I didn't see her at Graduation either, but since I'm not positive she wasn't there, no WORST MOM award designation will be given out.

-SPOILER ALERT: Congrat's to Donald Driver for taking the silver ball and winning this season's DANCING WITH THE STARS.  I didn't watch, but according to Scott & Todd on WPLJ and many of my Facebook friends, this was a big upset.

-I love Hulu, and haven't missed Netflix at all since dumping their butts last December.  I strongly recommend using it over the Summer to check out some of their new original series.  I for one am going to check out the Kevin Smith movie review show.  Check out this link for more info on what's coming to Hulu this Summer! If you see anything good, let me know!
http://www.hulu.com/hulu-summer-series

-Yesterday, John Mayer's long awaited (by me anyway) album was finally released and I listened to it all day.  I love it, but it reminded me that John did a TV show way back in 2004 that my husband and I loved...it was HILARIOUS...I found it! The Internet rules!  It's in 2 parts in the links below and I really really think you should check it out...this show and the "Room for Squares" album are what made me fall for him years ago (don't judge me)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXUi93hbPq8

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOJ1DV6Unro&feature=relmfu

-Some good news (at least to me anyway) for SMASH fans...Frank, Michael Swift, Ellis and Dev...gone.  It's the right move...things will be better without them...trust me.

-Two DVR setting reminders...DANCE MOMS returns on 6/5 and 5 days later TRUE BLOOD season 5 premieres on 6/10.  I think you should watch them both on the same night...polar opposite theme night!

-It's always a good news/bad news thing when I hear that Jason Gedrick is joining the cast of a TV show.  I love a good Jason, but he never lasts long or the show never lasts long.  Gedrick is joining Dexter for the seventh season which premiere's 9/30.  If the Gedrick curse isn't broken, Dexter will definitely not be renewed for an 8th season.

-Congrats to Hello Kitty lookalike, Giuliana Rancic, E! has renewed her contract through April 2015.  She is really a busy woman these days between all of her E! News duties and shows, her reality show on the Style network, her new primetime show,  her restaurant, and of course her impending motherhood.  Good Luck with all that GR sounds a bit much to me, but I'm sure with all of the dough your are bringing in, you can afford a lot of help!
Wednesday's Trivia Question: Why did Jerry and Newman hate each other so much on SEINFELD?  (I didn't know this one, but Jerry was on Andy Cohen's show and revealed this tidbit...let's see if you guys know)
