THE SHOWS
All Star Game
I usually enjoy the Home Run Derby more than the actual All Star Game, but as a Yankee fan, it really was all about #2 for me. You can say whatever you want about Jeter, but I really do think he's been a class act, a great Captain, great player and role model. I appreciated and felt that he deserved all of the attention and accolades that he received during last night's game. I'm sure you've seen it already, but if you haven't, grab a Kleenex and check out Nike's R2SPECT spot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBoeNFz0NOM Whether you're a baseball fan or not…Well done, Nike. Oh and congratulations American League and Mike Trout. I love baseball.

Deadliest Catch
I can't imagine listening to a Superbowl on the radio, especially not one where my home team is playing, but most of our fisherman were right smack in the middle of Opilio season when their beloved Seattle Seahawks were pummeling the Denver Broncos in this years big game. All of the crews made the best of it with some high seas fun during the game. Unfortunately for most of them, not much drinking or eating, but they didn't seemed that upset. I guess they're usually out at sea during the big game and celebrating with their own traditions. Good news for most of our Captains and their crews…lots of crab! Josh Harris made his dad Phil and all of us so proud. He delivered his first load of Opilio's on time and when the crew was running behind schedule, Josh got back on deck and helped them out rather than sit in the wheelhouse and risk missing his delivery date. Nice to see him getting his act together. I don't know about you, but I am repulsed by Elliot Neese. I can't stand him. Now he has his disgusting girlfriend on the boat who knowingly used milk in the chicken pot pie when one of the crew was allergic to it and then "forgot" to tell him. Can you imagine being lactose intolerant out at sea with huge waves,  horrible smells and an idiot in the wheelhouse? OMG I wanted to kill her. The guy was a lot nicer about it than I would have been. The Time Bandit's propeller died just as they were on the crab. Gotta admit, every time Captain Andy talked about his broken shaft,  I chuckled a bit. I know…sick mind. At least I'm honest. I felt bad for his nephew Scott. All Scott wanted to do was make as much money as possible when the Time Bandit's season was over, but Andy was furious. Would have been great to see what Jonathan would have done if he was on the boat. Seemed like he and his son were on the same page. The Cape Caution always has crew issues. First with greenhorns and last night with Nick, the deck boss, who apparently has a drinking problem. I get the feeling this is a huge problem among these fisherman. Not much Mandy this week, but she's still on the Northwestern which made me happy.

Tyrant
I do love this show, but now that it's in my head, it does bother me that Bassam/Barry is looking less and less middle eastern. He seemed to lose his middle eastern look sometime during high school at the Ridgefair Academy. I'd love to know why the producers went in that direction. Molly, BB's wife is still super annoying and now Emma, BB's daughter is starting to bug me. I just know something's going to happen to one or maybe both of them. Jamal's still unable to "perform" if ya know what I mean and it's REALLY pissing him off. Poor rapist. I don't know if I missed it in the previous episodes, but I'm pretty sure the name of the country is Abudin, but that could be the city. I'm not positive. Doesn't the palace look fake in all the long shots?  Sammy hasn't been able to hook up with Abdul again. Abdul doesn't want to jeopardize his status with the family so he cut Sammy loose. I felt bad for both of them, but they're young boys, so I'm betting temptation will get the best of them soon. Jamal's son, Aman still hasn't slept with his wife since his wedding (and still doesn't know that his Dad did). He's getting meaner and meaner. Like father, like son right? BB's going to go and meet with Ihab Rashad in hopes of coming to some sort of an agreement  or compromise for peace, but I'm betting this "meeting" doesn't go well. We'll have to wait until next week to find out.

THE OTHER STUFF

-On July 30th, Hot in Cleveland will be airing, what sounds like, a pretty cool episode. Normally I hate anything animated (I don't know why, I used to love cartoons as a kid) but I am setting the DVR for this one. Steven Tyler's guest starring as the girls guide through an animated "magical pop culture adventure" that includes what life in Cleveland would have been like if LeBron James had never left. It has me interested. I'm in.

-Now THIS I'm psyched about…Lisa Rinna is joining the cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Lisa and her husband Harry Hamlin had their own show a while back and it was really cute. Anyone remember its name? Bonus points if you do. I think adding her to the cast is a great idea, especially if they get rid of that lunatic Carlton and that drip Joyce.

-3 more cast members of SNL weren't asked back…Noel Wells, John Milhiser and Nasim Pedrad. Good thing all of the stories about their firings included photos or I wouldn't have known who any of them were which is whyyyyyy they got fired right?

Wednesday's Trivia Question: Curb Your Enthusiasm + Rules of Engagement =?

Quick housekeeping note. As you know, yesterday I had some technical problems, my computer and email were both down all day.  I was able to post the blog to the Watching Way Too Much Facebook page, so if you haven't liked the page yet, I'd suggest giving it a quick thumbs up. https://www.facebook.com/WatchingWayTooMuch?ref=hl You also get a jump on trivia, as the blog goes up on Facebook 30 minutes (usually) before it goes out in the email blast) That way you'll never miss a post or a trivia question and you'll know that I'm okay if I happen to have issues in the future. Thanks to all of you guys who checked on me to see if I was okay.

THE SHOWS
Deadliest Catch
Lots of issues with the entire fleet this season. Sig and the Northwestern have had a steering problem, a hydraulic leak and now they lost 1000 gallons of fresh water. Sure their still "on the crab" but they all stink way more than normal. No shower, no teeth brushing, and no dish or clothes washing. Edgar brushed his teeth with coffee and Matt stunk so bad that he jumped into the crab tank in his underwear. I think I'd have vomited. Mandy, Sig's daughter, is on her way to join the crew, hope she knows what she's doing. We don't want the first girl on the show to get one whiff of these guys and quit.  Over on the Cornelia Marie, Josh Harris can't seem to catch a break. First string, no crab, second string, dirty crab and one deck hand got hit with a 1000 pound pot. Things NEED to turnaround for him quickly or he'll have to sell the boat and that CAN'T happen. I love seeing Josh in the wheelhouse, but hate seeing him chain smoke just like his Dad. The Cape Caution's greenhorn also got hit with a pot and ended up with what I'm diagnosing as a concussion and a broken nose. So their struggling just like the rest of the fleet. The Time Bandit, sans Jonathan Hilstrand who's got health issues,  was also having trouble. They had a leak too. Could have sent the entire boat up in flames but luckily it was quickly fixed. We forget that the crew are not only expert smelly, crazy, fishermen, but they're engineers too. Can't wait to see Mandy in action next week. I really hope she kicks some butt. Her Mom didn't look to thrilled to see her leaving her high heels and makeup behind for some flannels and hip boots.

Tyrant
Hoping you guys checked this new show out last night. I watched the pilot for the 2nd time. Even made my husband watch with me. He liked it, didn't love it. So…basically the gist is this. Barry is a pediatrician who lives in LA with his wife, daughter and gay son. Not sure Barry knows Sammy is gay though. Anyway, turns out, Barry is a Prince of some unnamed Middle Eastern country even though he doesn't look middle eastern. (His Mom's white which is a bit of a stretch, but I went with it)  He hasn't been back home in 20 years, but his nephew is getting married, so he's taking the family and going to the wedding even though he knows it's a bad idea. Daddy's a bad guy even thought he bought up all the seats on the plane, and bro Jamal is an even badder guy, but he seems to be next in line to rule the country. At the wedding, the King collapses and dies. Barry and the family try to get out of the country pronto. Jamal freaked out and took his Lamborghini, a bottle of scotch, and one of his rape victims for ride. She tried to kill him and bit his you know what and they drove off a cliff. He's still alive and she isn't. I guess that's a good thing cause they'd have killed her for biting the new Kings wiener anyway. Through flashbacks we learned that Jamal was actually the weaker of the two brothers and Barry's killed a man in cold blood when he was a kid, mainly to get his sick father's attention. So there are a lot of layers to this story. There was a lot more to it and now that Daddy's dead and rape boy's incapacitated Barry's being forced to stick around.  I enjoyed this one. Anyone out there watch it?

THE OTHER STUFF

-CBS revealed all of the Fall premiere dates, I loaded them onto my list for you guys.

-I could have sworn that we already knew that all of the American Idol judges, JLo, HarCo and Keith would be back with Ryan Seacrest next season. Not sure anyone will be watching, but they'll be doing their thing anyway.

-I called Cablevision last night, they did some speed test and told me that the reason I couldn't stream the Howard Stern birthday show was because I needed to pay $5.00 more for higher speeds. So gave them MORE money, the guy did everything on his end, and guess what, better but still not great but there's NO WAY I'm giving them even more money. NO WAY. I did watch the final hour which included Dave Grohl and Steven Tyler and was worth 5 bucks. Even if you aren't Stern fans, check out the Birthday Bash. It's really good and you can pick and choose the sections you want to watch. You don't have to sit through all 4 hours even though it's all good. It's free on Sirius through the end of July. Give it a shot! http://www.siriusxm.com

THE SHOWS

Only thing on worth watching for me last night was The Deadliest Catch. I hate this time of the year. There's gotta be something I've missed...give me some ideas guys!

Deadliest Catch
This show never gets old...sure there's crab but there's always drama and last night definitely didn't disappoint. Wild Bill was on the crab but he's still having greenhorn trouble. I'm not sure why ANYONE would want a greenhorn. I'm not sure why anyone would want to be a greenhorn, but I guess if fishing's your thing, you gotta start somewhere. Myles, the Cape Caution's greenhorn got hit in the face with a giant pot and broke his nose. He wasn't looking good when the credits rolled.  Captain Keith wanted to take a risk and went right outside the Russian border for crab. The weather was crazy, the ice was dangerous and it took a REALLY long time to get there but...there were LOTS of crab so I guess it was worth it. Personally, risk is overrated sometimes Captain Keith! Over on the Northwestern, the fishing was great, it seems to always be great for Captain Sig, but they were having more electrical problems. Edgar is amazing. Nothing freaks him out ever. He just shut the boat down, fixed the wires and got back to fishing. Sig should have been able to breathe easy but then...the wife called.  Mandy wants to fish. Sig thought for sure his wife wouldn't allow that, but she did (probably for money/ratings purposes) and Mandy's supposedly heading up to Dutch. I cannot wait to see her on the boat. Doesn't she watch this show? IT'S CRAZY ON THAT BOAT!

THE SHOWS
True Tori Reunion
I know most of you are skipping this section, you aren't watching and that's cool, but I gotta say…all of us have had that conversation with our friends. We've all asked each other, "if you're spouse cheated on you, could you forgive? Could you stay with him/her? Everyone's answer is different. Tori and Dean's story and their answers have been played out before us on national television. People had their doubts about why anyone would allow cameras to film it all and honestly, I felt guilty watching it all, but I have to give both Tori and Dean credit for their courage. What went down was real, and raw and brutal. Last night some chick named Brooke Anderson who I'd never heard of before, hosted a reunion show that brought us all up to speed on their current situation. Net/net, they're in a decent place. Brooke had Tori's BFF, Mehran, she had her friends Wolf and Jess and of course Dr. Anne Wexler the psychiatrist with the best hair ever weighing in. All of them supported Tori and Dean throughout this process and all of them obviously have very different opinions on what they'd do if it happened to them.  Tori and Dean are together at this point and while it was ultra cheesy, Dean sang his heart out at the end of the show and I hate to admit it, but my eyes did well up with tears. I'm rooting for these guys. I really am.

Deadliest Catch
Bairdi season is o…v…e…r. The Cape Caution Greenhorn, Kelly Collins, made it through but highly unlikely we'll ever see him on any deck ever again. Junior's back surgery went well. Hopefully he'll be able to fish again but I have my doubts. Elliot went to rehab in Taos, NM and Monty, even after his major screw up, met his quota and the gang got through the season. Unfortunately some fisherman didn't return home from the season. Sad right? Next week, The Harris's and the Cornelia Marie return which is one of the things I've been waiting for,  but I really want to see Sig's daughter on deck. That's what Discovery promised me, now where is she?

Ladies of London
Hated it. It's that simple. I thought it would be fun, it wasn't. The Americans came across like idiots, the Brits are snobs, there's nobody likable or interesting at all. Don't bother.

THE OTHER STUFF

- I rarely report on on casting news, but I swear, I called it that Corey Stoll would be a big deal and with the news that he would be joining the Homeland cast I feel vindicated. For anyone who doesn't know who Corey Stoll is, you need to stop reading this blog and go watch House of Cards. When you're done, you'll agree with me on the Corey Stoll thing.

-On Monday night's Tonight Show, my FBFF sent the real Ryan Lewis from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis out to Bryant Park to see if anyone knew who he was and what he does. As usual…hilarious. I consider myself a huge fan of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and I totally would have known it was him, but I don't know if I would have been able to tell you what he actually does. Top 5 DVR'ed Shows for the week of 5/5/14-5/11/14

Modern Family-ABC From a 2.9 to a 4.9 (+69%)

Marvel Agents S.H.I.E.L.D-ABC From a 1.9 to a 3.2 (+68%)

-HBO's The Normal Heart was seen by 1.4 million viewers the night it aired. This is almost half of what Behind the Candelabra delivered last Memorial Day but it still ranked 5th out of the 17 original movies HBO has premiered in the last 4 years. I'm betting that The Normal Heart will do well in Live+7 or longer. It's the kind of movie you NEED to be ready and in the mood for. It's heavy, so people may have taken that into consideration knowing the subject matter.

-The midseason finale of Mad Men delivered 1.9 million viewers on Sunday night which was down a LOT vs. the season 6 finale. 2.7 million people watched that one! Maybe everyone is as sick of Don Draper as I am.

THE SHOWS

In one room of my house the Ranger game was on. I LOVE sports…LOVE, but I will type it right here…I hate hockey. I've tried to watch it, I've tried to like it. I even went to the Hockey Hall of Fame this past weekend, but I just can't get into it. My guys love hockey and this Ranger insanity is out of hand at the moment. I lasted 10 minutes and then hit my DVR.

Orphan Black
Orphan Black is still SO good but gotta admit, it's getting a bit confusing with all of the cast of characters and I'm not even talking about the girls! Dr. Leeky, Duncan/Peckham, Mrs. S. Art, his partner, Vic, Maggie, and the this list goes on and on. They're sort of straying from the characters I love the most like Allison, Cosima, Felix and Liam from Nashville. Of course the best character is Helena. She is one tough motherf-er. I don't like to find fault, but what was Sarah thinking leaving Helena alone in a car for who knows how long? Of course she'd get into trouble. I don't know how long Sarah was in the basement looking at files for, but it was long enough for Helena to drink 50 drinks, brake one guys finger, come on to and make out with another guy, rip the eyes out of the first guy and get arrested. The other thing I have an issue with is how EVERYONE seems to be able to find each other. They all think they aren't being followed and yet they all turn up at the same spot. A tad too convenient. Other that that…the show rules.

Deadliest Catch
Catching crab was the least of it last night on Deadliest Catch. The Northwestern had engine trouble, Jonathan and Scotty Hilstrand changed jobs for 4 pots, Scott Cambell's in really bad shape with his back issues and may never fish again, Kelly Collins the greenhorn has a warrant out for his arrest, Elliot was still fighting with Val, went off the wagon and left the boat to go to rehab. Seems many of these guys struggle with addiction. As much as I love so many of the Deadliest Catch guys, I think their lives are probably pretty nutty. It probably takes a special kind of woman to stay with one of these guys and deal with all the crap that IS their normal. I know I couldn't do it. Plus I have a crazy sense of smell,  I'm sure I couldn't deal with the stench of Zig and Edgar when they come home after the season ends.

True Tori Finale-sort of
The final episode of this stress filled, anxiety hour was basically this: Should Dean stay in L.A. with the family or go to Toronto to film Chopped Canada. Okay so I've  really simplified it for you. The truth is that it's all about trust. Dean would have had a major lawsuit on his hands if he walked away from his obligation and by the looks of things, money IS an issue. No help with the kids, no cleaning lady that I've seen. No car service to the airport, nada. Not sure where Candy Spelling has been in all of this, but Tori needs help, why isn't she there? Dean ended up going to Canada. He'll have to earn Tori's trust in order for them to make it and since it's all happening in nearly real time, we're not sure where things are right now. The good news…a special one night only show next week. Not sure if that still means that last nights episode was really the finale or if next weeks episode should be considered the finale. Regardless, I'll be watching. The scenes lead us to believe that there might have been other women prior to the one incident we know about. Hope not or Dean better get the tattoo we found out about last night removed. You know, the one above his privates that says "Tori's."  Tori is so obsessed with this idea of "Happily Ever After"  and the perfect fairytale marriage that I doubt she'll ever feel satisfied.

THE OTHER STUFF

-A bit of a shakeup over at NBC with some restructuring. I don't know what the structure was before, but the network is doing away with separate development heads and grouping them in to one role. The woman who was the head of drama series development, Pearlena Igbokwe will now be EVP of drama programming and handle development. Vernon Sanders the former head of current programming will be EVP of comedy programming and head development as well. Tai Rabinowitz who was the head of comedy development is gone. These guys will all report o Jennifer Salke, NBC Entertainment President.

-The Television Critics Association released their nominations yesterday. Check out Best Drama nominees, their brutal: The Americans, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, House of Cards & The Good Wife.
Best Comedy: Big Bang Theory, Parks and Rec, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Louis, TheMindy Projuect and Veep
Individual Achievement in Drama: Bryan Cranston, Julianna Marguilies, Tatiana Maslana, Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Rhys
Individual Achievement in Comedy-Louis C.K. Mindy Kaling, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Jim Parsons and Amy Poehler
Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming-Amazing Race, RuPaul's Drag Race, Shark Tank, Survivor and The Voice
Program of the Year-Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Good Wife, Orange is the New Black and True Detective
The awards are given out on 7/19

-Game of Thrones fans...I'm warning you, this is really funny, but it's also got spoilers and some pretty major cursing in it. Seth Rogan and Snoop Dog (or Lion or whatever) smoking dope and talking Game of Thrones...check it out. Apologies if anyone's offended.
http://mashable.com/2014/05/26/game-of-thrones-seth-rogen-snoop-dogg/?utm_cid=mash-com-fb-main-link

-To celebrate Gay Pride Month, Showtime is re-airing full seasons of The "L" Word and Queer as Folk in June.  I've never seen The "L" Word, but I LOVED Queer as Folk. Gale Harold played Brian Kinney, one of the hottest, coolest guys ever. I'd definitely check it out if you've never seen it. I hope they run the first season, it had a great cliffhanger ending. Warning you in advance, it's pretty graphic.

-ABC Family's new show Chasing LIfe is available to check out right now on the ABC Watch App for anyone who wants to get a jump on it before the premiere on 6/3. I'm loving this strategy. Gives me a chance to decide early whether to get on the bandwagon or not.

-I know how much Les Moonves loves touting his #1 status, I wonder if having the 2nd highest salary of all CEO's will generate a call to the research department to start spinning numbers and turn this negative into a positive. . Sure he could say that out of all the MEDIA CEO's he's #1. Or he could tell Julie that he made nearly double what Bob Iger made and 109% more than Brian Roberts.  I can hear Julie now "but Les, you made SO much more than all those other guys…come on babe, how about some sushi and a little Good Wife…that'll cheer you up."

THE SHOWS
Glee
Didn't think that Glee could get any more annoying but, it could and it did. If you recall, Glee USED to be about a Glee club with many members. Now, it's the Rachel Berry show. Sure Lea Michelle has a great voice, but her character is my least favorite and it's all her all the time. I can't take it. That being said, for 5 years all Rachel's wanted was to be on Broadway. She's there 3 weeks and she's ready to give it all up for a TV show in LA? COME ON! The Shirley MacLaine thing was odd. She looked good with that wig, and she was good, but it still felt weird having her and Blaine performing Janis Joplin's " Piece of my Heart."Okay there were 2 crazy cameo's in the show last night, that's honestly all that kept me going really. One of them was Eric Roberts, I'll give you that one, but did you catch the TV executive with Cerebral Palsy? I totally know who she is and where we knew her from back in the day. If you do too...bonus points. I know next season is the last season, just don't know if I'll be back for it or not.

The Goldbergs
Forget the entire first love thing with Erica and Drew and the Varsity jacket. Forget Bev and her buddy across the street. Forget tater tots. Let's talk about THE ARCADE! Come on…how many quarters did all of us blow at the arcade? We all remember Asteroids, Pacman and Centipede but Zaxxon and Punch-Out! I remember jonesin for quarters like Barry Norman Goldberg did. I was a Crystal Castles, Xevious and Qix obsessed lunatic.  I was right there in the dark arcade for hours on end. I took the laundry money, I searched the couch, my Mom's bag... anything for a quarter. So Barry Norman Goldberg…I feel ya! I even had that same Gant rugby. Couple a things though…were interventions and mood rings around in the 80's? I sort of remember mood rings in the 70's not so much in the 80's but I could be wrong.
Did you get the "Kessel Run in 12 Parsecs" reference. Points if you did. Also as is always the case after an episode of The Goldbergs…name that tune for even more bonus points.

Deadliest Catch
One of the OTHER reasons I gave up watching The Deadliest Catch (The first was the Captain Phil Harris thing remember?) was because it became the same old thing week after week. Pots with crab, pots without, bad weather, good weather, The Hanson's and the Hildenbrands, great greenhorns, crappy greenhorns. You know what I mean. So I came back this season because I want to see Zig's daughter on deck. First 2 episodes, we've got bad weather, some crews are on the crab some are off. One captain's struggling with back pain and one captain's struggling with a greenhorn pain but guess what…no appearance by Zig's daughter. Where is she? If she doesn't show up until the finale, I'm gonna freak out!

Chasing Maria Menounos
I know you are all making fun of me for watching Chasing Maria, but I don't even care. I think I have a real girl crush on Maria. It's not the same as my thing for Emma Stone it's a full on girl crush. She's SO beautiful and looks SO good in every single thing she wears and has perfect teeth and perfect hair and she's funny and she likes Howard Stern and I'm intrigued by the fact that she covers Hollywood but yet she lives with her parents, works out alone in her basement without a trainer and has been with Keven for 15 years and all he lives to do his make her happy and ya know what. I get it Keven! I would want to make Maria happy too! I think now that "MOTHER" has finally gotten some quality time with Maria, she's under the Maria Menounos spell too! Poor Kev…bit of an issue with his testicles, and I don't want to call this clue out, but Kev has a major vein that's near his eye, so when the doctor announced that he also had a varicose vein around his privates, I wasn't THAT shocked. Light bulb moment…Lisa, Jeff Lewis's super mean client on Flipping Out is also…DUN DUN DUNNNNNN Maria Menounous's boss!  Small world...even smaller in Hollywood.

True Tori
I was all over the place watching this show last night. I felt guilty for intruding, I felt guilty for enjoying it if that's what I was feeling. Shock over the revelation that Dean was suicidal. Intrigued by how the production team dealt with all of it. I feel sad for this family. Sad for the couple, the marriage and of course for the kids who may not understand right now what's going on but someday, they'll see all of this and it will penetrate them forever. I commend Tori and Dean for their courage and honesty and their need and desire to share such intensely private emotions with all of us. I do think that it probably will help others realize they aren't alone. With all that being said, I also feel extremely manipulated. I have watched every episode of Tori & Dean's other shows (don't judge) and was always so happy for them and the love they found. I loved Dean and wanted to believe that he really really loved Tori. He seemed like he had his sh*t together, but did he then? We never knew Dean had alcohol issues and self loathing issues or anything. When I heard he cheated on Tori, I sort of felt like it was more of a Karma thing. Once a cheater always as a cheater. I mean Tori and Dean both cheated on their spouses with each other. So it was karma right? The stress is obviously taking it's toll on Tori, she looks emaciated. Luckily she has some great girlfriends and THE best celebrity therapist in Hollywood, Dr. Ann Wexler, remember her? It's the last day of the month. Points if you remember the other celeb couple we saw sit down in Dr. Wexler's office.

THE OTHER STUFF

-I'm assuming that all my readers know what binge viewing is, but for any newbies, binge viewing is defined as watching 3 or more episodes of one series in a single sitting. I'm a big fan, but I don't think I would consider myself a frequent binge viewer based on the definition below. Anyway…a really cool Binge Viewing study was recently conducted and here's what I learned:
  • 7 out of 10 U.S. TV viewers consider themselves binge-viewers
  • A frequent binge viewer is defined as someone who binge watches a few times a week
  • An infrequent binge viewer is defined as someone who binge watches once a month or less
  • 17% of binge-viewers do so on a daily basis
  • 63% of binge-viewers do so on a weekly basis
  • 90% of binge-viewers do so on a monthly basis
  • frequent binge-viewers skew younger with 61%  being Millenials
  • frequent binge-viewers are also more ethnically diverse with 34% being non-white
  • frequent binge viewers are 2x more likely to have skipped showering or bathing because of their habit
  • 27% of binge viewers said binge viewing makes them feel lazy
  • 18% of binge viewers pay less attention to other aspects of their lives
  • frequent binge viewers are 3x more likely to order take-out instead of cook OR skip a meal entirely
  • 30% of binge viewers admit it makes them less active
  • 43% of frequent binge viewers watch MORE TV overall and yet...
  • 25% of frequent binge viewers get annoyed that they have nothing left to watch once they finish a series
  • 2 out of every 5 people surveyed were willing to pay more if they could instantly have access to a full season of their fave show instead of having to wait.
  • Interestingly...frequent binge viewers are more prone to let commercials play and more likely to upgrade their cable subscriptions than infrequent viewers
  • Binge viewers who are married or living with a significant other are more likely to binge-watch together than alone
  • Women watch more procedurals than men
  • Men watch more comedies and animated adult shows
- The Tony Award Nominations came out yesterday. I'm really not a huge Broadway person, but there are quite a few TV people nominated. Bryan Cranston, Chris O'Dowd, Tony Shalhoub, Tyne Daly to name a few. I recently saw Neil Patrick Harris in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. It was an insanely hypnotic and mesmerizing performance especially since he had JUST finished How I Met Your Mother. He sings and dances all in drag and all in huge platform heels. He deserves a Tony. I might actually watch the show this year just to see what happens when he performs and hopefully wins.

-Now it's official…Gwen Stefani in for Xtina Aguilera next season on The Voice. What are the odds that Gavin makes an appearance?

-I gave up Grey's a while ago. Didn't even know that Christina Yang got left at the alter by Dr. Burke. ABC's going to air Dr. Burke's last show from 2007 in the 8pm time slot this Thursday before Dr. Yang's final episode for those of you that still watch Meredith and McDreamy.

-FOX cancelled Almost Human last night before I went to bed. Anyone bummed?

-ANOTHER version of the french show The Returned is in the works. First we had the original, then we had ABC's sort of version, Resurrection and now A&E is working on a true remake of the french version. None of them have answers by the end of the first season, sooooo do we need to have 3 of the same show? I doubt I'll get sucked in to that!
