Congrats to my NY Yankees for winning the AL East last night!
I would hope that by now those of you that have been reading this blog for a while would know that I wouldn't watch the Presidential Debates. No judging...please. I've always been pretty honest with you guys...politics is just not my thing, but I have always voted in local and federal elections, so for me that's about as much as I have to give.
I watched Hart of Dixie online last night since The Dolans didn't make a deal with the CW yet. The good news is that the show was awesome as I knew it would be. They didn't waste any time getting right to it. George found out about Zoey sleeping with Wade and while he wasn't happy about it, he still wanted Zoey to "choose him". Wade on the other hand, was first and foremost, shirtless in some of the episode which is yet another thing the CW always does so well...provides me with hot shirtless men. Wade is playing games with Zoey and claiming he wants nothing more than sex from her. She doesn't believe him, but she goes along for the ride (I mean that literally and figuratively). Lemon thought she was having a heart attack and went to Zoey's house for help. (Not her Dad's office because he's pissing her off lately). The entire town thought she went there to kill Zoey with a cake knife...it was a little lame but Zoey and Lemon are now on decent terms. Now that Lemon's available, perfect situation for Lavon and Lemon to hook up, but some chick who Lavon used to date in high school named Ruby showed arrived in town just in time to screw that storyline up completely. In the end, Zoey went with the Kelly Taylor strategy when trying to decide between Dylan and Brandon...she chose nobody...for now. I'm cool with that...for now.
It was Boot Camp time on the X Factor last night. Boot Camp took place in South Beach, which was supposedly to show the contestants what life could be like if they won. I think Simon just wanted to be in South Beach. Britney Spears' faces were painfully strange. She always looked like she smelled sour milk or something. Her faces do keep me interested. I'm guessing that sooner or later there will be an edited video on YouTube of all of her faces mashed together. The best part of the episode was the dueling Whitney Wannabe's, Paige Thomas and Cece Frey, the girl with the leopard spots on her face. Cece has way too much attitude for my taste, and Paige seem so sweet and down to earth, but when they both performed Whitney's "I Will Always Love You" it was Cece who nailed it. The good news is they both made it through to the next round along with obese singer Freddie Combs, the cute boy band, Emblem and Sophie Tweed Simmons. Thankfully, that annoying pigtailed kid, Jordyn stunk and was sent packing.
Final show of the night for me was my FBFF's show Guys with Kids. I'm standing by my future friend. I like this one. No, it's not Emmy winning or anything, it's just a fun show. This week, Vanessa Huxtable wanted to try for a daughter. Gary doesn't want anymore kids. They have 4 boys and while I thought from the last episode that one of them was named Yoda, it was confirmed in this week's episode. I have issues seeing Vanessa Huxtable trying to be sexy, and apparently she never wore short sleeves on the Cosby Show because I never noticed the VERY large birthmark on her arm before last night. Chris's ex-wife, Sheila looks SO much like Minka Kelly that this is the 2nd week in a row that I IMDB'ed her to confirm she isn't Minka Kelly. I like the show...I'm giving it a Season Pass and hoping for the best.
For all of you beauty pageant fans, Chris Harrison and Brooke Burke will be back to host the 2013 Miss Universe...I couldn't care less, but I do try to provide you all with as much info as possible.
I read last night that the show The Insider is most likely changing it's name to OMG! (exclamation point included) It's not a joke, at least I don't think it is. It could be a good one if it was, but from what I can tell it's seriously happening. I thought you couldn't used God's name (I'm not religious, and honestly I don't care at all...I just thought it was a thing or a rule or something). Would we call it 'Oh My God" or "OMG! NOW. I don't even know if my punctuation is right with that sentence. If it does happen (I vote no -I told you I voted) it wouldn't happen until January.
I did find this chart surprising. While Ipad is still leading, it's competitors sure have closed the gap in a year.
I wanted to put something out there about online viewing of network & cable programs. Last night I watched Hart of Dixie on the CW's website and honestly, it was an enjoyable experience. Was it as enjoyable as laying comfortably on my couch, in my blankets, with my tea and snacks like I would normally view my primetime shows? No, but it was still a decent experience. There were quite a few commercial breaks with quite a few commercials that I couldn't skip through, so the experience was similar to watching Live TV. So I guess my question is, what would be the big deal about making the show available online and on air at the same time? The fact is that the online viewing is measured, to some extent more accurately than the on air viewing is. While the metrics don't define that I am a W18-49, they certainly define my viewing habits and my surfing habits. So what's the harm in providing Primetime 360? Times are changing. I am pretty sure that if it wasn't for the Dolan's and my current circumstance with the CW, I would always choose to watch all of my Primetime programming on my big beautiful TV, but if I can't for whatever reason, I don't see the harm in having the show available online at the same time. Just a thought.
