THE SHOWS
Game of Thrones
Stanis Baratheon and Lord Davos went to the Iron Bank for a loan and were DENIED. Theon's sister went to rescue, him saw what a mess he was and split. So pathetic and sad and now he's going to pretend to be his former self to help his torturer.  Dani's Dragon's are out of control flying around burning land and killing animals. The towns people of Meeran needed to bitch about that any everything else and to her credit, Dani met with each and every one of them. Heard them, helped them and tried to be the fairest Queen of all time.  All that was a pre-cursor to Tyrion's trial. Shea came back and totally screwed him over big time. He got really PISSED and gave it to them all in an Emmy Award winning speech where he requested a trial by combat. Guess that happens next week. Pretty serious daddy issues huh? Good for Tyrion, I love that guy but hope he doesn't die in combat.

The Good Wife
Loving the new Alicia Florick. She's just not going to take any sh*t from anyone anymore. Hopefully she figures out a way to help Diane kick the crap out of Louis and David Lee. David Lee's gotta be in on all this stuff, right? I still don't get why Canning wants to put the screws to Diane so badly, doesn't seem like a Bucket List type thing to me. Finn finally got a much needed haircut. Which will help with my endorsement but not sure about Peter's. I know theoretically he'd need the Governors endorsement, but it looks like Peter's going to get into some intern hot water soon, so maybe it's not THAT bad if he doesn't get his blessing. Tom Skerritt never seems to age. He looks better now than he ever did. Jill Hennessey looked pretty damn good too. That was her right? What's with the name Rayna? Nashville and The Good Wife and I feel like there's a third one out there somewhere. If there isn't, there will be.  Looks like the finale will be pretty juicy next week.

Nurse Jackie
Jackie's back to her old tricks BIG time. Frank caught her popping pills, called her out and then experienced her awesome lying first hand. She hid everything she had in a broken tampon machine, but Dr. Roman had that replaced and Jackie headed over to her friends house for a pre-party. Cleaned herself up, borrowed a jacket and met Kevin and his fiance for dinner. Frank showed up even though he threw out his back and found more of Jackie's stash in the remote control. Damn she's a good pill hider. Huge news I didn't see coming. Kevin's having a baby. That should just about do Jackie in. I hate vomit in general, but Carrie getting vomitted on was enjoyable. Dr. Prentiss is a d*ck but at least we know why. Zoey defended him because he customizes her food which IS sweet. Still feel like it'll end bad for them both though. Nobody's ever happy in this show, so it's pretty much a given.

Orphan Black
All of our girls are in deep sh*t. Sarah thought she killed Daniel, but of course he wasn't dead and showed up while she was searching Rachel's place. I'm pretty sure that Sarah hasn't changed her clothes since the start of the season or maybe since last season. She could have taken some of Rachel's stuff since it's really nice and would definitely fit, but Daniel thwarted all of her plans, tied her up and started slicing her. Good thing the indestructible Helena showed up when she did...or was it? That chick's out of her mind. Cosima's sick, but nobody knows about it and at this point she can still pull knowledge out of her butt that nobody else would ever be able to figure out, like the meaning behind Project Lita. Who would know that stuff? Allison's got a broken arm and is stuck in rehab. Liam, I mean Kal,  is taking to fatherhood pretty well and he apparently has some secret stuff going on too otherwise why would he have an unregistered camper at the ready? Something fishy's going on with him too. Then of course you have Mrs. S. her story's still unfolding, but we did learn that she likes to do it in public places and that she has an old friend she likes to do it public with who of course is all part of the story.

Hart of Dixie
It's come to this.  I DVR Hart of Dixie and fast forward until I find scenes with Wade and Zoey. All I know from Friday's episode is that someone offered to franchise The Rammer Jammer so Wade's moving to Atlanta and Zoey's freaking out. Is he REALLY going to leave? Now that we know Hart of Dixie's coming back, I'm betting he's sticking around.

Chosen

Up until a couple of weeks ago, the only show I had ever watched on Crackle was Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Verizon sponsors a show on there called Chosen. I finally had a chance to watch it and it is GOOD. REALLY GOOD! There are 3 6 episode seasons to catch up on. Each episode is only 22 minutes and they fly by. The premise is that the doorbell rings, the person answers it and they receive a box with a target to kill in a certain amount of time. That's all I'll tell you. It's SO much more than that. The cast is great. You'll recognize Milo Vertimiglia from Gilmore Girls and Heroes and Chad Michael Murray from One Tree Hill. It's intense and there are some f'ed up things that go down. Check it out. I'm adding it to the WWTM Binge List.

THE OTHER STUFF

It's Upfront Week guys...I love Upfront Week. Today is NBC's. The Fall Schedule has been released and the bittersweet news is that Parenthood will be back for a 13 episode 6th and final season. Thanks NBC, I'll enjoy every single minute of it. Parks and Rec got a final season too and Community got cancelled entirely and everyone online went insane all weekend long.

Here's the NBC Fall Schedule: I'll let you know what I think of all the new shows as I watch the pilots. It's pretty unfair to judge on clips alone.

-I admit, I don't watch much Comedy Central programming. Some roasts here and there. The occasional Colbert Report and Daily Show, but not enough to have an opinion on Stephen Colbert's replacement…Larry Wilmore. The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore will replace Stephen Colbert's Colbert Report and I hope for all of you that are fans and Comedy Central devotees, that you're cool with that.

Monday's Trivia Question: It's definitely a theme week and I think a tough one at that.  So here goes question #1:  Before Homeland, Morena Baccarin starred with Nathan Fillion and Gina Torres in this Joss Whedon show that aired on FOX.  Name the show.

THE SHOWS

Academy of Country Music Awards (Only the first Hour)
Blake and Luke were pretty controversial with their opening monologue. Same sex marriage, legalization of marijuana, Brittany Spears lack of live music in her Vegas show, Justin Bieber and more. Pretty surprising and pretty freaking funny if you ask me. The Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line performed and then, Brad Paisley played to a pool filled with way too many people, drinking way too much out of red solo cups which means that the pool had way too much pee in it by the end of Brad's new song. Blake Shelton sang his new song "My Eyes" with Gwen Sebastian who looked like Miranda before she lost the weight. Miranda and her cleavage were singing every word right along with her hubby. Brett Everidge looks just like Gerard Butler to me. Martina McBride introduced George Strait sang a new song also. Nobody knew the words, and the audience was pretty quiet while he performed. George  wore a guitar but didn't play it at all. Why wear it then? Lee Brice was up next with a pretty cool version of "I Drive Your Truck." Guy Fieri was in the house plugging his new Vegas restaurant sporting a camouflage suit. Eric Church was up next with "My Hometown." Still no awards given out 46 minutes in. Justin Moore was next with "Lettin the Night Roll." Still no awards…this is an award show right? After the commercial break, Shakira and Blake performed together. In the hour I watched the ACM's…not one award given out to anyone.

Game of Thrones
Jamie Lannister got a new haircut and new sword. He still only has one hand, but they built him a new one out of gold. That must be tough to fight with. A heavy gold hand and a heavy Valerian Steel sword.  How's he going to keep the King's safe now. His Dad wants him back   at Casterly Rock but he wants to stay close to his sister who's pissed at him for leaving her and losing his hand. The King's still a d*ck but we didn't expect him to change in a year did we? My have, Lord Tyrion is still Master of Coin and now it seems, he's also the welcome wagon. I also don't think he's been getting any. Shea's pissed off at him and Sansa's a wreck after hearing about the fate of her family. Prince Oberron showed up for the Royal wedding. He seems into some kinky stuff and he's pissed off at the Lannisters as well.  Man those dragons got big and they don't seem like they're totally controllable. Daenerys's army is massive now and she also has Liam from Nashville trying to impress her and get on her good side. Jon Snow's back at the wall recovering from his injuries and getting in trouble for his Wilding antics. Brienne's still around, Marjorie and her grandmother are involved in wedding plans and Aya's still with hound but she finally found her own horse. I think I actually understood most of Game of Thrones this time. I don't even think I have to watch it twice. Glad it's back, I've missed it.

Silicon Valley
Did you guys like Silicon Valley? I think I did. Lots of people from other things. Martin Star, the guy who grew the beard in Knocked Up, the guy from Big Love and a few others that I recognized from somewhere. Was that really Kid Rock at the beginning? They billed this show as a comedy, not sure I laughed much, but I think it's got potential. I did enjoy the very narrow car. What did you think?

The Americans
This show is getting confusing...the spy stuff is anyway. Actually I'm sort of confused by almost everything right now. Maybe it's all the wigs, I don't know. All of the Americans seem to be in trouble, all of the Russians seem to be in danger. A new Russian female spy killed her American boyfriend by putting something in the drugs he was doing and then when he died she kissed his vomitty mouth which totally grossed me out.  Elizabeth and Phillip had a really nice night together. She was even naked. It was a nice moment AND you got to see Felicity's back and butt.  The nice night was followed by a night so nice night and ruined everything when Elizabeth wanted to find out what Martha, Phillips's other wife, meant when she told Elizabeth that her brother was an "animal" in bed. Who tells someone that their brother is an animal in bed? I don't think she liked what happened next. I know I didn't. Clark was rough and borderline abusive. I didn't like seeing him like that and I definitely didn't like seeing her so upset and confused.

Hart of Dixie
As we know with this show, every week in Bluebell, there is some sort of party, event, parade etc. This week was no exception, some sort of party welcoming a bunch of French people to town, a man of the year thing that Brick was vying for but somehow lost to Joel who wasn't even there to accept the honor. Of course there has to be some sort of  wacky hijinks. This week it was George, Wade and Lemon trying to get Fancies back. They got it back, screwed it up and then lost it again. I really didn't care about any of those stories at all. The only part I cared about was the Joel/Zoey long distance relationship thing. Of course they couldn't make it work and shockingly, Joel and Zoey are done. The whole town came to Zoey's aid to help her through the break-up which was nice to see. The writers set it up where Joel COULD come back at either the wrong time or the right time, but hopefully he never comes back and Zoey ends up with George or Wade or Seth Cohen could show up in Bluebell and take Zoey to the O.C. At this point, I think I'd be happy with any of these options.

Vikings
As I predicted, the toughest woman on television, Lagertha, went back to her husband, got beaten for leaving him in the first place, and then when he was going to force her to take her top off for all the men of the village, she took a knife and stabbed him in the head and killed him. Next prediction, she will take over the village and lead her people back to Ragnar Lothbrook. He could use the help. A lot of other stuff happened, but who cares, Lagertha's the best. There should be a Vikings drinking game. Every time someone says RAGNAR LOTHBROOK…DRINK!

THE OTHER STUFF

Other than Mickey Rooney passing away last night at the age of 93 and Always Sunny in Philadelphia getting renewed for 2 more seasons, no other major new worth reporting. Slow weekend I guess.

Monday's Tough Trivia Question: Ratings are down this season, but Duck Dynasty is still a big show. I don't watch it, but maybe some of you guys do. What is the Duck Dynasty families last name? Points for as many of their first names also.

THE SHOWS

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
We've seen Mohammed's house before, but each time I see it, I just can't get over how massive it is. According to Yolanda it's 50,000 square feet! How old do we think Shiva, Mohammed's fiance, is? She's young and stunning but I guess it's all about the Benjamins. No way that guy, with that hair, gets a Shiva unless he's loaded with dough. No way. Carlton invited Mauricio without Kyle to her husbands party? She says she's not like them...with that move, she sure feels like one of them. Joyce doesn't work out? Now I hate her guts. How in the world does she look like that and NOT work out? Also, one other thing. Joyce has crazy long thick hair that she claims is all hers, but when she was working out she had it up in a bun that looked way too small for all that hair. Now I'm thinking extensions. At Carlton's party, Lisa and Ken just cut the entire line did you catch that? Pretty sure here in NJ one doesn't get to take a private, verbal citizenship test. Is that a Beverly Hills thing or a Yolanda Foster thing? I don't know who Kyle's stylist is, but she always looks likes she hiding her body or her clothes don't fit right or something then she goes hiking with Brandi in her workout clothes and she looked pretty good. Fire the stylist and hire Stassi since she's in training over at Lisa's house. I know Jiggy lives a charmed life, but I wonder if he knows how ridiculous he looks in all the outfits? Sometimes I feel bad for that dog.

Hart of Dixie
A whole lot of ridiculous running around just so that Zoey's Mom wouldn't go to her birthday party. Lame storyline especially when Zoey's Mom feels so close to her daughter that she's actually moving to Bluebelle. Tanzy's here then she's gone then she's back now she's gone again. I liked her, but if she's leaving, let her leave already. When whatever pilot she's making doesn't make it, she'll be back again I'm sure. Take Scooter and split...buh bye Tanzy. AB's back in the Belle's doing whatever Belle's do and Wade's drunk Dad managed to stay sober long enough to meet Vivian and not mortify his son. Cuteness over.

THE OTHER STUFF

-To keep fans engaged with their favorite shows while they're on the Olympic break, NBC's launching 4 new web series starting tonight with Chicago Fire. The one I'm most excited about is the one for Parenthood on Thursday. Jesse Plemons aka Landry Clarke and Derek Phillips aka Billy Riggins both of Friday Night Lights, play their former characters looking for a place for their band, Crucifictorius, to record and hit the Luncheonette.  Here's the rest of the lineup:

Chicago Fire 2/11
Parenthood 2/13
Grimm 2/14
Parks & Rec 2/20

-My FBFF Jimmy Fallon announced his guests for next weeks premiere episodes: My DVR's set. Is yours? Pretty strong first week, especially Friday. You know what happens when these guys get together...magic.

Monday, Feb. 17: Guest Will Smith and musical guest U2.
Tuesday, Feb. 18: Guests Jerry Seinfeld, Kristen Wiig and musical guest Lady Gaga.
Wednesday, Feb. 19: Guest Bradley Cooper and musical guest Tim McGraw.
Thursday, Feb. 20: Guests First Lady Michelle Obama, Will Ferrell and musical guest Arcade Fire.
Friday, Feb. 21: Guest Justin Timberlake

-Seth Meyers isn't as into music as Jimmy is, so he hired another SNL alum,  Fred Armisen to be his bandleader. Not sure if his first job as bandleader was to name the band. Pretty original name... 8G Band which Seth's new studio. Hope that's not a sign of things to come.

-Good news for Mark and Donnie Wahlberg...18 more eps of their show have been orders Wahlburgers is considered a hit!

-Never saw Mob City on TNT, now I never will. Cancelled. Anyone watch?

-If you're not into watching the Olympics tonight and you haven't listened to me yet, check out The Goldbergs on ABC. They're running 3 episodes from 8-930pm. There hasn't been one bad episode yet, so it's a great time to jump in with both feet and check it out.

-The Nielsen "Digital Consumer" Report revealed some pretty interesting tidbits. Here are some I think you'll like:

  • 40 percent of adults 18-24, twice the national average, use social media in the bathroom.
  • An eye-popping 84 percent are using another device — a smartphone or tablet — when they watch TV.
  • 38 percent of US consumers subscribe, or use, Netflix streaming service; 23 percent of those said they watch it on a smartphone outside the home, up from 11 percent the year before.
  • As a nation we spend a stunning 2¹/ days a week, or 60 hours, consuming media content across all devices.
  • Bad news for advertisers trying to reach viewers with perishable offers: We’re watching almost 3 hours less live TV a month, even though TV remains the most-watched screen.
  • Time spent watching TV via DVRs or On Demand services rose by 1 hour, 42 minutes, while video viewing via the Web rose by 43 minutes.
  • The shifts have sent the value of content watched live much higher, particularly sports content.
  • Smartphone users spent almost 10 hours more per month using apps and browsing the Web than last year.
  • Most social-media sites have seen their PC audiences sink, with the exception of LinkedIn, Nielsen finds. LinkedIn saw a 37 percent jump in its unique audience to 39 million.
  • Facebook and its Instagram unit dominated social media in terms of unique audience on smartphones, Nielsen found. The two social-media brands had a unique app-based audience of 144 million combined.
  • Facebook grew 39 percent, while Instagram jumped 79 percent.
  • Twitter, the next-closest competitor, grew by a much smaller percentage, Nielsen found. It increased by 38 percent, to 31 million.
  • Americans spent 7 hours, 43 minutes a month on Facebook checking out baby photos, remembering dead relatives and photographing their meals, according to the report.
  • They spent 3 hours on Twitter, doing such things as sharing complaints about bad service

While the A18-49 rating was down YOY for the Super Bowl, overall the show was the most viewed TV Show in US History. 111.5 million people watched the game on Sunday. The Giants/Patriots Super Bowl, the former record holder, had 111.3 million people watching.  On the Household, the game delivered a 46.4 rating  which was the same rating as last year.
In local markets, Kansas City delivered the highest rating with a 58.1 HH. Seattle came in 2nd with a 56.7. Denver delivered a 51.4 and New York a 50.5 (best since 1987)

Downton Abbey held its own against the Super Bowl and timing was perfect for people to switch over to it at 9pm if they wanted to. 6.8 million people watched it live. Pretty impressive, but the show rocks so I'm not that surprised.

THE SHOWS

How I Met Your Mother
Man they shoved a lot of nuggets into this episode. Nothing Mom oriented though, I guess we got a bunch of Mom stuff and now we wait again. It didn't matter because there was some  much needed letting go that had to get done so that Ted would be ready for Mom when he meets her. Before Ted told Robin that he was still in love with her and that he was moving to Chicago, Robin told Ted who the gang thought were his 5 best and worst relationships. If you can name all 5 of his best or all 5 of his worst or all 10, you'll score some mega bonus points. Ted was also flashing back to some of the women on the lists trying to find Robin's locket. He spoke to Stella, Victoria and Janette (I just gave you 3 names) and it was Victoria who had it. Unfortunately she sent it to Janette who threw it over the Central Park bridge in the first of the super cheesy special effects moments of this episode. The second one was when Ted let go of Robin and she floated away like his childhood red balloon best friend.  Down the road a bit, a very wasted Barney was training 2 young guys on the art of meeting women. Strip clubs, a Tim Gunn suit and THE best pick up line..."Haaaaave ya met Justin?" Grossest name of a strip club ever...The Crab Shed? Ewwwwww. When all was said and done, Barney gave the guys his playbook and never revealed his name to them making him legend-WAIT FOR IT-ary.  The entire Marshall, ghost Lily, 7 years ago Lily and dead Dad thing was sorta stupid especially since we all knew they'd make up and never go to Italy. Extra points if you knew the Bangles tune playing at the end of the show.

Hart of Dixie
What, you may ask, was the big "thing" going on in BlueBelle's town square this week?
Thanks to Dr. Zoey Hart, the Bluebelle Health and Wellness Challenge where everyone in town had to eat right and exercise to lose a total of 500 lbs.  Cute idea to get Rachel Bilson and the other women in tight fitting gym clothes for an entire episode. Zoey bet Brick that if the town achieved their goal she would get her partnership back. Of course Brick knew that the town would never make the goal because Cricket moved up the Cake Festival. Of course Zoey freaked out and tried to get Cricket to change the date but she wouldn't because she bankrupted the Belle's and needed the money. Okay so is being a Belle a job? Do the Belle's do anything other than shopping, sipping and snobbery? How does one bankrupt a bankrupt group of women? Joel's book's main character has some issues so Joel decided to follow Wade around town and learn what a real mans man is all about. Good news for me, he got to see Wade pick out an outfit which was really a great excuse for me to see Wade with his shirt off which we haven't seen in a while. Thanks writers. Good News/Bad News just before Valentines Day. LaVon and AB broke up, that's the bad news. George and Tanzy made out and will probably get back together in a few episodes. That's the bad news. Sugary sweetness which was what one needs to balance out the hour spent with cuckoo for cocoa puffs Carlton on RHOBH.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
I can't keep straight anymore who hates who, who loves who etc. All I know is that this week Lisa and Kyle decided to throw a small intimate gagillion dollar birthday party at Lisa's house for Ken and Mauricio's birthday. Lisa, who has 2 restaurants of her own, needed Kevin "she she she" Lee the botoxed, puffy lipped party planner to help her and Kyle out.  He did a beautiful job with the exception of these odd water dancers. You know what happens at dinner parties on this show...catfight. This time it was Kyle and Carlton and honestly Carlton was looking for a fight, she really was. She's completely manipulative and out of her mind. I don't even know why they invited her. Well...yes I do, ratings. Yolanda wasn't at the dinner party because she was at her step-daughters wedding and apparently none of the women were invited. Yolanda and Kim are both sending their daughters off to college. The two mother/daughter pairs couldn't be any more different. Yolanda bought a 1000 dollars worth of bubble wrap and was packing everything up nice and neat while Kim and Kimberly were out getting matching butterfly tattoos. Joyce asked Carlton out for lunch to find out if she put a spell on her husband. Of course she denied it. Carlton was pissed at Joyce for even thinking she would practice dark magic.  Joyce is an idiot who didn't know what the word "flippant" meant. Also idiotic, the names of some of these people.  Lisa had her SUR staff working the party. Jax, Stassi and Schaena.  What kind of names are these? I need to meet their parents.

Hollywood Game Night
I could watch HGN every night. Last nights players were: Taryn Manning from Orange is the New Black, Donald Faison and Kaley Cuoco against Rosie O'Donnell, Chris Colfer & Penny Marshall. Rosie has lost a bit of weight but Penny's gained it all. I couldn't get over Penny Marshall and how terrible she looked. Rosie was a little too competitive and a little too loud but I knew she'd be good at the games, but Donald Faison was way better than she was.
