I started to watch Start Ups: Silicon Valley, the newest Bravo reality show that premiered last night after RHOBH. I had high hopes from the clips I had seen and because it had the backing of Randi Zuckerberg, Mark's sister. I'm not going to delete the season pass just yet, but I dont think this one works for me. I'm not sure why and I'm not sure what it is but I will give it another episode and see if I can stick with it. Did anyone out there watch it? Did you feel the same nothing that I did?
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is back! Yeah! Lisa sold her old mansion and bought a new mansion with the most insane closet I've EVER seen...EVER. Over at Kyle's house, Mauricio surprised Kyle with that Maserati she's had her eyes on for a while. Drama started in the first 10 minutes when Adrienne found out by accident that Lisa didn't invite her to the Villa Blanca anniversary party. New housewife alert, Dutch model and self professed romantic, Yolanda Foster, David Foster, the music guy's wife who also happens to be Mohammed from last season's ex-wife. Hilton alert...first time ever that Kyle and Kim's sister, Kathy appeared on the show. Just a reminder, Kathy is Paris Hilton's Mom. Kathy apparently owns every party dress in every size, so Kim and her daughter Kimberly stop by to shop (without paying of course) for a prom dress. Kyle showed up to give her opinion too. Ahhh 3 sisters all together again. Kyle's youngest daughter, 4 year old Portia was already getting involved in the BH drama with her birthday party invitations At the Villa Blanca party a huge HUGE flower arrangement showed up for Lisa from Adrienne who wasn't invited...freaky. Sure it could have been considered a nice thing or a complete F U! I took it as a big F U what did you think?
First Live Playoff of the season over on The Voice. Adam looked especially handsome last night. I always find it so cute that he buttons all 3 buttons on his collared golf T-Shirt. Blake looked amazing in his brown suede jacket, Drooptina had a decent look, but the winner of best outfit goes to CeeLo for donning Jerry Seinfeld's puffy shirt , DeBarge's hair and a bedazzled mini fan and making it his own, even Jerry tweeted how pleased he was:
The show opened with Adam's team and Blake's team performing a great version of Boston's "Peace of Mind, and then the competition began with Joselyn Rivera. She's gorgeous, but she wasn't that good, she had some voice issues. Terry McDermott sang Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" really really well, and that is a very tough song to sing. Melanie Martinez, the girl with the half and half bow hair, sang "Hit the Road Jack" and I just fast forwarded through the entire thing. I don't like anything about her, but the judges and the audience do and I just don't get it. Different strokes... Liz Davis's rendition of Independence Day was strong. Casadee Pope sang Avril Lavigne's song "Happy Ending" which I loved and she looked awesome. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure she wasn't wearing any underwear. Bryan Keith sang the Goo Goo Dolls "Iris" a perfect song for him. He did a great job. Michaela Page with her triangle hair bugs me, but she kicked butt with Neon Trees "Everybody Talks". How do you even come up with the triangle head look? I don't EVER look in the mirror and think "damn, I'd look really good with triangle hair." Julio Castillo sang in Espanol and the crowd seemed to enjoy it and coincidentally, Lou "La Bamba" Diamond Phillips was in the audience. I didn't enjoy the song and just wanted it to end but I was watching live at the point and couldn't Tivo my way through it. Loren Allred sang "Been Around the World" by Lisa Stansfield, a great great song and Loren killed it. Last performance was Amanda Brown 's rendition of Aerosmith's "Dream On". The judges and the audience loved it, me, not so much. That's a hard song to pull off.
I LOVE dogs...love, but I always get worried when a show adds kids and/or dogs to it when it didn't have them in the cast to start. It's usually a sure sign that the end is near or that it should be. On How I Met Your Mother, we already had the addition of Marvin, Lily and Marshall's kid and in last night's episode, we almost got Brover, and adorable dog that Barney found and used to replace Nora. There were some gross moments with Barney and Brover getting a little too intimate, but of course just as we get suckered into thinking Brover would in fact make a great addition, his owner shows up. On the other side of the episode, Victoria pushed Ted to propose which I wasn't happy about, when he did, Victoria said she will only say yes if he agrees to end his relationship with Robin...I didn't see that one coming at all. Buh Bye Victoria. Now, Carter Bays, now, please tell us who the Mom is already. I'm done wondering, I'm getting irritated, you added a kid, you almost added a dog...give us the Mom already...Pleaseeeeeeee

Ed is back this week with his Dancing With the Stars update:
Why is Emmy Award Winning host Tom Bergeron freakishly detached from the tragedy of Hurricane Sandy? I expected a more emotional connection, both this week and last. You’re not on the pulse of this one – very un-Tom like.
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum are brothers/Pros Maks and Val. If you watch the show, or spend a few minutes on Maks’ twitter feed (@MaksimC), you’ll see what I mean.
Professional dancer Tony skyped with his wife from the East Coast about the hurricane. This whole scene was set up for the cameras as part of his package, and as much as I like Tony, showing Melissa watching over his shoulder was a bit too forced for my liking. And honestly, why is his family in NY anyway? Your husband makes a living on the West Coast – go to him!
Gilles wanted viewers to know that all the stars are concerned for the victims of Hurricane Sandy – not just the ones whose package showed it. But I suspect his real concern is that the voting will skew towards those who show love to Hurricane Sandy victims.
He’s right. They may have had the worst scores of the night, but Kirstie and Maks got my first vote of the season after their package showed them spending the week selflessly collecting items from fans in LA to ship back to Hurricane victims in New York City. Meanwhile, Gilles was busy posing with a buddy of his for the cover of Muscle & Fitness Magazine.
On a lighter note… It was fun to watch professional dancer Mark fill in for injured Derek with his former partner and rumored ex-girlfriend Shawn. Apparently two cooks in the kitchen works, as Mark and Shawn landed a perfect 30. They lost ground after the swing dance marathon, ending the night with 38. Melissa and Tony topped them with 39.
My pick to go home is Apolo (33). He doesn’t have the charismatic connection with viewers that he had in his original season. I don’t think he’ll get the votes he needs to rise above his lower-third performance.
We’ll find out the results next week (due to Tuesday night election coverage), when we'll also see Tom Bergeron show more dismay for the eliminated star than he did for the victims of Hurricane Sandy over these two weeks.
Thanks Ed!
On Thursday, X Factor and The Voice are going head to head for the 2nd time this season and the gauntlet has been thrown down. On the X Factor, one of my favorite boy bands, One Direction (aka OneD) is performing BUT on The Voice Adam Levine and Maroon 5 will be performing. Who will win the ratings race that night? I'll watch both, but if you had to choose, who would you pick?
Live (With) Kelly & Michael finally aired their Halloween special which is always hilarious. They opened the show as the cast of The Voice. Kelly was Non-Drooptina (she has nothing that droops), Michael was CeeLo in a weird clown outfit that included a pink parrot, Gelman was Adam Levine and Art Moore was Blake. Really good costumes. Better than the many amazing costumes was the "Call Me Maybe" video, they put together. It's actually a bit disturbing and yet enjoyable all at the same time. I sort of think the producers were testing Strahan to see how far he'd go. He had a good time in every costume they threw at him. Check it out: http://dadt.com/live/video/video-archive.html
On Sunday's Ice Loves Coco, Coco was so annoyed that she couldn't walk her dogs in the rain while wearing her Loubatins that she decided to open a VIP club for dog owners so they could have a coffee, and hang out while providing their pets with a safe environment to exercise and meet up with their friends. It sounds ridiculous but the way Ice and Coco describe it, I'm betting when it finally opens, it's actually a big hit. Ice goes along with anything Coco wants anyway. "Hey Ice, can we build an igloo in Alaska?" "Sure honey". "Can we open up a VIP dog club?" "Sure honey". Nothing fazes that guy, I think he's forever hypnotized by Coco's upper assets and doesn't hear a word she says.
I was really surprised with the program CBS chose to run after this years Super Bowl. New episode of Survivor?...No. A very special episode of 2 1/2 Men?...No. Elementary. Yes, you're reading it right...Elementary. No, I swear, that's what they chose. I'm not sure why, I need to ask Julie Chen to ask Les Moonves to explain the strategy and get back to you on that one.
Today's Jimmy clip:
Tuesday's Trivia Question: Connect these two shows: Boy Meets World & The Wonder Years.
WWTM-Kristy
Melanie Martinez - has to have the worst voice on the Voice. I too, do not get the judges enthusiasm. I thought Amanda Brown's rendition of Dream on was FANTASTIC! I replayed it 3 times! I might even download it. HOMELAND has to be the best series on TV at the moment. The acting is superb.
