THE SHOWS
Survivor
I can't stand when people get angry at being outplayed. That's how everyone treated Kass when they got back from tribal. Morgan couldn't have been any more conceited and mean when describing her. What a b*tch. I hope she's happy when she sees herself on the show with her huge boobs bouncing all over the place. Apparently Outback Steakhouse opened a franchise on Survivor island and was giving away a free feast to the winners of the reward challenge. I wonder if I go to an Outback Steakhouse if there will be a secret clue in my napkin like the one Spencer got. So glad Woo knows his game and followed Spencer using his "Ninja Stealth Mode" and stole Spencer's clue. AWESOME game play. Each one of the alliances went on a mad tear to find the new immunity idol. After all the insanity, Spencer still found the idol RIGHT when as he was talking to Kass. Spencer didn't need to use it this week because he also won the immunity challenge. How crazy was it that Spencer started out furious with Kass for flipping but then went to her with a deal to re-flip and help him and his alliance?  Best quote of the night goes to Tony when describing the super lazy Morgan: "You can't tell if she's a pillow or a person." Hilarious and pretty accurate and it got her voted OUT! Yeah!

Flipping Out
Gramercy, the house Jeff and Gage were supposed to live in forever, was put on the market for 3.2 million bucks. It's a gorgeous house and Gage doesn't want to move and FINALLY he opened his mouth and told Jeff the truth. Gage is b*ll-less. He bugs me so much and I'm not alone, Zoila annihilates him on a regular basis and I love every minute of it. Jeff's clients, Jeanne and Tommy Shaw are leaving L.A. for Nashville and this week Jeff, Andrew and Jeanne were house hunting in Nashville together. Tommy is from the band Styx. Remember them? "Lights," "Best of Times," "Rockin the Paradise," ahhhh the 80's. We rarely see Tommy, but I'm guessing he's out there on tour as much as possible because Jeanne is out of her mind. If she talks to Tommy the way she talks to Jeff, I'm betting Tommy never comes home. Zoila's still wearing her B*tch bling, Andrew is still super inappropriate, and Jenny's still out on maternity leave. We need Jenny back asap. It's a human resources nightmare at Jeff Lewis Design.

The Americans
So I guess before Al Gore came up with the name "Internet" the Russians had already named it the "Arpanet." I think Internet's more catchy don't you? Must be…it stuck. 3 wigs this week and a lot of studying for the big lie detector test for Nina. She did well, and passed but  ended up naked in bed with Oleg the Russian dude not Beeman the FBI guy. I'm really not sure at all what the truth is at this point. Henry's sneaking into the neighbors house to play video games and Paige is sneaking out to go to a church youth group and Elizabeth and Phillip are sneaking out to kill people and steal secrets. Great family/bad wigs.

THE OTHER STUFF

-I'm actually pretty excited that Drake's hosting the ESPY's. He did a surprisingly awesome job hosting SNL. I'm betting he does a great job in this arena as well. ESPY's are on July 16th. Something to look forward to.

-I don't know what my record is for most episodes of a show watched in a row. Maybe the first season of 24? I think I watched like 12 one day and 12 the next. Not sure. I'm definitely a binger and I'm in to marathons but the FXX Simpsons event coming this Summer is nuts. The Simpsons is launching on the network with the longest continuous marathon EVER. 12 days, 552 episodes in a row. The marathon starts August 21st and will continue through Labor Day. Not a great way to spend the last days of Summer. I'll be on vacation in LBI, so that's not something I'll be doing, but I'm betting some crazy lunatic watches um all.

-I'm sure most of you don't know the name Charlotte Koh, but she WAS the head of original series development at Hulu. I'm sure she's a really nice person, but it wasn't much of a surprise to me when I read that she was "leaving her post" 2 days after Craig Erwich joined Hulu as head of content. Hulu's original content isn't that great. Definitely not as good as Amazon or Netflix. With SO many other competitors throwing their hats in the original content arena, you gotta be good. Hulu isn't. Maybe they will be now. Good Luck guys.

-I did work yesterday, I did, (ask my boss) but I also watched Rob Lowe on GMA, listened to Rob Lowe on Howard Stern (twice) watched Rob Lowe on Ellen and listened to 3 chapters of his new book "Love Life" and remember, I also watched him on Oprah the other day.  I'm not sick of him at all. I'm just obsessed. This happens to me from time to time. For any of you that want to see him in all his glory, check out Ellen's tribute: http://www.ellentv.com/videos/0-sq1ix4k2/

Sure Rob's awesome but that doesn't mean that I'm chucking Jimmy aside. It's two different types of obsessions really. Last night, the guy I want to share chips and salsa with, did a pretty cool duet with Stevie Nicks. Check it out: http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/segments/4176

THE SHOWS

Academy of Country Music Awards (Only the first Hour)
Blake and Luke were pretty controversial with their opening monologue. Same sex marriage, legalization of marijuana, Brittany Spears lack of live music in her Vegas show, Justin Bieber and more. Pretty surprising and pretty freaking funny if you ask me. The Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line performed and then, Brad Paisley played to a pool filled with way too many people, drinking way too much out of red solo cups which means that the pool had way too much pee in it by the end of Brad's new song. Blake Shelton sang his new song "My Eyes" with Gwen Sebastian who looked like Miranda before she lost the weight. Miranda and her cleavage were singing every word right along with her hubby. Brett Everidge looks just like Gerard Butler to me. Martina McBride introduced George Strait sang a new song also. Nobody knew the words, and the audience was pretty quiet while he performed. George  wore a guitar but didn't play it at all. Why wear it then? Lee Brice was up next with a pretty cool version of "I Drive Your Truck." Guy Fieri was in the house plugging his new Vegas restaurant sporting a camouflage suit. Eric Church was up next with "My Hometown." Still no awards given out 46 minutes in. Justin Moore was next with "Lettin the Night Roll." Still no awards…this is an award show right? After the commercial break, Shakira and Blake performed together. In the hour I watched the ACM's…not one award given out to anyone.

Game of Thrones
Jamie Lannister got a new haircut and new sword. He still only has one hand, but they built him a new one out of gold. That must be tough to fight with. A heavy gold hand and a heavy Valerian Steel sword.  How's he going to keep the King's safe now. His Dad wants him back   at Casterly Rock but he wants to stay close to his sister who's pissed at him for leaving her and losing his hand. The King's still a d*ck but we didn't expect him to change in a year did we? My have, Lord Tyrion is still Master of Coin and now it seems, he's also the welcome wagon. I also don't think he's been getting any. Shea's pissed off at him and Sansa's a wreck after hearing about the fate of her family. Prince Oberron showed up for the Royal wedding. He seems into some kinky stuff and he's pissed off at the Lannisters as well.  Man those dragons got big and they don't seem like they're totally controllable. Daenerys's army is massive now and she also has Liam from Nashville trying to impress her and get on her good side. Jon Snow's back at the wall recovering from his injuries and getting in trouble for his Wilding antics. Brienne's still around, Marjorie and her grandmother are involved in wedding plans and Aya's still with hound but she finally found her own horse. I think I actually understood most of Game of Thrones this time. I don't even think I have to watch it twice. Glad it's back, I've missed it.

Silicon Valley
Did you guys like Silicon Valley? I think I did. Lots of people from other things. Martin Star, the guy who grew the beard in Knocked Up, the guy from Big Love and a few others that I recognized from somewhere. Was that really Kid Rock at the beginning? They billed this show as a comedy, not sure I laughed much, but I think it's got potential. I did enjoy the very narrow car. What did you think?

The Americans
This show is getting confusing...the spy stuff is anyway. Actually I'm sort of confused by almost everything right now. Maybe it's all the wigs, I don't know. All of the Americans seem to be in trouble, all of the Russians seem to be in danger. A new Russian female spy killed her American boyfriend by putting something in the drugs he was doing and then when he died she kissed his vomitty mouth which totally grossed me out.  Elizabeth and Phillip had a really nice night together. She was even naked. It was a nice moment AND you got to see Felicity's back and butt.  The nice night was followed by a night so nice night and ruined everything when Elizabeth wanted to find out what Martha, Phillips's other wife, meant when she told Elizabeth that her brother was an "animal" in bed. Who tells someone that their brother is an animal in bed? I don't think she liked what happened next. I know I didn't. Clark was rough and borderline abusive. I didn't like seeing him like that and I definitely didn't like seeing her so upset and confused.

Hart of Dixie
As we know with this show, every week in Bluebell, there is some sort of party, event, parade etc. This week was no exception, some sort of party welcoming a bunch of French people to town, a man of the year thing that Brick was vying for but somehow lost to Joel who wasn't even there to accept the honor. Of course there has to be some sort of  wacky hijinks. This week it was George, Wade and Lemon trying to get Fancies back. They got it back, screwed it up and then lost it again. I really didn't care about any of those stories at all. The only part I cared about was the Joel/Zoey long distance relationship thing. Of course they couldn't make it work and shockingly, Joel and Zoey are done. The whole town came to Zoey's aid to help her through the break-up which was nice to see. The writers set it up where Joel COULD come back at either the wrong time or the right time, but hopefully he never comes back and Zoey ends up with George or Wade or Seth Cohen could show up in Bluebell and take Zoey to the O.C. At this point, I think I'd be happy with any of these options.

Vikings
As I predicted, the toughest woman on television, Lagertha, went back to her husband, got beaten for leaving him in the first place, and then when he was going to force her to take her top off for all the men of the village, she took a knife and stabbed him in the head and killed him. Next prediction, she will take over the village and lead her people back to Ragnar Lothbrook. He could use the help. A lot of other stuff happened, but who cares, Lagertha's the best. There should be a Vikings drinking game. Every time someone says RAGNAR LOTHBROOK…DRINK!

THE OTHER STUFF

Other than Mickey Rooney passing away last night at the age of 93 and Always Sunny in Philadelphia getting renewed for 2 more seasons, no other major new worth reporting. Slow weekend I guess.

Monday's Tough Trivia Question: Ratings are down this season, but Duck Dynasty is still a big show. I don't watch it, but maybe some of you guys do. What is the Duck Dynasty families last name? Points for as many of their first names also.

Survivor
WOW!!! What a great episode! If you haven't watched yet...do not read this! Major spoiler alert!  In the game of Survivor, everything changes on a dime. When the show started last night, everyone was emotional, tired, starving and melting down. I was thinking, when everyone was talking about how hungry they were...has anyone been fishing? I don't remember anyone fishing at all. Anyway, of course just as everyone was about to pass out or consider cannibalism, FOOD AUCTION!  This food auction was nuts! Hunger makes people do crazy things. Reynold got 1 slice of pizza but Sandra Bullock screamed out that she would take the other 7 slices for all of her money...500 bucks. Dawn spent her 500 on an entire roasted chicken. Malcolm spent 20 bucks for beer and pretzels and I have no idea how this guy gets so lucky, but the rest of his money bought him the exact directions to ANOTHER IMMUNITY IDOL. Andrea gave up her food for rice for the entire tribe. Cochran got a secret that he couldn't open til the immunity challenge. Brenda who was STARVING, spent all of her money on pig brains. I thought she'd have a nervous breakdown, but she didn't.  Letters from home were on the market for 20 bucks each but not everyone had 20 bucks to purchase their letters which made the tears start to flow. Before the auction ended, everyone was able to share as much peanut butter as they could eat or shmeer all over themselves in 60 seconds. Every one's mental state really did change after the auction. Food and love from home is all it took. I gotta give Andrea an award for stalking Malcolm since she assumed he had a clue to the location of the immunity idol. She followed him to where he thought it was and stared and waited and her strategy worked. He didn't find it. The guy found two without any clues. This one he had directions and paid 480 bucks and got NOTHING! At the immunity challenge, Cochran was given a 2 knot advantage over his tribe mates who all had to hold a rope until they couldn't hold it anymore. Dawn seemed to be screaming "motherf*cker" but I think they may have edited out the f part. Reynold started using profanity which must have been pretty bad since they blurred out his lips.  What could be worse than "motherf*ckr"? Malcolm was out pretty early and at the end it was Cochran against Eddie and Cochran won immunity. There was so much strategizing and again, I had no idea how the votes would go down. I don't remember the last time there was a 3 way tie but it was BRILLIANT strategizing. Malcolm, one of Malcolm's three Amigos and Andrea.  Made perfect sense! AND...when it was a tie and everyone knew that Malcolm didn't have the idol...BUH BYE Malcolm.  Great player, cute guy but great move guys.  I really need Cochran to win this thing. Love this freaking show...I was saying on Facebook last night that I remember working with my buyers on an estimate for Survivor before it ever aired. I knew it was going to be big... I knew it and it's still big and it's still great and I love every minute of it!

The Americans
I was wondering how bad the wigs could get on this show and this episode delivered the answer. Phillip really needed to get a bug into John Boy Walton's office so the only way to convince Martha, his fake girlfriend, to do it...ask her to marry him! Of course she said yes even though she is sworn to secrecy, can only tell her parents and they can never live together. what an idiot.   I mean this woman is either crazy in love with this guy with bad hair, or just desperate to be married.  Well, he married her! I couldn't believe it! In order to make things look good, Felicity and Granny donned the worst wigs I've ever seen and looked like they came from a farm in Iowa. They pretended to be Phillips Mom and sister. I felt bad for Felicity having to watch the wedding knowing she does actually feel something for Phillip but hey...you snooze, you lose and she should tell the guy how she feels. Another big shocker, Nina took an oath to protect the secrets of the Soviet Party and got a lapel pin for her troubles. The whole thing made her feel so guilty, especially after she realized that Stan did kill Vlad, so what did she do? Turned herself in! Another person turning herself in was Haila from Weeds, the maid for the FBI guy. Remember, she put a clock with a bug in it in her boss's home study! She went to church and took her oath to god, which of course made her feel guilty too, so she turned herself in.  Lots of oaths, lots of guilt this week. Last but not least, the feds are getting close to something...they have figured out that it is a man and a woman they are looking for and while the sketches look nothing like Phillip and Felicity, it looks like in next weeks season finale, they do figure something big out. Not sure what that means since the show did get renewed already, but I'm sure it won't disappoint. Good show, good season!

NEWS & INFORMATION

-I'm sure you've already read about the NBC trivia quiz/reality show coming this Fall. Knowing how much my readers LOVE trivia, I'm guessing you'll all be watching The Million Second Quiz.. This one sounds like it may have some promise for the network. Basically, it will be a live event type show that lasts for 12 consecutive days and nights. The contestants will be competing against each other and living together in some hourglass building in NYC. Sounds interesting but ya never know. It could be big or with NBC's luck it could be a bust. Fingers crossed that it's big. I wish I could compete...the prize is 10 million dollars!

-In this weeks Advertising Age magazine (yes...hard copy, old school magazine) there is a pretty fun poster of facts.  I love this stuff here's some of it:

  • 1.08 million US pay TV subscribers canceled service in favor of online options last year. That's a big number no?
  • Of the 5MM Zero-TV households. 75% have at least one TV set but 67% get content on other devices
  • Of the 67% that get content on other devices: 37% get content via computer, 8% via smartphone, 6% via tablet , 16% have Internet enabled TV. 48% watch TV content through a subscription service
  • In February 2013, Google/YouTube had 150.7 million viewers who spent an average of 362.1 minutes with site and viewed 11.3 billion videos
  • Top Online Video Sites by Time Per Viewer: Netflix (11:02), Hulu (4:19), YouTube (4:02) GorillaVId (3:52), Ustream (2:06) and Crackle (1:52)
  • Top Video-Type Choices: US Online adults said they watch video this way at least once a month: recorded on a DVR-37%, Free VOD-24%, Netflix-22%, VIdeo streamed from a TV Networks website-17%, Full Length video streamed on YouTube-15%, VOD that you PAY to watch-13%, Video streamed from other websites-12%, Hulu Plus-7%, Amazon Instant Video-6%, Itunes-3%  (For the record...I've done all but VOD THIS MONTH!!!)
  • Top 5 NON TV RELATED things a tablet owner is doing WHILE watching TV: Checked Email, visited unrelated websites, played video games, downloaded or used an app, & Read a digital Magazine or book
  • Top 5 TV RELATED things a tablet owner is doing WHILE watching TV: Posted comments about a show they were watching, visited a networks show website, looked for more info about the show, watched a video related to the show & voted in a contest related to the show
-For anyone that read through my "Why I Don't Watch Mad Men" post, you'll know that I'm really not a big Jon Hamm fan. Nothings really changed for me even after having seen THE PHOTO (If you don't know what I'm talking about let me know, I'll send it).  So, I wasn't thrilled to hear that he will be hosting the ESPY's.  I know that Jimmy's not in the Disney family, but don't cha think that my FBFF/FTSH would be the PERFECT host? Just sayin...

-Do any of you guys ever watch Ali Wentworth's Daily Shot on Yahoo? It's really skewed more for woman than men and while she calls it the earliest late night talk show, I sort of feel like that's a bit misleading. I would absolutely put this show into the daytime talk category. The show has evolved over time into the current format which I'm enjoying, but I think I would enjoy just hanging out with Ali regardless of what she was doing, who she was talking to and what the topic was. She just seems like a friend.  Anyway, I tend to consume 3-4 of her 3-4 minute shows at a time. Last night I watched Beth Stern promote her new show, a chick who wrote a book about not wanting to ever have kids and a show about using your maiden or married name.  It's a fun way to spend 10 minutes and like I said...I could pretty much watch Ali do anything!  For anyone who hasn't checked it out, here's the link: http://screen.yahoo.com/beth-stern-spoiled-rotten-pets-230000378.html

-More on Aereo my new obsession:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/how-talent-loses-aereo-wins-445834

-I read that now, Amazon is getting into the set top box game as well. How many boxes do people actually want at this point? I have my cable box, my TiVO and my TiVO stream, but there's also Apple TV, Roku, Slingbox, I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch. Do we need or want all these boxes at this point? Can't one awesome smart TV do the trick or something? Too confusing, too annoying and what about the space all these boxes take up? Enough boxes already.

THE AMERICANS
Okay so I finally got a couple of 80's pop culture references in this weeks show.  Leg Warmers!!! OMG I used to love my leg warmers and so does Paige, Elizabeth and Phillip's daughter. They also had the 70's circle telephone, that my friend Amanda had. Those were the easiest part of the show to explain.  There's so much going on and honestly, some of it I'm not positive I understand but the other 90% is so good that it negates the 10% I'm too stupid to get.  I am very sure about one thing though...the hair in this show is just terrible.  Whoever 's in charge needs to fire the hairstylist immediately. Okay, lets see if I can try to make sense of what went on this week.   Phillip was headed to NYC for a travel seminar and a mission with his ex love, Ann/Irina. (Pretty convenient right?)  Irina needed to drug and then frame a major Polish communist leader with Phillips help.  After the mission, Ann/Irina showed Phillip a photo of the son he didn't know he had. But I'm not positive he's real. Phillip asked her, but the answer was very vague.  So I'm genuinely confused. Phillip beat and then slept with Ann/Irina which freaked me out, but then put her on a train and went home to Elizabeth who's had a change of heart and finally wants to try a real relationship with Phil.  When she asked him if he slept with Ann/Irina he denied it and said that she was the only one for him.  Awwwww so sweet...but he was lying!  While Phil was away, Elizabeth went and hung out with Stan's miserable wife.  Stan was "working" but ended up in bed with Nina his source who was pretty naked for FX even at 10pm.  Elizabeth had work to do too and of course it required her to wear a god awful wig and threaten a guys balls.

SURVIVOR
HOLY COW! What a crazy episode this week. Right from the beginning, Brandon Hantz, was missing his wife and kids and volunteering to get voted out.  Then I thought he had gotten it together.  He was really trying hard in the reward challenge and the Fave's won...all good right?  NOPE! Brandon slowly unravelled from there.  He went to talk to Phillip and told him everyone in the tribe doesn't like him or his stupid "Stealth R Us" alliance and then he just lost it and poured the entire tub of rice all over the ground, screamed his head off and called Phillip a b*tch.  Uncle Russell's gotta be furious right now.  No way he's proud of the game play or the behavior.  With all of Russell's insanity, his tribe never forfeited a challenge to get rid of him (or anyone else for that matter).  Not only did the Favorites forfeit the challenge, they never left and voted Brandon out verbally, out loud, right in front of the Fans.  No schlep through the woods, no fire, no torches, nada.  Just Jeff, oddly rubbing Brandon's shoulders to calm his ass down and then providing him with directions on how to leave the game since this had never happened before. I have to give props to Jeff Probst, he handled the entire situation like a pro. Does he have a psychology degree or something?  It was WILD! The kid needs some meds and a LOT of them!   While Brandon's breakdown was  the big story of the night, there were some other things that went down.  1)Reynold found his second immunity idol, lucky guy.  I thought he would have learned his lesson and kept this news to himself, but nooooo he just HAD to share and tell Eddie. When will people learn? When??  2) It rained crazy rain for 48 hours and SpikeBeard Matt's feet were nasty from being waterlogged.  Ewwww if the SpikeBeard didn't gross me out, his nasty feet sure did.  3) I'm still consumed with Blond Sandra Bullock, Sheri and her makeup situation. 4) What was with those monkey's picking each other's eye goo?  How did the cameraman get that shot?

LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON aka MY FUTURE BEST FRIENDS SHOW
All week long, Justin Timberlake has been a guest on Late Night.  Justin's been amazing as we'd expect, and I was going to do a recap of the best moments of the week as a Saturday special report, but this one is just too good and I couldn't wait.  Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeCD4bIkQwg

NEWS & INFORMATION

-Pretty sure that the nail is in the coffin for NBC's Smash.  I didn't see Tuesday night's episode as my cold medicine had kicked in by then, but given the news that the show is moving to Saturday nights for the remaining 17 episodes, pretty much seals its fate.  I don't know what to do now.  Should I just finish it out or bag it? I guess it will depend on if I have a life or not.  I mean if I'm home on Saturday night doing nothing...I could watch.  Gotta admit, it's been a struggle to stay interested though.

-My favorite little people are back next week for a big special.  Little People, Big World: Conquering Mount St. Helens will air on March 19th on TLC. Supposedly Amy and Matt are so bored without their kids that Amy comes up with the idea to climb Mount St. Helens.  I have no idea if Matt and Zach go with her, if she makes it or what, but I'm definitely going to tune in and check it out.  I guess the wedding business isn't going that well and they needed something to do that TLC would film?  If they film it...I will watch.

-No idea at all what the settlement was, but Current TV and Keith Olberman did settle out of court via mediation.  If you recall, Olberman sued Current for breach of contract after he was fired last year.  Current's payin him something and obviously he's keeping his mouth shut...for now.

-Before I dumped my Netflix subscription, I was actually a heavy user and a big fan.  One of the features I loved was the ability to share playlists and recommendations with friends.  Then one day, the feature was gone.  No explanation at all.  Today I learned that it disappeared because of a law called the Video Protection Privacy Act  (VPPA). This law prohibits sharing someones video rental history without their approval or a police warrant.  Facebook and Netflix are SOOO powerful, that they somehow got Congress to pass a bill updating the VPPA to accommodate Facebook integration.  Can you believe that??? Soooo now you'll be able to share your Netflix playlists and recommendations with your Facebook friends.  Man Netflix is making it hard for me to stay mad at them.

-I'm happy to see CBS finally loosening up a bit.  They are releasing past seasons of The Good Wife online. Hard to believe that they haven't given access to a show that is still airing until now.  The first 3 seasons will be available on Amazon Prime starting today and on Hulu Plus starting in September.  In January, past eps will also run on The Hallmark Channel and then on local TV stations in September of 2014.

-Have you guys heard of Kickstarter? I hadn't until last night.  Kickstarter is a crowdfunding website where the public can fund projects via donations in return for various perks or benefits.  Apparently the public really wants a Veronica Mars movie because it contributed $2 Million dollars in record time.  Veronica Mars went off the air 5 years ago.  (I never saw an episode...look like I have a new binge viewing show to catch up on).  Warner Bros. promised that if the Kickstarter campaign raised enough money to film the low budget movie that they would finance the movie's marketing and distribution costs.  Looks like they need to get out the checkbook!  Again...the model is changing.  Social is having more and more of an impact on content.

-Soapnet will be celebrating General Hospital's 50th anniversary beginning Friday 3/29 at 10pm with a 50 hour marathon of classic episodes.  What's pretty cool is that the marathon kicks off with the very first episode ever from 1963 and will include shows from every decade.  Then of course there will be a "very special 50th anniversary episode on Monday 4/1 from 2-3p

I had a bunch of paperwork to do last night and was only able to watch Glee and The Americans in between the Knicks/Thunder game.

I gotta be honest, Glee's 500th song/tribute to the movies episode stunk. Who was in charge of picking the songs? Whoever it was really missed the mark in my opinion. With all of the great songs from movies, these are the ones they chose? Do they know who their audience is?  I'd always heard of Fred Astaire's dancing on the ceiling, but I had no idea what movie it was from and had to Google that one. (Royal Wedding for anyone who cares).  "Shout" from Animal House...okay. Moulin Rouge? I guess.  The Tom Cruise tribute wasn't that bad, "Danger Zone/Old Time Rock-N-Roll" had half the guys in flight suits and the other half in white button downs and  tidy whitey's... okay that one was decent.  Hated the entire "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend/Material Girl" mashup and really hated the attempt at "Unchained Melody" in the ceramics room that nobody's EVER entered before.  The only good part was when Mr. Shu tracked down Emma and pulled a Lloyd Dobler,  with an old boom box and used the "In Your Eyes"/Say Anything bit to win her back. Other than the songs, Rachel's still preggers, Blaine's still pining for Kurt, Mr Shu and Emma are starting all over again, Marlie told Jake about the kiss, and Finn followed suit. Santana found Brody's pager and his wad of cash and came to the conclusion that he's a drug dealer.  All of this didn't thrill me at all and then when my son asked me what a pager was, I was done.  Last week it was "who is Prince?" tonight..."what's a pager?" shoot me.

The Americans was really good this week. Still not so much 80's stuff, but the spy stuff was pretty intense. There's a mole on the Russian side, which we knew about , but everyone became a suspect. Right off the bat Phillip got kidnapped and I thought the jig was up.  They knew everything about him, took off his glasses and his horrible, cheap wig and beat the crap out of him. (but he had no bruises or cuts to the face which was weird)  He gave up nothing. Then they brought in Felicity and still nothing. Just as I thought their FBI/Neighbor guy was going to walk in, it turned out to be their own people testing them.  Well that didn't sit well with Felicity she beat the crap out of the old lady (mainly her face so maybe the makeup budget was used up on her???) and they got the F outta there.  In the mean time their kids were left stranded at the mall and attempted to hitch hike home (which was more of a 60's/70's thing than an 80's thing, but I digress) and of course the guy they chose to go with was a freak.  I guess they don't have their parents spy like instincts.  The FBI guy, via his mole, set up the Russian guy and he was put on a plane and sent back to Siberia or wherever they send traitors.  I'm still in on this one.  It's not all there but I'm still in.  I want Felicity to stick around. I've missed her.

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-After 16 years, Joy Behar is leaving The View.  16 years sitting around with those yenta's, is an incredible accomplishment. I can't believe she lasted that long. Joy and Barbara are the only two original members still on the show.  I hope she's planning on a tell all book and comes back on the show to discuss it.  I bet that would be interesting.

-In case you hadn't heard, there are a bunch of changes to the Facebook newsfeed coming our way soon.  I have always hated most of the Facebook changes when they first hit and then I just get used to them and forget what the old Facebook was like.  None of the changes have hit my page yet, but if you want to learn about them, this link will tell you everything you need to know.  https://www.facebook.com/about/newsfeed

WWTM Last Night

ABC really needs to add some PR staff to support my Suburgatory mission. I can't do it alone. This show is so under the radar and so underrated. The word really needs to get out there.  Modern Family Shmodern Family. Suburgatory's better.  Sure it was given the great time slot, but still.  You rarely see anyone from the show anywhere. No Kelly & Michael, no Fallon or Kimmel, come on guys.  People really need to watch this one and keep it on the air.  This weeks episode was too funny.  Noah (who looks just like Joey from Full House) was having a bit of a mid life crisis and thought he was in love with Carmen the housekeeper.  Of course Noah's still married to the super horrible, Jill who wears way too much eyeshadow. Jill wrote a book for babies who can't read books. "You're Out Now What?" Classic.  Tessa bailed on Dallas to go intern for Jill but realized the huge mistake she made after she was given the assignment of writing an opus about Jill's book from Opus's point of view...Jill's son who can't speak or read. In order to help Noah forget about Carmen, George took him sap tapping, yes...sap tapping which is why he had a huge bucket of maple syrup at the dinner table.  I know this all sounds like too much but if the tap sapping didn't get you going, Dahlia's dry crying should have thrown you over the edge.  Again, Dahlia is the shows secret weapon and nobody knows who she is.  So let's review.  Opus from Opus, Tap Sapping and Dry Crying...set your Tivo's people.  I'm not kidding.

Survivor rules.  It just does.  I mean you really can't make this stuff up.  A giant marine who served not one, but two tours of duty in Iraq couldn't handle a few weeks on a deserted island with a bunch of people.  Shamar laid around camp and whined all day and made people serve him rice until boooo hooooo he hurt his eye and had to leave the game. I have to admit, I thought he was faking it.  I even thought that maybe he injured himself on purpose, just to get out of the game.  All I know is he's gone and I couldn't be happier.  Well maybe if he took the completely delusional whacko, Phillip, and his ridiculous Stealth R Us alliance (that's made up of everyone in the tribe) lunacy with him. For comic relief, all you needed to do was take one look at Cochran's sunburn lines and you're good to go. The only thing funnier than Cochran's sun sleeves,  was the arrival of Ta-Ta, a local "bushman" to the Favorites camp. (Yeah, I laughed like an 11 year old when Jeff said the word bushman...I won't deny that) Ta-Ta wore a very small piece of red cloth that barely covered his ta-ta's.  There were a few wardrobe malfunctions, but Ta-Ta just kept building and cooking.  In addition to the reward challenge, the Faves also won the immunity challenge...again. Reynold (No S) and Eddie pled their case, a strong one actually, and while Reynold did play his Idol, it didn't matter, it was Laura, the weakest tribe member, who was sent home.  One thing I need to know...is Sheri wearing eye make-up? It really does look like it doesn't it?

Yesterday over on Yahoo,  Ali Wentworth's mini show, The Daily Shot, she had on the (unverified) number one Tupperware sales person in North America.  Aunt Barbara is a drag queen who is SO busy that if you want him/her to throw a party for you there is a 6 month wait. I have to say, I haven't been to a Tupperware party in a REALLY long time, but the cheese grater thing he/she recommended kept me up all night. Check out the video and let me know if you feel the same need to order it. http://screen.yahoo.com/tupperware-top-salesperson-life-drag-000000604.html

News & Information

-Joey Lawrence and Charissa Thompson will be hosts for ABC's diving show, Splash. I hope that Joey decides to wear nothing but swim trunks in solidarity for the divers and to keep this blogger happy.  I didn't know who Charissa Thompson was, I needed to ask my 11 year old since he's and ESPN addict.

- After 10 seasons of telling people What Not To Wear, TLC has cancelled the show.  I guess now everyone will start wearing things they shouldn't.  I've never seen an episode of this one and if you've ever met me, you'd know it.  LOL.

-More NBC Late night rumors that I love hearing.  If you recall, the first rumor was that Jay's gonna leave and my FBFF, Jimmy Fallon is going to take his place.  Now the newest rumor is that Howard Stern is going to take Jimmy's place. I love this idea and to be honest, it does make sense if you think about it. Howard did AGT and proved to the world that he's not a crazed pervert and if you are a devoted listener like I am, you'd  know that Howard really doesn't want to renew his Sirius contract especially with the pending lawsuit he's currently dealing with.  Why is it that Howard's ALWAYS on vacation when these type of things happen? Inquiring minds need to know what's really going on.
-Time Warner and the Time Inc. magazine publishing division breaking up. Time Warner will focus on TV, film and the production biz and Time Inc. will go off on it's own.  The goal is for this to happyn by the end of the year.  Magazines just continue to get pummelled every which way.  I feel bad for Time even though I'm not a big reader of it. It's just sort of sad what's happening though.
