Not all of um can be hilarious. Didn't like Leslie and Ben being annoying jerks, but they sort of were last night. Didn't like Chris and Ann Perkins waffling at the jewelry store. All I really liked was all Ron Swanson scenes especially ones with bacon in them, because everything's better with bacon. Amy's been busy prepping for the Globes, so I'll give her a pass.

Parenthood
I knew when Camille came back from Paris, it wasn't going to be good. Forget the bangs and new hairstyle, that alone is upsetting, but the worlds opened up for her and she wants to keep flying...and while we want her to, and totally understand her feelings, we also feel for Zeek who really tried, the best way he knew how, to show his wife how much he missed her, how much he needed her, and that he could eat Italian food, it's not enough. She's planning on leaving again in 3 months and her plans don't seem to include him. I'm assuming the writers are letting this phase of their relationship sort of develop. We can't have 2 separations in this family at the same time, we just can't, and Joel's officially declared he's leaving. I'm still sort of on his side here. Julia's not helping herself in any way at all. How did she fall so fast from super tough corporate attorney to whining, insecure, wimp? Amber's also having a hard time with Ryan's departure, but she hit the road, hit the bottle (or should I say flask-isn't it weird how you only see flasks in TV shows and movies? I mean have you been out with ANYONE and they breakout their flask?)  and hit her Dad up for some pancakes. Seth seems ready to be there for her this time, let's hope he comes through or it'll destroy her. Hank met with the doctor to see if he does in fact have Asbergers and the doctor couldn't say he did but couldn't say he didn't "Jump Ball" I believe is how he phrased it. Hank...you have it. I know you do, you know you do, and even that doctor knows you do. Drew needs a haircut, but other than that, he went from this awkward virgin to this sort of studly college guy bangin 2 chicks. Ahhh college. Kick Amy out Drew and get back to partying.

Critics Choice Movie Awards
I love award shows, you know I do, but I think I needed a bit more time between the Golden Globes and this one and then I have the Screen Actors Guild Awards coming up Saturday. I'm not ready for them yet. Can you believe I feel this way?
Aisha Tyler was the host of the show and I wasn't sure if she was doing well or not with her opening monologue. Some jokes killed and some jokes bombed and I wasn't sure if the audience liked her or not. She also would sit at the celebs table trying to be funny one on one with them, but it gave me doosh chills. Weird, I don't feel like this show is bullet pointy...I'm going free flow...hope it works out. Let me know

Best Actress in a Comedy-Amy Adams for another non-funny movie, American Hustle. Do the critics know what comedy is?

Best Actor in an Action Movie-Mark Wahlberg for Lone Survivor. Isn't Mark Wahlberg odd? He tries so hard to be eloquent, say the right things, etc. and yet he still comes off like a stuck up ahole sort of.

Best Actress in an Action Movie-Sandra Bullock for Gravity -Witty speech, a tech error, and still, she came off classy and adorable.
Best Acting Ensemble-The cast of American Hustle, I'm fine with that.
Ian Somerhalder and Isaiah Washington presented Best Foreign Language Film, Ian was hot and Isaiah was annoying. He was over enunciating foreign words. I wanted to smack him. Maybe I'm still mad about his Grey's Anatomy stuff.

Oprah Winfrey presented Forest Whitaker with the Joel Siegel Humanitarian award. Forest was way too serious for me and seems to almost whisper when he speaks and he always looks like he's about to get hit by a car.
Everyone seemed upset that Tom Hanks was snubbed by the Oscar people, but aren't a lot of the people in the room the Oscar people who voted?
Best Animated Feature-Frozen
Best Young Actor or Actress-Adele Exarchopoulos for  Blue is the Warmest Color in a very interesting outfit. I think it was a hot pants/dress combo sort of thing.

Best Supporting Actor- Jared Leto I'm such a huge fan of his and they played "City of Angels" as he walked up to accept his award. Scarlett Johansson's voice was nominated for an award, which sort of pissed me off

They shot the movie in 35 days and used 1 camera (and Brad Pitt). Not my choice, but I get it.

When I checked to see who Jerry's guest was this week, I was sort of bummed that it was Jay Leno. I'm not a fan of Jay's at all. I don't watch or DVR his show, ever. I think it's because Howard Stern brainwashed me to hate him. I was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed this episode of CiCGC as much as I did. Jay was interesting, funny, and sort of charming really. He and Jerry have been friends for 35 years and you could see their connection. It was like we were peeking into a window while these 2 old friends were hanging out. I also learned something I never knew before. Jerry's first gig was on the show "Benson".  Jay mentioned his characters name. 5 points if you caught it.  I also learned that Jay and I actually have an interesting thing in common. We both have never had a cup of coffee.  So, Jerry, I'm open to having my first cup ever...with you and your crazy sneakers in a 1977 Honda Civic which was my first car ever. 

NEWS & INFORMATION:

Lots of Gilligan's Island news in the past 24 hours. First, we learned that Maryanne was the woman to break the short shorts barrier, thenTV Land announced that Gilligan's Island will be back on the network after a 10 year absence and then, the sad news that Russell Johnson, aka The Professor, passed away yesterday at the age of 89. RIP Professor. 

Another sad 70's sitcom death, Dave Madden, aka Ruben Kinkaid, The Partridge Family's manager, passed away yesterday. He was 82. RIP Ruben! 

It's driving me absolutely INSANE that I can't see Joseph Gordon Levitt's show HitRecord because my lovely cable company, Cablevision, doesn't carry the network. I can't watch online, I can't watch on TV, WTF. First time in a LONG time that there's something out there I really want to watch and have zero access to it. DAMN YOU CABLEVISION!

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

Chris Pratt's my new favorite guy. He's hilarious and I have a feeling that he's just as funny in real life as he his on TV. Chris's character Andy was back from Europe but struggling with jet lag big time which meant mowing the lawn at 2am, peeing in the middle of a meeting and falling asleep everywhere. It was Leslie's last day in office. For 1/2 the show she thought about re-running for Councilman Dexhart's seat since he's on his 10th sex scandal, but ultimately she decided not to run.  Eating waffles at JJ's, and making out with Ben on the couch were her short term plans. I guess we'll have to wait and see what's next for Knope.  Arthur Fonzarelli alert...Arthur Fonzarelli alert. Put your thumbs in the air and scream Aayyyyyy. Ann Perkins and Chris Trager asked the Fonz to tell them the sex of their baby.  Rob, looked like he needed a hair cut, but he must be using some good product in that hair of his because it stayed up perfectly even though it was WAY too long. (They're having a boy BTW.) Tom wanted to take his Rent-A-Swag dough and invest in other ideas, so he held a pseudo Shark Tank contest and found a whole lot of nothing to invest in. So everyone is sort of in limbo...until next week I'm sure.

Parenthood

Does anyone listen when someone says "I don't want to talk about it?" Not just in the Braverman family...anyone? Last night, Max and Amber both said they didn't want to talk about what was bothering them but Zeek and Adam refused to accept their wishes. This made me think about when I say "I don't want to talk about it"-rare but it does come out of my mouth once in a while. When someone says it to me, I push until they talk. So net/net, does "I don't want to talk about it" really mean I NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT? I think so. Just a thought.  

Another thought...did Ryan trade in Amber's ring for that big brand new shiny truck? For some reason I didn't think you could bring your big shiny brand new truck to the Army. Dumb thought, I know. I assumed that everyone that shows up at their Fort of choice comes in on a bus. See what happens when you watch so much TV? Not many scenes take place in the Army's parking lot right? Back to the tough stuff for Parenthood. Max having no friends, Joel and Julia's relationship and Amber saying goodbye to Ryan. Of course we got a little relief this week. Hank and Sarah interviewing for the same job and Oliver moving in with Crosby and Jasmine. It can't all be heavy and draining. Even when it is though we're moved. Each and every episode has one (or 10) of those moments. For me this week the moment that got me was when Zeek went to Amber's apartment. Made me miss my Grandpa who was a pretty cool guy like Zeek.

-The Directors Guild of America announced it's award nominees yesterday. 
For TV here are the biggies:
Drama: Breaking Bad (Bryan Cranston), House of Cards, Breaking Bad (Vince Gilligan), Homeland & Game of Thrones. 
Comedy: Big Bang Theory, Modern Family(Bryan Cranston), Modern Family, 30 Rock & Big Bang Theory
Congrats to Bryan Cranston. I wonder how many times an actor gets nominated for directing in his own show and another in a different category.

-Good news, bad news Boardwalk Empire fans. Good news- the show has been renewed for a 5th season. Bad news, it's the final season. You know my deal with this one. I tried to get into it REALLY TRIED and I couldn't. I should probably try again, but I gotta be honest, highly unlikely I will. No real eye candy...shallow of me...yes.

-I was watching my FBFF's show last night and saw an ad for the new season of the must see/must hate show, Girls. I wasn't paying attention and thought it said "special 2 HOUR premiere."  I totally freaked out because I hate watching Girls, and there's no way I could watch that mess for 2 hours. I rewound and breathed a HUGE sigh of relief.  It's not 2 HOURS, it's 2 PARTS...whewwwww thank god! More good/bad news. Girls is already renewed for a 4th season and it's 3rd season hasn't even started yet. Shoot me. 

-Okay see if you get this. IFC used to stand for Independent Film Channel. Now they've change their name to IFC but it stands for nothing at all BUT they still will air independent films on the channel.  I wonder how many man hours and dollars were spent to come to that conclusion. Good news though, I don't have to change anything in my DVR at all. 

-New year, more new names. If my husband is reading this though, he will care. His beloved Military Channel is being renamed the American Heroes Channel. Doesn't necessarily fly off the tongue though does it? I'm betting that it becomes AHC and in like 3-4 years I'm telling you that the American Heroes Channel has been renamed AHC. Keep this one, refer to it in 2016. You heard it here first. 

-I didn't last all 6 minutes, but I did watch Winnie Cooper's math thing for almost 5 minutes. She does make math fun. Crust =Pie Dough...got it! Scandal
Wow, a lot has changed for Olivia Pope in the past 5 years huh? The Sunday dinner's with Dad, the bangs, the black wardrobe, she was dating Senator Ed, Huck was still in the subway in need of some scissors, and she didn't even have her college loans paid up. Then she found out her Dad wasn't into dinosaurs and Wonderland wasn't where Alice was but a place to train assassins and she changed the hair, changed the clothes, got rid of the bangs and got engaged to the Senator. Back then, David Rosen had a beard and was also in need of a new do. Well, in 2013, Olivia's college loans are paid in full, she prefers white coats to black ones and Presidents instead of Senators. Don't you just love Scandal? LOVE. I live for the Fitz/Olivia moments, Cyrus Beane tirades and any scene where you are reminded that Mellie is brilliant and then you hate her even more. This Janine Locke ruse is too good and so is any scene with The Tramps "Disco Inferno" in it...Burn baby Burn.

Parenthood
It's the little moments in life that we all don't always see happening to ourselves we see  happening to the Braverman family. Adam and Kristina in the kitchen, Crosby and his new daughter bonding over a bottle, Sarah and Hank looking at photos. You can almost hear them saying "remember when...".  Remember when Amber and what's his name threatened my college roommate?  Remember when we sat on that bench and decided what to do with the house? Remember when Victor couldn't even read...and now he's graduating from Berkley? That's why Parenthood's so special. They remind us all of our own little moments and the ones yet to come. Damn I love this show so much.

Glee

Last night's episode of Glee, a tribute to Finn/Cory, was SO well done that it had me in tears for most of the hour. What I loved about it was that it wasn't about how or why Finn died, but how he lived and how he touched all of his family and friends. The cast grieved together, and celebrated his life together the way they do everything else...they sang.  The tears started the second I heard "Seasons of Love" from Rent and didn't stop until the credits rolled. As always, Curt's dad had all the right words and the others dealt with their grief in different ways. Denial, anger, sadness, laughter etc. Some seemed to be suffering more than others. The mohawkless Puck and super skinny, super sexy Santana really resorted to violence. Rachel didn't appear at all for the first 45 minutes of the episode but then she sang "To Make You Feel My Love" and lost it, as did everyone else. "l'll Stand By You", "Fire & Rain", and even Bruce Springsteen's "No Surrender" conveyed the heartbreak and the feelings everyone needed to get out of themselves. Congrats to Ryan Murphy and everyone at Glee for a perfect tribute. 

Parks & Recreation
With the merger of Pawnee and Eagleton, there was going to be some redundancy issues right? Leslie paired up all of the Pawnee guys with their counterparts from Eagleton. It sort of reminded me of Seinfeld's bizarro episode. There was "New Ann Perkins" whose name was Evelyn. She didn't do much talking but she sure looked like Ann Perkins. Then there was "Cool Ron" played by the guy from Mask, Sam Elliot, who's aging pretty nicely. He's got a gorgeous head of hair and a deep sexy voice. His name may have been Ron, but that was their only similarities. "Cool Ron" was a vegan, wore open toed sandals (not cool in my book ever) was a vegan, and into yoga. Ron hated "Cool Ron".  The good news..."Cool Ron" got the boot. April's counterpart was Tynnafer ( I spelled it right...that's her name)  an annoying non jewish jap who took her meds at xanax-o'clock.  April pretended to be JUST like her and convinced her not to take the job and to leave Pawnee and head to Florida. Craig was Retta's Eagletonian counterpart. He was mega annoying but I could see him sticking around. The verdicts still out on him at this point. Ann decided to break the news to Leslie about leaving Pawnee with Chris and her oven bun. Leslie didn't take it well and had a bit of a breakdown. Of course it was the one and only original Ron who set her straight.  Not sure what will happen with Tom and Rageet, but one of um's got to go and since I haven't read that Aziz Ansari got a good gig elsewhere, I'm guessing his job doing nothing is safe at this point.

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-The Kanye/Kimmel thing was of course ratings gold delivering Jimmy's best ratings ever that didn't include an NBA final lead in. 1.2RA1849. 

-In NYC, the Giant game pre-empted The Vampire Diaries...that didn't make me happy, BUT I'm going to attempt to use my Google Chromcast thing to watch it tonight on my big screen...wish me luck.

-S.H.I.E.L.D. got the go ahead for a full season. No surprise there at all. Ratings and viewers have been declining since the premiere, but the show is still doing relatively well comparatively speaking. 

-Next week on Law & Order SVU,  Detective Munch will announce his retirement.  No big sendoff or anything, he's just retiring. 

-Shark Tank just got the order for 2 more episodes...that's weird to me...2??? That's all ABC needs? 2 eps?  

-Cool Sleepy Hollow info: The Sleepy Hollow premiere hit 25 million views with DVR, VOD and streaming.

Glee
It was Steve Wonder-ful week on Glee and honestly...every single performance was awesome. I always forget how much I love Stevie Wonder. Kitty performed "Signed, Sealed, Delivered", Mercedes, back in town to film a music video and to help the Glee club win regionals, lead the gang's rendition of "Superstitious".  Kurt sang "You Are The Sunshine of my Life" to his Dad after finding out he's cancer free.  Mike, also back to help with regionals, danced with Jake while he performed "I Wish". Who knew Jake had such great moves? Mercedes and Marlie did "Higher Ground" which I always forget was Stevie Wonder, since Red Hot Chili Peppers is the version I hear more often. The last Stevie song of the night was "For Once In My Life". So good.  Also good was Kurt's Dad. He is just the best Dad ever, I guess it's easy to be that Dad when you have writers and aren't winging it like so many of us do on a daily basis.  I need Mr. Hummel's writer here in my house when my son screws up or needs some perfect words of wisdom to get him through a tough spot. How awesome was Kate Hudson again this week? Cassie July is such a great character. I loved it when she called Rachel David Schwimmer. Classic. Artie got in to the Brooklyn Film Academy. Which I'm sure is located right next to Rachel and Kurts place in NYC. Guess they better start adding ramps to the place. Did we know his Mom was Katy Sagal? Don't think so. So much nicer and softer then Jemma Teller right?  Okay, while this was a good episode, couple of issues: Britney getting accepted to MIT-ridiculous. Kurt having OCD out of the blue-ridiculous. Rachel able to purchase Debbie Allen's fame cane at a Broadway flea market-ridiculous. Mercedes, Mike, and Kurt all Glee Club experts back in town to help with regionals-sort of ridiculous. Like I said in past posts...it seems anyone can run Glee Club!

Parks and Recreation

Gotta admit, the season finale of Parks and Rec had a surprising ending. It was Founders Week in Pawnee and Leslie was celebrating her 1 year anniversary on the city council (that went fast didn't it?)  by asking everyone if they were better off now than a year ago. The idiots of Pawnee didn't think so. They built a Leslie Knope "No Fun For You" float and asked for her to be recalled from the council. Leslie's answer..."Bring it On".  In addition to the Leslie float, Chris was named "Nipple King" which is apparently an honor in Pawnee. I suppose it could be considered an honor everywhere no? Mona Lisa and John Raffio were still around. Burt Macklin, Andy's FBI agent alter ego was back to solve the :who's pregnant" mystery.  As you'd expect, Andy didn't figure it out, hence his inability to make it into the Pawnee criminal justice system...but we did find out who is actually expecting...O...M...G...Ron Swanson and Xena the Warrior Princess! WOW didn't see that one coming at all. 

Vampire Diaries

Didn't you think that Damon and Stefan were both auditioning for 50 Shades of Grey when they had Elena locked up, shackled in chains and burning her skin to bring back her humanity? What I didn't get was...if Damon could compel Elena to turn off her emotions, why couldn't he do it again to turn them back on? Silas was still getting into Bonnie's head and screwing with Caroline. I'm getting bored with him already. He's not hot, he's really annoying and we know that this veil thing can't happen. Poooor Matt. He's failing school, he's broke, and now he's needed as bait to help get his ex-girlfriends emotions turned back on so that she can pick one of the two other guys he's helping to be in love with.  Okay, he's failing school because he NEVER goes. How in the world could he be broke? He's always working at The Grill. Maybe because he, like everyone but Caroline on The Vampire Diaries, he has no parents to pay for mortgage, taxes, food and his cell phone bill?  Faking Matt's death was the kicker and Elena's emotions came flooding back. Her big revelation...Katherine's to blame for EVERYTHING! Now, she must kill her. Dun, Dun, Dunnnnn...roll credits.

Scandal

HOLY COW what an awesome episode of Scandal. Has there ever been one that wasn't? I didn't breathe for more most of it. Clocks ticking all over the place. The mole, Cyrus, the team, Jake, Mellie and of course Fitz. Everyone watching a clock for one reason or another. Let's just cut to the chase...we needed Fitz and Olyvia to get back together, we needed it bad and even though there was something interesting about Olyvia and Jake, I needed Olyvia back with Fitz. I just wasn't sure how how it would happen. Olyvia gave Fitz the blueprint..."If you Want me? Earn Me!" Well, I believe he did what he was told. How intense was the scene when Fitz showed up at Olyvia's house with the clock ticking on his presidency and Marvin Gaye and Tammi Tyrell singing "You're All I Need To Get By". Fitz proved that he'd give up the White House for Olyvia and Mellie proved that she's got huge balls and moved forward with her plans to tell the world that Fitz is a cheater. As typed this, in my mind, Fitz and Olyvia won't hear this news until next Thursday. They won't leave that apartment or those beautiful white sheets until next Thursday when Cyrus fills them in.  Oh yeah, then we also have this mole situation...who the F is it? Any ideas? I really did think it was Cyrus, but now we know that it's not...so...who? Just for the record...nobody ate, nobody slept, nobody went to the bathroom and I'm surprised that phone service (even a network as awesome as Verizon-shameless plug) would work deep down in those White House tunnels. One last question. Is David Rosen on Olyvia's payroll at this point? Only 2 more episodes...

-My fave TBS show, Cougar Town is getting a new showrunner next season. Hoping this guy will take the "if it aint broken" route. The shows fine the way it is so, this dude really needs to just stay the course like a good captain should. 

-Newly separated, Jason Aldean and new mom of baby girl Lincoln, Kristen Bell will host the CMT Awards in June.

-Some VEVO facts coming out of the newfronts:

• VEVO had more than 50 million US viewers each month, 60% are under 34 
• Half of all video views on VEVO are happening on Smartphones
• Mobile app viewers average 50 minutes per month

-The BBC hit, Orphan Black has been renewed for a second season. I know a few of you guys watch this one and love it. I feel so out of the loop on it, but I know that its not for me at all.  So congrats to all of you that love it so much, your loyalty and social chatter has definitely helped keep it alive for another cycle.

-This years Spike TV's Guys Choice for 2013 honors go to Ben Affleck, Jimmy Kimmel, Vince Vaughn, Emilia Clarke, and a few others. I'm hoping that my FBFF/FTSH, Jimmy Fallon, will be honored at some point, or was he honored already? Who can remember?

Vampire Diaries
Well, we were waiting for the big Vampire Diaries prom episode and it didn't disappoint. Stefan and Damon were hoping that their hotness, the cheesy photos and the emotions one feels at a prom would help to turn Elena's humanity back on. Elena stole Caroline's Prom dress because she's still a nasty evil b*tch without her emotions. Caroline was freaking when she found herself Prom dressless 5 minutes before Prom so she headed to Klaus for something he might have and of course he had an even better dress that required no alterations at all.  Didn't you find it quite a coincidence that of all the students in Mystic Falls attending the Prom, only images of our beloved pals appeared on all the video screens? Also convenient was how every time our buds were near one of the screens, their own photos popped up. I need me one of those things.  Anyway, Rebekah convinced Elijah to give her the cure and he agreed, but only if she could live Prom without any of her Vampire superpowers. No compelling a date, no use of force to be voted Prom Queen...nothing. She managed quite nicely until Elena bit April and Matt begged Rebekah to "do the right thing" and give April her blood so she wouldn't die.  The good news is that Rebekah does have a heart (well, not really) and saved April even though it jeopardized her shot at a normal life. It didn't matter though because Silas, looking like Rebekah, tricked Elijah and left with the cure. Two of our faves came back for Prom, one real, one not. I warned you that Jeremy would be back, but in body only since Silas used him to mess with Bonnie, and mess with her he did. Bonnie got Silas to show his disgusting face just as the credits took it over at the end of the episode. It was quick, but for a moment I thought it was Voldemort from Harry Potter. Also back to check out how good Bonnie looked and give her the best Prom ever: Tyler.  Flowers, dancing, some smooching and then he had to get back to disappearing, but Klaus caught him on his way outta dodge, but let him split because of his "thing" for Caroline. Not sure at all how Bonnie and Matt got voted Prom King and Queen when both of them rarely go to school, but congrats to them. Katherine called and told Klaus he better get his hot butt to New Orleans and hook up with some chick named Jane so that's how THE SPINOFF begins.  Next week, a sneak peak at THE ORIGINALS.  Of course I'm checking that one out. Loved that version of The Cure's "Pictures of You" BTW...gotta download it when I have a chance.

Glee

Who knew there was a University of Lima? I had no idea. Apparently you don't need to take SAT's, write an essay or wait til the new semester to get in either. Puck's was just living in a dorm, partying without his mohawk, when Finn coincidentally walks right in to find him as his roommate. Yeah RIGHT! Ridiculous. Nene Leakes was back to take Sue's place and while I find her freaky to look at, she is really good as the AA Sue.  Loved her new name for Blaine...Fruity Fonzie, classic. Rachel was going crazy trying to decide what song to sing for her Funny Girl audition when her Mom/Idina Menzel, found her,  "Next To Me" and inspired her to go old school. Back to the first episode actually, Journey's "Don't Stop Believing'. Everyone in the Glee club had a bit of PTSD since last weeks shooting, especially Sam who had seemed to go all Cybil with his split personality, Evan Evans who wore glasses and had a British accent. He seemed to be cold most of the episode since his headlights were on for most of it. Throw the kid a sweater or something. Anyway the kids were pissed at Mr. Shu after he chose Dream Weaver, Sweet Dreams Are Made of This and You Make My Dreams Come True for Regionals. These songs are 20 years old or more, and Marli didn't even know them. Of course Marli had 2 amazing songs written that were perfect. "You Have More Friends Than You Know" and "Outkast". Two cheesy -be yourself and everything will be alright- anthems.  Embarrassed to admit that I loved them both, but I did and so did Mr. Shu. He and Finn also made up and agreed to work as a team to prep for regionals.   

Parks & Rec Episode 1
Both episodes of Parks and Rec last night were hilarious and brilliant. I freaking love his show.  It's so hard to talk about it when it's over each week, because you just can't understand how funny and amazingly written it is unless you watch it. During the filming of this episode, guest star Patton Oswalt was given carte blanche to say/do whatever he wanted for a filibuster scene. His 8 minute uncut, unedited diatribe, a pilot idea for the new Star Wars, was so incredible that it went viral prior to the show airing. In addition to Patton's brilliance, Ron and April were subjected to Katumps or CTMTS, the Chris Trager Management Training Seminar. Chris's first lesson was motivation. Of course Chris's ideas on motivation were grounded in support and positivity, while Ron's were stemmed in hunger and fear. A Jerry experiment to determine which motivation method was more effective was necessary. Net/net, Jerry filed more of Ron's folders BUT they were all filed wrong because he was so nervous.   In the middle of all of this lunacy, Ann Perkins was bidding against Tall Tyrion Lannister, aka Ben Wyatt on a waffle iron to give to Leslie for the anniversary of the first time they ate waffles/had breakfast together. This gave Donna the chance to fill Ann in on Game of Thrones and the Lannisters. When Ann didn't win the bid, she made a Leslie Knope replica out of breakfast food that included a bacon skirt! A bacon skirt...you know you'd want one!

In the second episode of the show, Leslie and I were completely caught off guard with Jerry's retirement announcement, but apparently he'd been alerting all of his co-workers for 2 years of his pending retirement.  Leslie felt so bad that the team didn't give Jerry a big send and that he hadn't achieved any of his goals that she headed to his house to give him a special day. Jerry, his wife, Christie Brinkley and their 3 daughters were just sitting down to "Eggs, Bacon and Toast" and invited Leslie to join them, but they made her sing the song first. We rewound 3 times and I'm still singing it this AM. I can't find the video, or I'd have it for you. After breakfast they headed out to try and check off all of the items on Jerry's wish list. Chris and Ann Perkins were in baby making mode. After hearing that he was the healthiest person to ever be examined and that he had the heart rate of a 100 year old tortoise, it was time to get going. Then the weirdness began. Awkwardness led to making out, which I was waiting for. Lucky Rashida Jones. Back at the offices, once Jerry left, Tom became the new Jerry which he HATED! Tom got an intern in hopes he could be the new Jerry, but that didn't work out, so Ron, being the amazing guy he is, brought Jerry back as the intern! See, you knew Jerry wasn't going anywhere. Now he'll be around and NOT getting paid! So Jerry.

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-For any of you that were REALLY upset that Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 was abruptly taken off the air, good news. The eight unaired episodes will be available on Hulu, ABC.com and Itunes starting 5/17.  If you are even thinking of watching these, I have a ton of other better recommendations for you. Just let me know, happy to help.

-ABC is changing the order of two of its Castle episodes as the one slated for 4/22 involved one of the characters stepping on a bomb. So in light of the Boston Marathon bombing and all of this lunacy, a little sensitivity is the right way to go.

- The Time 100 was released yesterday. While my FBFF/FTSH , Jimmy Fallon was named to the pretty prestigious list, I'm embarrassed to say that upon reviewing the list 3 times, I only knew 29 of the people on it. Look, I'm a TV blogger, wife, mother etc. Without Google, I'd have no idea that Palaniappan Chidambaram is India's Minister of Finance. Do normal people know this stuff? -The upcoming 8th season of Dexter will officially be its last. I've never seen Dexter but I've always wanted to. Now that I know the end is in sight, it will give me motivation to catch up on the past 7 seasons. I better go on vacation, that's when I do my best binge viewing.
